They laid down boards to prevent damage as they drove their equipment over the grounds. They came very prepared, with a cherry picker, a clam, chipper, etc. They also cleaned very nicely. In fact, you could barely tell that a tree had come down once they were finished. In about three hours, they were finished. Steve and his crew were friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them for small or large jobs. I was very impressed with what they did and how they did it.

He even helped us put together the unassembled gas grill we had bought and was just sitting in the garage all summer because we were stuck!! You couldn't ask for nicer people or better workers. 2 years later. Two more trees removed and lots of cleanup of dead wood. Yard looks wonderful. He had an explanation that makes sense to me. He doesn't like setting up his Saturday estimate appointments far in advance because that's the only day he can schedule a crane for large removal jobs. So sometimes the crane availability interferes with appointments. I found the owner, Walt, to be very friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the half an hour I spent talking to him. He's extremely knowledgeable about removing trees. Like some of the other companies, this outfit seems to mostly specialize in large tree removal. They're extremely expensive for more mundane things like shrub trimming. My only complaint was the eye popping quote! I was quoted $4285.00 for hand pruning the sides of 400 Hawthorne Cockspur shrubs. (These are planted a foot & a half apart, forming a continuous hedge around my entire property.) He quoted less for electric trimming. I did a little experiment and it took me 2 minutes or less to hand prune both sides of one shrub. And I'm an old slightly disabled amateur. If I hire Living Water, that works out to $5.36 per minute or $321.38 per hour for pruning. That's big money - more than a Neurologist who went to school for 12 years! I'd definitely consider Living Water for tree removal, especially if it's something tricky...like working around fences or landscaping or neighbors. While I wasn't watching, they removed major healthy large limbs and stripped the tree of its leaves saying, "That's how photosynthesis works." No, it works via the leaves, as we all learned in 6th grade. We were shocked. Neighbors stopped by as they, too, were shocked. Our beautiful, healthy 40 foot tree died soon after. We agreed I would not pay him for killing our tree. I later read trees like this can increase home values by $10,000. To this day, I remain sickened by what happened and wish I would have sued for damages. We wanted twigs/thin dead branches removed in our back yard trees, too. This is a row of trees. Instead he cut them so each tree extended the same length into our yard - something I was not at all interested in. I cannot tell from the other reviews but maybe they used them for tree removal only. They might be good for that.

I hired KC to remove a small dying Elm tree and trim some branches off a giant Cottonwood. KC gave a great price and got it done within a few days. It wasn't a complicated job, but it looks great & the price was right. One weird thing though - we had some miscommunication about the job. I don't remember confirming yes/no with him after he handed me the estimate; I asked when he could do it and said I'd let him know. I said it wasn't an urgent job, and I was waiting for another quote. So we were quite surprised to come home 3 weeks later to a nicely trimmed tree (no mess)! I'm actually glad that he read my mind and did the job - I was meaning to call him - but it was pretty unusual!

We called them based on a postcard we received for a free estimate and that they had a certified arborist. We hired them based on their quick service and the information they gave about our trees and bushes as well as the options he provided. I'm a cautious buyer (and especially with tree, siding and roofing contractors - sorry contractors!).
