He was incredibly kind, helpful, and considerate throughout our visit. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcome and had a great time, and his positive energy really added to the experience. It's clear he cares deeply about guests and takes pride in creating such a welcoming environment. Yet, during that time, checking out LACMA has always managed to stay right near the top, just after eating in KTown. What can I say? I guess I'm just a connoisseur of food and culture...heavy emphasis on the former, far less on the latter. After all, as much as I appreciate museums and art, a big reason for wanting to come here was to also get our prerequisite IG photos of the Urban Lights display like everyone else! Since my gf's friend bought our tickets online for us, I can't really speak to the price or the process. However, what I can say is that buying tickets in advance is highly recommended so that you can lock in your preferred entry time slot, rather than taking a chance on whatever walk up slots are left when you get here. Similarly, their parking lot can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, but there are alternatives nearby. The surrounding streets offer spaces, but most of them seem to have time limits/meters. Otherwise, there are several other parking lots nearby, including a large one a half block away at the Petersen Automotive Museum that we parked at. Now, in all, LACMA is made up of four separate buildings/pavilions filled with exhibits and pieces from a variety of movements, periods, and artists from around the world, whether it be American, European, Latin, Egyptian, Asian, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Abstract, Surrealist, Pop Art, Picasso, Monet, Diego Rivera, Andy Warhol, and so much more. The artwork here also extends beyond just the physical, as there was even a live trio performing with a violin player, a singer, and a bicycle riding performer. I don't know if it's just me, but that felt pretty rare to see. Given how art is largely subjective, everyone will feel differently about LACMA's specific exhibits and pieces, but I think it's objectively safe to say that their overall collection of artwork is rather impressive. With so many different distinct styles curated together, there's so much to see and potentially something that speaks to everyone. What's more, the physical museum itself is great - a little congested in certain areas as guests milled about, but I definitely like how modern it felt and how it stretches over Wilshire (kind of cool to stand there and watch all of the cars passing below). Despite how big and spacious this place is, though, there were times inside the main building/gallery where it felt really hot and stuffy, so a bit more A/C would've been nice. Even though we spent a good chunk of the day wandering through so many of their halls and exhibits, I'd be lying if I said we got to see (and appreciate) everything that LACMA has to offer. My favorites were the pieces by Monet and Picasso, as well as the Pop Art wing with Warhol's pieces. However, I'm still kicking myself for neglecting the outside area and the very thing we came here for - the Urban Light display! Pretty horrendous on my part (I just wanted to see in the car with the A/C on blast), but at least it's accessible 24/7 to the public without needing to buy a ticket, so we can always correct that mistake the next time we're in LA. Which, hopefully, won't take nearly as long again.

I've been around 20 times and it has never disappointed me even a little. For anyone who hasn't been: the Castle has several rooms and extra corners where magicians are performing all night -- the Close-up Gallery, the Parlour of Prestidigitation, the Palace of Mystery, the Library Bar, the Peller Theatre, and house magicians throughout. Most rooms have two performers, one early and one late, so you can see several different acts in a single night. A quick warning from this trip: we arrived around 6:10. Doors opened at 5:00, but traffic and an unexpected pit stop made us miss a few early shows. Valet takes your car, you can pose for photos, then you check in with the maître d', who confirms you're on the list, meeting dress code, and set for the evening. After that you go through the secret entrance, say "open sesame," and the bookcase slides open into the club. Right in front of you is the bar and a piano playing with no one sitting at it. Don't panic -- that's just Irma, the house ghost. She knows every song, theme, melody, you name it. Just ask. I requested "Piano Man" and "Don't Stop Believin'." Our dinner reservation was at 6:30, so we headed upstairs to the dining room. The hostess sat us and our server, Jeffery, was wonderful. We ordered the rack of lamb with mashed potatoes and steamed squash and cucumber, the beet salad, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and for dessert key lime pie with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. The food was excellent. The lamb was cooked to perfection. The beet salad was so good it should be illegal. The shrimp were the size of small fish. The key lime pie had a bright lime kick and a graham cracker crust that melted in your mouth, and the ice cream made it even better. Rack of lamb: 10/10 Jumbo shrimp cocktail: 10/10 Beet salad: 10/10 Key lime pie and ice cream: 10/10 After dinner we started catching the shows, and they were outstanding. The best of them do material so complex that several have been on Penn & Teller: Fool Us -- and actually fooled Penn & Teller. That is not easy. That is an understatement. By the time we were ready to leave it was 1 a.m. Almost seven hours of dinner, magic, and wandering the Castle. Like every other night here, it was unforgettable.

It's only open Thursday to Sunday with a $15 entrance fee and reserving a time in advance is best, so plan accordingly. For me, it was an interesting place to pop into once but I don't see myself coming back again~ nor would I bring out of town guests. I like quirky and weird - i AM quirky and weird - but just felt confused when I left.

Came here last night for the All Star Comedy show at 9:45pm, and overall it was a great night out…read more-- with one frustrating hiccup at the door. I found the show through an ad promoting a 2-for-1 ticket deal: two tickets for the price of one ($15), with a two-drink minimum per person. The 2-for-1 was in the ad and even printed on the ticket itself. But when we went to scan in, the older gentleman checking tickets told us that wasn't how it worked. When we pointed out that it was exactly what had been advertised and says on the ticket, he said he'd "do us a favor" and let us in this time, but told us to "take care of our server." The venue wasn't full -- we were seated in the first section, and the upstairs wasn't being used at all -- so it's hard not to wonder if this was less about ticket policy and more about steering people toward bigger tips for the servers. Either way, it was a rough way to start our first visit to the Laugh Factory. Fortunately, everything after that was great. The hosts and comedians were hilarious, the servers were attentive, the drinks were good, and the venue itself was comfortable. I'd absolutely come back -- I'd just call ahead first to confirm ticket details so I don't have to deal with that unwelcoming entry experience again.

I can't comment on the food, because we had already eaten. I have had their food in the past, and it's just OK. Bar food. What do you expect? I HATE valet, and don't trust them from previous experiences at different places. Place is very clean, bathrooms needed attention. All kinds of different people would come in here, and they took Korean classes and it was a community like no other place I have ever seen in Los Angeles. Then one day, it was ALL OVER. When Covid began in March 2020, which was over 6 years ago, it became online courses only. Now, their course availability is STILL mostly online-only, with the exception of 2 or 3 classes. It's a HUGE PITY that KCCLA doesn't welcome back its community of Korean-learners. We used to share meals with the teachers and the office workers and the classmates would chat and network before lessons while sharing a meal. The online courses that are offered by KCCLA are NOT good. I've tried them multiple semesters and they're just not good. Many of the people who take KCCLA's online courses don't even live locally. This used to be a local hub, and now it's online low-quality classes with students who live out of state or out of town. What did the students and community here do for you to be so determined to keep us out and away ?

It's closer to and a bit milder than Avenue Q which is a more adult version of a parody on Sesame street. 　 The interesting twist is being able to see not only the puppets on tv monitors, which is the normal default, but also seeing humans moving their puppets. I will post photos since a picture is worth a thousand words. In one session, the audience is asked to shout out random words and the puppeteers must create a witty skit by incorporating the random words that can get rather racy. Cocktails, beers, wine are on sale on the outside courtyard and can be taken inside where there is table seating. 2 hours went by quickly. Entertaining, fun, touch louche, this is not a show for uptight prudes. Advance ticket sales and advanced limited parking spaces. It may be better to carpool if coming in a group. Limited street parking, and as usual, check the street signs for any restrictions. Former studio of Herb Alpert and originally set up by Charlie Chaplin, this is historic, hallowed ground. Kermit prominently stands guard and tips his hat from a rooftop position. There are stuffed animals and puppets on sale too before the show. Usually 2 shows on the weekend and one show on Fridays. If you didn't know her work, it's the most fun, colorful and happy art at the intersection of Impressionism, portals and optical illusion, where you squint your eyes and each segment of color is like a pixel in a tapestry of interwoven color and texture. The vibe was amazing ing and I just had to go see this art and support this artist. I arrived and found an entire treasure trove of fascinating art by dozens of artists. Each style is unique and well worth coming by. Imagine walking through a museum of the most amazing only talented artists and all the art is for sale. I bought two pieces. One of Shiri's of course. The art is reasonably priced and there are many different sizes. I highly recommend Artspace Warehouse for some of the best talent in the L.A. art world. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful and full of knowledge about each and every artist, the types of art and our chats were so chill- no pretentious vibes here. Just joy. This was really a thrill to see locals, families choosing art for their homes, and people like me who came a bit of a distance to share the art experience here.
