Disappointed to say the least. I remember when Board and Brew Tempe opened and let's just say new management has not been able to keep up with what it used to be. If I am correct ownership changed in the last 2 years or so and it has not been the same since the original franchislr( who I will leave nameless). Board and Brew Tempe used to bring the Californian vibes to Tempe, with the beach music and employee dress code. When I walked in today to hip-hop music and employees wearing Happy Dad seltzer Merchandise, I knew something was off. Not only were the vibes off, the cleanliness has visibly gone down hill. The employees have their personal belongings scattered across the ordering counter, the sofa dispenser area was wet and covered in straw wrappers. Any tables that customers were not sitting at were covered in crumbs, trash, and sauce so I decided to sit at the bar, where nobody even asked if I wanted a beer. Wiping down tables should be the easiest task. Alright, enough about the ambience and cleanliness. The food was below average today. I ordered my usual order, Baja chicken, with chips and a DC. The soda was too syrupy The bread was slightly stale and the chicken did not taste the same as it did, it did not taste like the quality it is supposed to be. I was so disappointed I almost said something to the workers but I couldn't even get myself to say anything before I left. I used to eat and get beers here all the time as an ASU student. Unless things change I do not see myself back. This location no longer holds itself to the standards of Californian locations. I hope management sees this and is able to make a change for the better. No more happy dad, and bring back the beach vibes that's all I ask. Some fresh bread would also be a nice touch. read more

It's so refreshing to see Board & Brew out here in Arizona! This used to be my go-to sandwich place back when I used to live in San Diego. It definitely still holds it's beach-bro roots. I've tried a few sandwiches here before, but the Baja Chicken is DEFINITELY my all time favorite. The grilled chicken breast with the grilled onions and melted cheese on top already got me drooling. And then they add jalapeños just to spice things up?! Even better. Then you gotta make sure you top it off with the special Board & Brew orange sauce (I actually don't know the name of it, only that it adds a completely different dimension of flavor to your sandwich). BOY just writing this review got me drooling already. This place is so good it's almost worth the drive up from Tucson just to grab a few sandwiches (one to eat there, one for the trip back, and another for tomorrow's lunch). We ordered this for the entire office twice so far. I had the same thing both times with no regrets - baja chicken sandwich all the way. The secret sauce - ha we have extra bottles in the fridge at work. I would like to actually come here for happy hour/dinner soon and check out the in house vibe. WOW. Thank you to who ever chose to put this amazing sandwich spot walking distance from where I live. I get the Baja chicken sandwich and it is so bomb. Especially if you like spicy food like me! It comes with jalapeños, but you could always take them off if you aren't a fan! The best part is their house sauce for the sandwiches. Actually, I can't decide what the best part is because they also have alcoholic Cider (I don't like beer) and if you have never had cider before well now is your chance!! Not really sure what to take from this place. Went by around 9PM on a Saturday looking for a lighter feed. Now, let's just say it's new so maybe the vibe isn't set. But the vibe felt a tad lame. The food, the roast beef sandwich and au jus were perfect. Can't complain there. Now the spicy beef sandwich I have issues, why do people always wan to use jalapeno for this stuff, jalapenos have such an uncomplimentary and pervasive flavor. Why not Anaheim Chiles? Just a quick bike ride away from my house, the moment I heard about board and brew I knew I needed to try it. A CA sandwich joint opening up its first AZ spot? Count me in! The vibe inside is very San Diego beach town and the service (for being counter order service) is so good! They check on you and make sure you're okay even though its order yourself. They have both local and CA brews on tap and color code the kegs to show you how much of each they have (such a genius idea)! Now for the main event - the sammies! All of the ingredients they use are I incredibly fresh, the meat is so lean, and the seasonings are perfectly balanced. When you first walk in, the price seems a little high but the amount of sandwich you get is HUGE. The secret sauce is tangy and spicy and sweet and is an amazing medley of flavors in the mouth! It's such a great laid back spot to hang out especially on their tiny patio. Love it and will definitely be coming back. OH, AND they offer a daily discount for military, fire, and police personnel! I heard great things about this sandwich shop, so my husband and and I drove from Gilbert to this location for lunch today. It was well worth the 30 minute drive. Ralph and his coworker with the really cool tattoos were just phenomenal people. The kind of people that you are so impressed with their kindness and work ethic that you just want to be friends. The sandwiches dipped in the special sauce were crazy good. You can tell the bread is baked fresh in their shop. The ingredients were fresh, and the lemonade was fantastic. Here is where you come in. Their location is incredible and probably expensive. It is located right by ASU and dependent on foot traffic. Because of Covid-19, few students are out and about. My boyfriend and I went here because Even Stevens closed their location, so we thought we would try this out... Turns out it was the most overpriced sub-par sub sandwiches we've ever had. To be blunt, the ingredients tasted very low-quality (you could get a similar sandwich at Jimmy Johns or Subway for much less money.) All we ordered was the Turkey Club and the Baja Chicken sandwiches. Their "secret sauce" was watery/weird and we agreed it didn't add anything great to either of our orders. I usually don't write reviews but everything tasted so plain and boring. Unfortunately, nothing about it seemed 'speciality' like it says on your logo. Amazing food!! I had actually come in to meet my friends very quickly and wasn't going to eat anything, but the owner came to our table and insisted that I try something. I had a veggie sandwich (on the house, thank you!) and it was great. The bread, meats, sauces, basically everything is all made in-house. All of the bread I tried was really soft and had a good crunchy outside (not quite sure how to describe it), but the SAUCE is the best part. Board and brew has some of the best sandwiches you will ever find! Don't think you can get away with one of their sandwiches without their secret sauce either, it's perfection! They have the best selection of sandwiches, hot or cold and have the freshest ingredients. Not to mention their beer selection is always on point. It tends to get quite busy in there but that is just because the location is near college life, just be patient and have a beer or order ahead. Most of the staff working there are college students so at times they can be lackadaisical but they are still nice and helpful. Recently we went in and Kelly P. was working, holy smokes some of the best customer service I have seen in a long time! She was the absolute best, running around everywhere in there and helping in every aspect. She was on top of everything and that made the experience that much better! read more

The food is the same as their San Diego locations but the atmosphere is much colder here. The staff is less upbeat, less inviting.
