I made an appointment for short French tip acrylics and costed $55 (without tips). They were able to get me in right on my scheduled appointment time. The service was quick and the prices were reasonable, it overall gets the job done. There were just small minor details around the French tip edges that I wished was more refined but overall it still looks fine. read more

Tracy was amazing! This was my second fill with her and I'm so impressed with her attention to detail! She does an amazing hand and arm massage and that's not too common! I'd say most salons are hit and miss (mostly miss) with that. I'm no longer looking at other salons (I'm new to Madison). Also my nails last! This is it!!! read more

Got a deluxe mani Friday at 7:00. By Saturday at 7:00 two nails polishes were gone. Went in Sunday for a fix of those two. By Monday morning two more nails polishes were gone. I wish I had kept the photo of my nails after the first two, but I had hoped it was just a fluke thing. Bottom line, for $25-$30 I expect a mani to last more than a day. Otherwise I could have done by own for less money and lasted longer. read more

4K accommodated a large wedding party (10 people!) for dip acrylic French manicures and regular French pedicures. The salon is clean and modern, and the technicians are detail oriented. Kenny in particular is very personable and funny. For the pedicures, in addition to the normal scrubs and soaking, we had our feet soaked in hot paraffin and wrapped with thot towels. I have been to this venue 3 times. Always for a pedicure - I do have difficult nails, being thick. The first visit I believe I lucked out and got the owner. He was great (he speaks some Japanese and I had just taken a trip to Japan - we had a great talk) He took his time, mainly used a Dremel on my nails, was meticulous with my cuticles... the massage, the wax, the cheese grater on the bottom of my feet :) - was wonderful. I made another appointment thinking I was making it with him. I didn't realize that's it more of who is up/available to "catch" when you arrive. The second visit was with another / not the owner and there was no talking, he'd make a noise when he wanted my feet moved into the bath or out / or into a different position. 3rd visit: As luck would have it when I arrived (I didn't have an appointment, a true drop-in) I got the 2nd non-speaking nail cutter. He started on my right foot, cut 3 out of the first 4 toes to close and gave up -muttering and shaking his head and did not trim any more nails - he just moved onto the next phases of the pedicure... i asked about cutting the other nails, he spoke up and said no - I'd have to have it done elsewhere... I ended up leaving - very disheartened... If you are going in with normal feet, not thickened nails, no other issues you should be good and I would highly recommend them. If you have feet issues - you may have not get what need and get a little ego-bruising to boot. Walking in with a problem and having it explained to all within hearing distance was not pleasant. read more

the technician was rude, she did not know how to do nails she ruined my nails. She cut my nails, my real nails off first of all. she kept talking shit in her language not knowing I could understand what she was saying. she had my nails thick and ugly, the polish was clumped overall horrible job. I recommend the spa pedicure for $40 the extended hot oil massage is worth the extra $10 you pay for the spa pedicure. Binh gives the best massage. Great service and they take walk- ins. This was my best pedicure experience in Madison. I took my mom with me and she was equally impressed. I made my appointment via yelp and the owner responded within few minutes. It was a Sat morning so despite my appointment we had to wait for 15 mins to get started. We didn't had any issues with that as the staff was very attentive in giving us water and making sure we were comfortable. There are 3 categories of pedicure. Basic, spa and deluxe. Each with $10 price difference. I had the basic and my mom had the spa pedicure. I was happy with what came with the basic and it was actually way more than I have gotten anywhere else in Madison. My mom had extra massages- hot neck message, some flavored massage and she said that was worth the extra $10 bucks as well. All in all, it was a great experience and I will sure come back again. I recommend this place 100%. Pro tip- they give u $2 off per service if you pay in Cash! read more

Went here a couple of months ago for a gel manicure and was not impressed. Multiple things stood out to me right away: 1. The ventilation was terrible. Lots of heavy fumes, making the air hard to breath in. I know this is common for nail salons but extra stressful with COVID-19. 2. The technician didn't wear their mask properly which was a BIG turn off for me. He had it under his nose the whole time and I was pretty anxious but uncomfortable asking if he could pull it up. 3. The salon didn't seat people far enough enough away from other clients. There were multiple stations open but clients seemed to be stacked in one section only when I was there. 4. Every now and then the technician really hurt my cuticles with lots of pulling and tugging. After about a week, most of my gel manicure was peeling off and I don't think it was applied the best. I don't think I will be back as they did not seem to take COVID-19 precautions seriously. read more

This place is great. However I had on small problem the lat time o had a manicure. I got an acrylic manicure and I had a woman, I can't remwmber her name but my nail shape was pretty questionable. this place is amazing however ask for the Owner if your piicky about your nails like me. if you ever get your nails done at this establishment just be sure to be specific if you have special nails in mind read more

For the price point, they offer the best pedicure and dip nail experience. Their base rate pedicure includes paraffin wax, and a hot towel wrap. My toes came out perfect. Charlie did my set of dip nails, with tips. I have never had a more beautiful set of nails. He blended the dip down on the edges, rounded all the corners, and honestly killed every single finger (I got color 428). read more

I was in town on business and needed my nails done BAD!!! I got the deluxe pedicure for $50. And WOW!!! They pampered me for over an hour and a half. They gave me water, scrubbed, exfoliated, massaged with oil, hot rocks, hot towels, lit a candle, and so much more! The woman that did my toes took her time and really cleaned and scrubbed my heels and nail beds. Her application of the polis was near perfect on my almost non-existent nails. Moving on to my finger nails. By the time they were done pampering my feet the shop was closed. Kenny stayed for an extra hour and a half to do my gel set with glam nails! At no point did he rush or skimp on quality. We had great convos about his family and my brothers up coming wedding. LONG STORY SHORT!!!!!! 4K Nails was clean, comfy, and quality service. I was told by a handful of friends that this place was fantastic, so i was eager and hopeful i'd love it! the quality of this Dip set on my natural nails is shockingly bad. I made an appointment for Saturday and it took an hour and a half for a dip set (with old dip removal). Today its tuesday and as pictured my nail is already chipped. and most of the dip is starting to crack all around the tip. The guy doing my nails soaked my fingers in warm acetone to remove the previous dip, which was fine but he told me to move my fingers around in the bowl while he played on his phone across from me. Its a nice and clean salon and the tools were clean and are visibly sanitized which I can appreciate. But for the amount of time this set took, how thin it is, and the fact that its chipping after 4 days is crazy. I will not be returning to them for any more nail services. read more

I have been here twice now and overall it has been a decent experience. Nice people and pricing is comparable to other places in Madison. However, I think I might be allergic to either their acrylic liquid or nail primer because both time my fingers have burned after filling the nail. Today I went and asked for a coffin shape with rounded edges. They came out decent, but the shape isn't very consistent from nail to nail. You can see in the photos that my thumbs are completely different shapes. They do include a little hand massage with the service though, and that was nice. read more

So since moving here I have been to a couple of nail salons but they were just mediocre. While searching online I came across 4K nails and I decided to give it a try. I did a full set with gel and I requested to be with Kenny. He did an amazing job doing coffin shape nails. Believe me not everyone can shape the various nail shapes. He took his time and didn't rush. The polish is still fresh looking no lifting or peeling. It has been 2 weeks now, I have washed dishes bare hands and cooked.. nails are looking good. I will just be going to Kenny from now onwards. It's a nice place with lots of parking space and it's a clean place as well read more

The polish removal process was a marathon--30 minutes!--and then she started trimming my nails without looking, slicing into the skin beneath them. Ouch! I yanked my hand back, not keen on sacrificing my fingers today. She just stared blankly at me. Fabulous. Filing my nails was like watching a toddler color outside the lines. Then, she dropped the bomb: two of my nails would be square-shaped. Excuse me? I said no, but she insisted. So, I borrowed the nail file and demonstrated that round nails were indeed possible. Without a word, she walked off to another tech and complained. Cue the drama! The "master nail tech" stormed over, shouting, "Hey, hey, hey!" (That's not my name, by the way). She launched into a tirade about how clients don't file their own nails. Felt like I was back in kindergarten getting scolded by the teacher. Finally, I asked her to trim my cuticles. Instead of using a softener or water, she just yanked at them dry. It was like watching someone prune a cactus with their bare hands. I asked if they ever used a softener, and she bluntly replied, "No." Charming. As I complimented her nail art (because why not try to be nice?), my manicure wrapped up, and I was left alone waiting for my pedicure. That's when the salon manager approached me and said my nail tech didn't feel comfortable continuing and that I needed to leave. Shocked but not one to make a scene, I prepared to pay for my crappy manicure. As I took out my credit card, the salon owner suddenly got hostile and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave immediately. WHAT?! I was just trying to pay! She stormed outside, so I followed, phone in hand, ready to record. They charged me $4 extra for the nail polish remover, likely because I was a "special" white Ukrainian with a heavy accent. As the owner ranted about a "language barrier," I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity. Outside, as I recorded on my phone, the owner bizarrely wanted me to take some other client's used water bottle and claimed I had a language barrier. Lady, I understood everything perfectly: you overcharged me, refused me service, and acted like I was the problem. Newsflash: it's you and your "bougie" salon with anger issues. By the way, it turns out I'm not the only one who's had a run-in with this place. According to Google reviews, being booted out seems to be their favorite sport, right up there with charging extra and providing subpar services. So, to anyone considering a visit to this "Bougie" salon, beware! You might find yourself signing away your legal rights, dealing with a tech in a dirty old bra, and being yelled at by someone who thinks "Hey, hey, hey" is your name. And if you're really lucky, you might even get kicked out and overcharged, just like me. Cheers to finding a new salon where the only surprises are the ones you actually want.
