I have always loved sporting my neighborhood Organic Blush in Aspen, however, after my experience on Friday I am done. I came in at 8:50 pm to grab 2 items , only to be told sternly by an older women in the Health and Body supplement section that I had only 10 minutes left before the store closes. Her abrasive tone made me so uncomfortable I almost walked out upon entering. She proceeded to stand at the very front of the store and told each customer who came in after me the same speech, each time stating the allotted time period before 9 pm. It's unfortunate how one staff member can make for such an unpleasant experience. read more

Got chicken wings in their deli section: they are dry as a bone, probably were sitting under the heating lamp for days. Very disappointed.

Just want to say how much I appreciate Carly at the Marda Loop Blush Lane location. She is warm and engaging and always has a smile and a positive comment to share. She is incredibly helpful and always attentive to small details. She always takes the time to engage each customer and clearly cares. Visually pretty, lots of things to taste and a impressive array of products. Just incredibly expensive and a little silly in some cases. A cloth bag to put your sandwiches in for $15 is just silly. A tin canister (tiffin) for over $20. I understand food accessories are nice in a grocery store, but these kind of mark ups make me suspect of everything else they offer. read more

If you're not in the inner city (or you are and you feel like a short drive), Blush Lane is a great organic option. Good: -I love the small shop feel of this place, and how many amazing things are tucked in to the shop. Bonus points for stocking Sharon's coconut milk iced "cream" in Dutch Chocolate (a.k.a. the best thing ever/the hardest thing to find). -They grow a lot of their own produce, and focus on local sourced products, which rocks. Not as good: -The deli case wasn't "manned", and it took me a while to chase someone down who could help me. The cashier looked a little bit alarmed when I asked her to cut me some prosciutto. We moved past the awkwardness, but I wish it had been easier to get the service I needed. -It's muy pricey, even edging out competitors I'm familiar with. The local + quality + price balance is reasonable, but checking out with a few items at $60 makes it clear to me that I couldn't afford to buy all, or even most, of my organic items here. Overall, a great place to stop in, check out, and enjoy the best of what local and organic have to offer. read more

I'm rating them low but I like their product(s)... and the people who work there are VERY VERY nice. I'll explain below. I was very excited when they opened because they have a focus on local ingredients however, they consistently run-out of staple items. As a person who eats/cooks/shops 100% organic... it just does not work here. At first I tried to talk to them about it but they can't seem to get their act together to operate their business properly - by properly I mean: ordering product BEFORE they run out. After many months of complaints falling on deaf ears, I have taken to shopping at Community Natural Foods downtown and no longer have a problem. I intend to check back with them from time to time but as it stands, they are not a viable choice as a one-stop all-inclusive market for people who shop/eat/cook 100% organic. read more

I would like to give this store at Calgary Farmers market a -23 star review. I have been supporting them for a long time but I am done. I have had huge problems with Sunworks farms chicken at this location. The herbs are always overpriced and wilted. Yesterday I bought Maple Hill Farm chicken frozen ( to be safe ) . I thawed out the cornish game hen in my frig to cook today and my whole house smells like rotting flesh. \ There is a serious problem with quality control there and I buy Maple Hill farm chicken at Planet organic and Community Natural food and have had NO problems. Either the coolers are not properly maintained or teh staff is sloppy , freezing things well after the best before date. I know when I have been there before the stuff is priced , it sits in a big un -refrigerated bin while it is weighed and priced. I have watched this being done by an employee. The sad thing is that they do not CARE what you think as I have raised issues before and nothing improves. Now they are selling Rossdown Chicken which is not free range or organic and I found out from a private source that it is bleached. Why would yo want to put that in your body . Really shameful of them but they keep on getting richer !!! time to go the board of health and maybe that will change their attitude !!!!! read more

I don't live close by so I don't ever come in here often. They did have DRY Soda on sale for $5.99/4 bottles so I stocked up. The staff is extremely friendly. Their produce is very nice. Almost everything is organic. You can test the various cheeses offered before buying. I really love their prices when there are sales. It's on par or cheaper than other organic markets in Calgary. read more

Blush is an adorable little shop tucked away in the hills of Aspen, and if you haven't traveled that far west - I highly recommend that you do. First found Blush while going to the Market when it was at it's old Currie Barracks location. And now that the market has moved I find myself relying on Blush even more than before! Yes it's pricey but the quality really shines through. The atmosphere is like none other, however I do tend to shop at off peak times. It's quiet - no booming announcements Child friendly atmosphere - my 3 year old loves pushing his very own little cart around. Health conscious products I feel comfortable feeding my family. And Blush isn't just for health nuts, and my household admittedly does not eat 100% organic. But I enjoy knowing that the meat my family eats isn't pumped full of hormones, that fruit tastes like fruit again and my son will grow up eating the way I wish I'd been shown to when I was younger. *note* Bring fabric bags if you have them. read more

I wish I could say that my experience at this market was positive. I stopped by at the market this past December, and made an order with a sales clerk for some chicken livers and hearts. Not only was the clerk rude and short with me, but they also didn't phone me back as they promised they would. Not a good experience at all. read more

Intentional scam or an innocent mistake ? I won't be shopping at Blush Lane for 2 different reason: 1)They have an attitude of a night club bouncer, especially that old woman working at the till. They make you feel like they are doing you a huge favour by selling you their products, bad bad bad customer service. 2) I shopped there twice, the first time I bought few things and ended up paying close to $70, didn't make a big deal out of it cause it's for my son and I never cheap out when spending money on my precious one. Second time bought the same stuff and it's only few things, walked back to my car and I was like WTF ??? I decided this time to check the receipt and there was $27 for 4 cartons of eggs and this time it's a bigger WTF cause I didn't buy any eggs from this place. I went back and talked to that old woman who seemed like she was caught with a dildo in her purse, she was like are you sure you didn't buy eggs from us? I was so mad, I told her I was here just a min ago, I started telling her about the last time I paid the same thing. Now I have a feeling that wasn't an honest mistake because she quickly gave me my money back and she tried to quiet me and snapped the receipt from me and won't give back. thinking about it, the stuff I bought cannot cost more than $35. My advice is, if you still want to shop at that place make sure you review your receipt cause my gut feeling tells me it wasn't an honest mistake. read more

I love Blush Lane :) The staff are amazing, the produce is always clean and tidy (unlike Community where the produce generally looks like road kill), and they have a great selection for a tiny store. After living in the lower mainland and shopping daily at Capers and Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheque), it's comforting to know I can walk down the street to Blush Lane and know I am getting quality organic food in a clean and helpful establishment just like I did on the west coast. This store has made a complete 180 turnaround. Product I haven't seen in months are re appearing again. Bulk foods and many other items. New management maybe? Regardless I'm loving it again. Keep up the good work blushlane read more
