If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I really have no problem with the manicure I received, however, the woman who did my nails clearly hated her life. Called earlier in the day to make a same day appointment ~5pm. Did not wait long after we arrived to be taken back to the pedicure stations. There are a ton of nail polish choices, honestly it's almost overwhelming. The place is a bit crowded/clustered, but has a nice look and feel. We chatted while the technicians worked on our pedicures. The inclusion of a paraffin dip and a hot stone massage was a great perk! Those add-on services usually drive the cost of a pedicure up over $60/per person. Definitely worth the value. I'm ~ 4 weeks out from my last pedicure and my polish is still going strong. Went here because it's close to work and I needed to get a mani/pedicure ASAP before traveling. Went on my lunch break, it took the woman 2 hours for a gel manicure and pedicure with the worst foot massage I've ever had at a salon. The -4 stars isn't for the time though, it's because I had finally gotten thru the painful process of growing my toenail out past where the corners get ingrown. Instead of cutting my nail straight across, the way you're supposed to in order to prevent ingrown nails she cut the corners almost halfway down my nail. This salon has very good prices, but if you're looking for somewhere to feel pampered and relaxed this is not the place. The nail technicians were chatting loudly to each other so I was unable to even carry on a conversation with my friend that I came with. The lady doing my nails caused me to bleed in two places on my cuticles - I wasn't very upset because it happens but she seemed very rushed when picking away at the cuticle. She wasn't very friendly toward me until the end when I asked about dip manicures and then she got a little more chatty. The place seemed cramped and looked like it could use a good cleaning/organization. I am new to the area and was trying out some nail places to check if their services are worth while. I heard about this place and decided to give it a try. The appointment was easy to make and I made it online. My appointment was on a weekend and the place was packed. There's little seating available and they were extremely busy on that Saturday weekend. I sat there to be called and was asked if I chose a nail color. My nail tech was lost when I told him remove the gel overlay and the gel polish. He removed the gel polish but lots of overlay was remaining. I let him continue and he did the nail prep etc. I wasn't doing a gel manicure .. regular manicure only. Whenever my tech talked, I could barely hear him. He hurt my cuticle but I let that go. Now he applied the color and told me to go sit to allow polish to dry. He didn't even turn the fan on, I had to figure it out myself. He comes back and applies a thick top coat. This was surely not going to dry in 20 mins. I sat there for another 15 mins and left. I came home and after a few days the nail polish chipped and I decided to remove the overlays myself .. and surely it came off because I used an e-file and did everything they were supposed to do. I think the service wasn't worth while.. so I can't recommend this place. read more

They have decent prices, but I got a shellac manicure that peeled off within 2 days! The no-chip pedicure was ruined within one. I went back to get my manicure fixed, I called 2/3 times and they told me to come in. When I did they seemed so disturbed by the process of fixing 3 nails. They picked the wrong color because I didn't remember the one my previous manicurist suggested and brought himself. After she was done I said thank you and she walked away without saying anything. One of the best pedi experiences I've had in any city. No, kidding. My mind is absolutely blown by the quality of service and the friendliness of the staff. For $30, you get a pedi, a scrub, a paraffin dip AND a ten minute hot stone massage. Yes, oh yes. And what else? A complimentary beverage. Does it mean soda? It could. But more importantly, they give you the option of wine. Sure, it is probably Franzia but there is something to be said about a nice glass of wine while sitting in a massage chair with someone else massaging your feet. They take appointments and walk-ins. They recommend appointments so they can meet your needs. If you pay in cash, then you get a punch for every $20 you spend. After ten punches, you get any service free. OOOH! So! Yes, I am so excited I can not type full sentences! When picking your color it is difficult to know how it will look. They give you sample of each color. You pick them by telling them the color. I picked a copper color which is usually out of my color wheel, but being able to see it on a nail sample is amazing. I am not going to lie, I was SO impressed by this establishment. The staff is PHEN-OM-EN-AL. Can I please just go back daily? I wish Yelp had a crazy multidimensional experience so you could touch my feet. They are so soft. Not impressed at all. I was in town for a wedding and came here for a regular manicure. My guy used a file so rough to shape my nails that some edges were visibly jagged and torn. One nail was extremely crooked, and asking for a fix only got me a few extra swipes that didn't actually help anything. I ended up re-filing my nails the next day and smoothing over with top coat that someone else luckily had brought. My friend got French tips that looked better -- great for her, but service should really be consistent, at a much higher level. The kicker: When I took off the polish, I found deep scratches across several nails that could only have come from the filing. I get that this place is cheap, but manicures that cost the same in NYC stay on for nearly a week...and do *not* damage your nails. Poor longevity is one thing, but coming out with worse, damaged nails than you went in with is absolutely unacceptable. I suggest spending a bit more for better treatment. read more

I have been going to Blush for years as I live nearby and prices are good, however, staff have been extremely unprofessional my last few visits. They seem to be distracted talking to one another and care more about socializing rather than taking care of your nails. There seemed to be some whispering about another coworker going on as well, which definitely made myself and another guest uncomfortable. ZERO STARS. The new "owner", "Sophie", if that's her real name, and she is the owner, is TERRIBLY RUDE AND A HORRIBLE BUSINESS WOMAN. DO NOT WASTE ONE PENNY AT THEIR ESTABLISHMENT. She and her staff absolutely ruined my birthday. I have been going there for YEARS, and it used to be so good; since new ownership, the few times I have been in there totally sucked. Today I went in with my friend and her daughter for 3 pedicures, a gel manicure, and a full set. When we got there, another birthday party had arrived before we did. Once I sat down I heard them ask the party if they wanted sangria, and celebrated the birthday with them. We were never offered sangria, nor celebrated with. The girl that I had was nice enough, but very young and not that well-trained. She left my toes full of exposed skin underneath the nail, no polish covering the end of my nail so it looked like a nasty semi-filed, frayed white nail, and a huge chunk of nail hanging off the side of my toe. She was going to be ok leaving it like that until I said something. When I picked out my colors I said a MILLLION times that I wasn't quite sure that was the color scheme I wanted to go for, but went with it anyway as it was my birthday, and I had people waiting on me for our birthday plans, and so that they could get home. Once we left we went to lunch immediately afterward. It was then (less than an hour later) I decided to call them and have them redone. I called the salon right after lunch and told her (Sophie the owner) that I wanted to come in tomorrow for a polish change because of not liking it, and that I'd have to wait until tomorrow because of my birthday and plans. Sophie "owner", was SUPER RUDE. She would not make any exception to my experience and still charge me $20 to come back in tomorrow to have the color changed. She was RUDE, RUDE, RUDE, and would not stop talking over me condescendingly. She told me not to take it personally, and they charge everyone that fee if they don't say something right away before you leave. Again I expressed that it was my birthday and I had plans so I had to leave, but that's why I was calling back literally less than an hour later). She continued to talk over me and get real snappy. As an independent business owner she could have made the right customer service decision; apologize and have me come back free of charge. Because of this experience she has now lost 3 (potentially 5 because my daughters would be joining me s as well) while we were all there, as we were talking about doing this once a month to get together and catch up. That would be potentially 5 pedicures, 4 acrylics, and a gel manicure. How much money did Sophie just lose out on? I'd say probably around $650 or so a month. What overhead would that cover for Sophie? What referral business would that bring in for Sophie? WE will NEVER be going back now. Sophie done screwed it up! My sister in law made reservations for four of us to get manicures and pedicures a few days before her wedding. They took us right at 1:00pm when she had made the appointments, and they put all four of us together in pedicure chairs. The massage chairs were fantastic, and some of the best massage chairs I've ever sat in. It was a lovely pedicure complete with paraffin and a hot stone massage. They didn't have enough manicure stations so they did my manicure right in the massage chair. That was a first for me, but it was quite comfortable. For $55 I got a shellac Mani/pedi, sugar scrub, hot stone massage, parafin dip. I was a walk in on Sunday, they said they were expecting a large party but squeezed me in regardless. They are always so willing to work with you. It was a full pamper experience even though they had the looking large party. Over the years I have had positive experiences at Blush Fitchburg. However, after my most recent experience this week, I will not be returning. I had a mani/pedi which could not have ended soon enough. The male provider who did the pedi was very friendly but caused me a great deal of pain. From cuticle trimming to water temperature to massage to scraping off excess nail polish with his sharp finger nail-I just wanted this experience to end. Then, I was handed off to another male provided for the mani and had the same feeling. He filed my fingertips along with my nails. My "soft square" shape had sharp edges. He was rushed and aggressive with the arm massage. The salon also had rap music playing and the staff talk very loud to each other. I think everyone goes for nail service to relax and be pampered a bit. I would call this service stressful and horrible. It seems that people who have a regular provider they schedule with may have better experiences. But if you make an appointment without having a preference, you don't know what you're going to get. After my pedi service, another young women went in my spot and I could see the look of pain and shock on her face as she experienced what I did. It's really unfortunate because this location is so convenient and the pricing is so reasonable. read more

Worst dip manicure that I've ever had. I had my nails done 9 days ago and every single nail has already chipped. Every other salon that I've been to doesn't chip for about 4 weeks. The person who did my nails did them so quickly and would put polish on every finger on my hand, then dip each one quickly after. I went to Blush a couple years ago and was disappointed but thought I would try it again. I was even more disappointed today. The service provider gave eyes that made it look like she was rolling them when we walked in. I asked for the express and she offered up the upgrade but then rushed through the pedicure so quickly and was very rough. I couldn't see how badly my nails were painted until I got home and it was awful! The nails weren't completely covered and the tips were still the natural nail color. I've gotten a nice pedicure at Blush before, but my recent experience prompted me to want to write a review. I arrived at 11:00 am on a Sunday morning because I wanted a previous shellac manicure I had gotten at another nail salon in Middleton removed. The previous manicure was way too thick (I looked like I had stubby little claws). Shawn greeted me and helped me right away. He told me (somewhat apologetically) that it would be $5 to remove the shellac since I'd had it done elsewhere (which was fine...I've been charged $10). He then told me if I wanted a new color, it would be included in the price of $30. Over the past 2 years I've had shellac manicures in the Madison area ranging from $40-70, and Shawn did a better job than any of them. I'm pretty hard (or just not very careful) on manicures, but 2 weeks later my nails still look fantastic. There isn't a single chip, the polish isn't too thick, and he didn't grind off my nails like some of the other salons do. I will definitely be back to blush for an appointment with Shawn. read more

Ive never ever been treated so poorly in my entire life. I made an appointment for 4:30pm. Called ahead and made an appointment just like the website says to. I arrived at 4:20pm. 2 girls came in after me and requested pedicures and manicures without appointments. The salon was busy but they took all 3 of us back at the same time. I was in the chair at 4:25pm and started to pick out my colors. By the time I finished picking out my color the young girl who was working on my feet signaled me that I was done and put my feet in the paraffin wrap. This was at 4:35pm she didn't file my nails, cut the cuticles, exfoliate/scrub anything..she had the hot stones on my legs for less than 2 minutes. I sat in the chair with the paraffin and hot towels on my legs for 6 minutes. That was the longest part of the "service" at this point I was upset because I don't want my pedicures to be rushed I enjoy the massage and she was going to start painting my toes without filing them or anything. I asked her if she was going to file them or exfoliate or anything and she said "no you're nails are already cut" yes I had cut them myself at home but that doesn't mean they don't need to be filed or have the cuticles cut or just all around give poor service. At this point they all started to talk loudly in their native language (assuming about me since they were all looking at me) and I was so uncomfortable I put my shoes back on and got ready to leave. A man stopped me at the door and said I couldn't leave I had already gotten my service done. I said that I didn't get any service done. I showed him the time which was 4:45pm. 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I said she didn't provide any service and I was so uncomfortable I just wanted to leave. He then left and went to the back and at this point the entire full salon was all watching me stand there and cry as they all talked about me and he came back and offered to redo my nails himself but I'd already been crying and so embarrassed I just wanted to leave. He made me pay $31 to be treated this way. I've never ever been treated this way my entire life. I've never even left a yelp review anywhere before and after calling my boyfriend to cry about this I'm now sitting in the parking lot writing the review. It's 5:06pm my appointment was at 4:30pm. I'm including pictures of my "finished service" that I paid for which I am also not happy about as I don't like my feet in general but I am so unbelievably upset I am willing to put my feet on the internet so people can see this "service" that I was forced to pay $31 for. DONT COME HERE unless you want to be rushed through a 10 minute pedicure and then be made to cry in public. Again I cut my nails at home prior to coming in so you can see that they aren't filed or cuticles cut or anything. This has been the worst experience of my life. DONT COME HERE. I love this place! A friend recommended Blush to me over a year ago when the other place I was going to wasn't working out for me anymore. The difference was night and day. Every time I have come to Blush has been a good experience. I've found my favorite nail tech, Hannah, but the other techs do great work too! I've never had a bad experience here. I can usually call the same day and make an appointment but occasionally I have to make it for the next day. Most of the time I go in they are very busy but I never feel rushed and everyone has always been very kind. They introduced me to dipping powder for a manicure and I really love it. I have to give this nail boutique 2 stars because because their technical skills are so bad and their sanitation is questionable. I received a pedicure and was with two others who got manicures. My nails were not shaped at all, just cut, cuticles not pushed back, and the cuticles were taken off very quickly with no cuticle softener. My friend was left with a bleeding cuticle on her hands, and the other just had badly shaped nails and a terrible cuticle treatment. This is unacceptable for professional nail salons. Sanitation is also an issue. Professional nail salons should bring their tools in the protective plastic, including items to be sterilized, as well as pumice bar. I didn't realize until after he had began using the pumice stone that it was run down far too much for the minute he used it on my feet. Love love love this place!!! The prices are great and they go above and beyond the average nail salon! My nails always look flawless and their pedis are heavenly. The staff REMEMBERS you and asks you about your life and "oh how is your biology class going? How is your new puppy?" That makes a girl feel important especially when you are a regular. The other important thing is that you feel comfortable and welcome there and they are all cheerful and smiling and chatty! My only big huge pet peeve is that when I schedule an appointment at 4 and someone else walks in at 3:50 they will still let the person cut in front of you so I have to wait 30 minutes + for the other walk in person to get their stuff done. Absolutely incredible! My mom and I have been looking for a place to get pedicures for years since our go-to place closed. This one hit the spot! From the scented scrub, relaxing massage, paraffin wax and hot towel wraps, this place has it all. The first time it took my reservation but when I got there there they acted like the dos not know anything about an appointment. This is the first time I have tried Blush. I normally go to Lotus to Vincent and or Danny. But there is new management at Lotus and Vincent is on vacation and Danny has left. Big Mistake Lotus! I live close to Blush so I gave it a try. I had made an appointment but there was a mix up with the date. My fault. I had it written down wrong. They still took me and did a very nice pink fill over my pink and whites. The shape was very nice and Sean took his time and made sure I liked them. He also did a design on a few nails. I told him the colors I wanted and said do something nice. He did a GREAT job! Everyone there seemed happy. There was no one waiting to get in, etc. Seems like it is well run and appreciate appointments and they try to stay on track. I am super picky and up until I started going to Lotus 4 years ago, I had been going to the same nail salon for over 15 years. All and all, I will go back. The price was excellent too.
