One day later my legs were killing me. Par for the course. Getting a massage has been a tradition. Part of the reward. Just like multiple breakfasts. Go someplace new every year. Discovered Jennifer and her five star reviews thanks to you all. Booked an appointment. I'll get it out of the way: There will be no more going someplace new next year. I am going to Jennifer. Again. And again. And again. So many things I liked. Her attitude was welcoming. Her personality friendly and warm. Her studio is just that. A small, inviting space with the right music and candles to set the relaxing mood. But what I liked most were her hands. Firm. Confident. Full of moves I had never experienced before. About twenty minutes into my hour massage I was completely unaware of what was happening. Like the best DJs. Or the best chefs. This might be the best masseuse. Still couldn't move the next day. She let me know what her methods were and how everything is tailored to fit my problem areas. She even goes above and beyond by teaching me about the different muscle groups and how they might be overstrained during my workouts. Most recently, she has sent me an email to incorporate stretches into my workouts in hopes of relieving my chronic back pain. Out of desperation, I just came to Yelp trying to find someone for a deep tissue or trigger point massage to ease off the pain, hopefully on the same day (it was a Sunday), and in the walking distance from me. I'm so glad I somehow blindly ended up with Rebecca. She did something called Ortho-Bionomy massage after explained what it is and how it works. It sounds very intriguing, turned out it worked like magic, at least for me. Initially, the pain eased off only slightly, but drastically better the 2nd day, then 2 days later was completely gone! As she mentioned, Ortho-Bionomy works by stimulating appropriate reflexes that monitor the lengthening and contracting of our muscle system, it stimulates inner awareness to awaken within the individual a sense of natural balance and well-being, this then allows the body to self-healing and getting back to our natural position, all through very gentle touch on certain points. I booked the 90-minute, as 60 minutes always ends too soon. Unlike previous "deep tissue" massages at some other, I did not fall asleep. Nathan kept me engaged and feelin' the burn.
