I called to make an appointment for brake repair and was told by the call center that next available appointment was in 3 weeks. I took the appointment, which was a Saturday. The service center than advised me that I had a leak that was covered under my warranty and that I can bring the car back on Monday. I told him to just keep the vehicle. I have been calling since Monday and the first call they said they were waiting on inspector, Tuesday the inspector just left, Wednesday the part needed the warranty company was trying to get it cheaper somewhere else, Thursday no answer, Friday no answer. My car has been at the service center for a week now and I cannot believe these people do not call to even give an update. I am now going to have to drive across town from work just to see if someone can give me some answers since they don't answer the phone. read more

We need other BMW Dealership options in the RGV, the service at Bert Ogden BMW is terrible, everybody just passes the bucket to each other and they don't solve your problem, took my vehicle for spark plugs and oil change on Dec 27, 2024, Today they haven't called me for the spark plugs, I've called and left messages over and over, service guy tells me he was sick and in and out of office, three weeks later and still no call for service or letting me know my spark plugs are here, if you take your vehicle for service it's an All Day thing there, clearly they can't keep up and understand customer service. We buy from them 100k plus vehicle and pay for service warranties etc, we need to be able to obtain good service or at least a call back. performance starts at the top. read more

I'm not sure how useful this is considering you don't have much of a choice in the Valley, but this BMW dealership really is sub par. Bert Ogen is your only choice in the Valley and they know it. The service guys--David and Amador--are as friendly and accommodating as possible, but that doesn't make up for the fact that the place is still severely understaffed and overbooked. They upgraded to a nicer and more convenient location a few years ago, but it still lacks in size and amenities for the huge volume of vehicles that it sells and services. I wouldn't go so far as to recommend you drive out of town solely to get your car serviced, but if you are going to a bigger city for some other reason, it would probably be a much more pleasant experience to get your service done there. And as for purchasing, Bert Ogden almost always has zero pre-owned cars in stock, so you're almost forced to go out of the city for that. read more

Wow. I just read the reviews and I have to say I disagree with the disagreeables. Service department is exceptional. I've never had any problems with the people there. Yes, it's true, there are very few employees in the service department, but you seem to forget there may be cars ahead of you being serviced. I've used their shuttle bus several times and there I would get a ride to work or picked up from my home, if need be. Oh, and if you decide to stick around there is an El Pato to get a cold one and food at. We went to visit McAllen after San Antonio and met up with a real great salesman, Ruben Lopez. I love my BMW and consider buying it as one of the best decisions I have ever made. The car itself is truly a superior piece of work. I cannot say enough positive things about the automobile itself. The management and finance people are incredible to work with and made buying a car from them an enjoyable experience. Sadly this dealership is really hit and miss when it comes to quality of service. They are always over booked and understaffed. The sales people are quite rude when they approach you and determine you are only on site to deal with a service issue. Even when you call in for an appointment and ask for a ride in the courtesy shuttle at a specific time you will usually end up waiting for an hour for it to return or be told that it is full. The cashier (the old bitter one) has a serious attitude problem when you attempt to pickup your keys from her desk. What really pisses me off the most is they sold my information to an extended warranty company who endlessly contacts me on Bert Ogden's behalf and harass me even after opting out of the service. When I mentioned this to other BMW owners they named Bert Ogden as the culprit in this practice as well. This was a really good experience UNTIL the car was delivered. After the car was delivered, I had to call several times to get my finalized paperwork sent to me. I called to ask about the license plates 10 days before the paper plates expired and was told, "you must not have purchased a BMW before, it takes 60 days" and again not having a call returned. The ONLY call I have received was to tell me the plates were in and to confirm the shipping address. I have left numerous messages with sales and management and had ZERO returned. I even paid a delivery fee for the car (to Dallas) and received a toll tag bill in addition for the toll roads taken during delivery. After all, they are saying I need to replace the part which is not covered thru warranty. Service is awful!!! I called to schedule my car for service on a Tuesday and the man at the service desk took down my name and no other info. He asked if I had bought the car there and then he went on to say that they had a slot open on Friday of that week at 9 am with a loaner provided. I asked him twice if that was all the info he needed and he stated that it was all he needed at that time. I called on Thursday, one day before to confirm and spoke to Jackie. She stated that she could not find any appointment and that after asking the service people nothing was written. This is horrible in comparison to San Antonio, I called them and they took all my info including my email. They emailed me two days before with a reminder of the appointment and one day before with a confirmation, now that's service!! This is my second trip to this location, I paid over 600$ for service on my bmw M235i and these services include cleaning out mass air intake, changing oil etc. Not long ago I was driving my car and I started feeling my car jolt and I took it to autozone and they said my mass air intake was going bad. I said theres no way since I RECENTLY got service done. They opened it up and it was filthy, like nothing had been cleaned out. Also after my service before, My car was left filthy, the inside was filled with dust , spots and marks all over. Anyways, I called BMW to not onlt complain about the mass air intake but also to ask about the charge pipe pricing. I spoke to some guy name frank who had helped me in services before(also not the best guy to ask anything for) and They were supposed to transfer me to parts but hung up. I called back and three times and I never spoke to anyone again because it just kept ringing and ringing. I have had several bad experiences with Bert Ogden BMW. After purchasing a used BMW, I took it to Bert Ogden to be serviced. When I got the car back, a set of jumper cables and a roll of shop towels I had in the trunk were gone. The previous owner of the car also told me that the original tool set was in the trunk, until a visit to the service department at Bert Ogden, when it disappeared. After purchasing a BMW from another dealership, it was involved in an accident. It was taken to Bert Ogden's body shop and I was told I would get it back in 24 days. It has now been over 2 and a half months and the car still isn't ready. Every week the employees have a new excuse to why they are so behind schedule. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. These experiences and others have driven me away from this business. I will never again purchase or service my cars here; I would rather go out of my way to another city to have work done on my BMWs. read more

A typical bad dealership experience. As my gf and myself are currently shopping for a fun car. Since we were looking at the current offerings of Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes, among other brands we then decided to give our time to Bert Ogden BMW. Previous luxury car buying experience for both of us have always been excellent. The heavy handed sales push , or reluctance to assist a certain category of vehicle common in the lower tier high volume brands had been nonexistent. Instead our experiences have always been by knowledgeable staff explaining their vehicles and providing an informative comparison of their vehicles to their respective competitors in a friendly accommodating atmosphere. That was not the case at Bert Ogden BMW. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly and quite energetic younger sales associate that approached our car to offer his assistance. We were actively interested in the M235i, which we articulated that was what we were looking for. The sales associate instead pushes us towards the BMW 5 series which is something we were not interested in. We deflect his push of a volume car sale pitch and instead focus on the black M235i. Once we head to the vehicle he starts speaking to me, yet i warn him the person that he needs to make happy is her. So he does, and asks what other vehicles she has been looking at. Instead of actually listening, all he can muster in his sales pitch is "ultimate driving machine" over and over. No professionalism or information on the actual vehicle or what makes the vehicle he is selling outperform, out class, or otherwise what would steer us towards an actual purchase. He instead berates her on how the other cars are crap and his car is the best without proof to back it up. Of course once we asked him to back up his claims, nothing, he was off script and unable to produce an honest unscripted genuine reply. He was stuck on "ultimate driving machine" pitch. Adding to fuel to the fire we see on the sticker an extra $5000 MARKET ADJUSTMENT above MSRP. Also known as, lets tack on to the price and see if anyone bites sticker. Once we called him out on it he said that was an adjustment for a popular vehicle, yet one that is so popular that it at the time still had not sold. I informed him that we don't deal with any dealership that attempts to play these types of games on the consumer, and that we were surprised by lack of professionalism that was coming out of this establishment. Noticing that we were not falling for this practice he offers to remove it and " work with us". By this time, we are done and politely excuse ourselves and leave. read more

I've done business with Bert Ogden BMW in the past and had a good experience that's why when I wanted another car the logical choice was to go back and get not one, but 2 vehicles. Unfortunately during the flooding in June we lost our 440i car. We had to cancel all the insurances we had for the car so we went to talk to Irene Ramirez in Finance. That's when my nightmare began! In JULY, we went and filled out all the required papers to get our money back. IRENE said it would take about six weeks..... 2 MONTHS later and after all the going back and forth we HAVE not gotten our money back!!! After calling 2 -3 times a day and getting no answer or return call from Irene we had to go talk to the store manager LEO LUNA. He "listened " to our concerns and did NOT make us feel any better. My question is: WHY when you're gonna buy a car fro them they roll out the red carpet for them, but when you are asking for a refund (MONEY YOU PAID) they make you feel like you are bothering them????!!!! i purchased a 2017 bmw x5 this past weekend. and, i was undecided about the whole process. my intention had been to trade in my mercedes for another mercedes or a landrover. but after visiting this dealership, i can't explain how nice everyone was to us, and we were there for quite a while. rico, our salesperson, was very knowledeable about the vehicles. he was very nice and patient. mr. leo luna, the manager, was ready to work with us, and ms. irene ramirez, in finance was very helpful and explained everything i needed to know. she even went the extra mile to show my 15 yr grandaugther what a typewritter looked like.. the showroom is very clean and comfortable. this was a good buying experience for me. i live in victoria texas but i plan to visit them again when i'm ready for another vehicle. read more
