Our experience at Neighborhood Services Bar + Restaurant, located beneath the Omni Hotel in Tempe, was unfortunately not a particularly memorable meal. While I can certainly understand the convenience for hotel guests, I would recommend managing expectations if you are visiting specifically for the dining experience. We started with the Chili Chilies, which I was especially excited to try because it's a personal favorite. Unfortunately, the eggs arrived burnt rather than over-easy, sitting on what we could only describe as Mexican masa--almost like an attempt at corn chips. Next came the Hash, but unfortunately, it also seemed to have spent far too long under the heating lamp. By that point, I decided the safest choice for my breakfast experience was simply going to be the poached eggs. I do want to be fair and say that every restaurant can have an off morning, and perhaps this was simply ours. However, between the food being overcooked or seemingly held under the heat lamp too long, the meal just didn't leave the impression we had hoped for. One other thing worth knowing if you're visiting: parking is a challenge. The nearby garages appeared to be reserved for valet parking, leaving us to park about a block away to avoid any possibility of being towed. Overall, I'd probably keep this one primarily on the radar for Omni hotel guests looking for convenience, rather than making it a destination breakfast. I was traveling for work and needing a light lunch. Stumbled upon this restaurant through Yelp and decided to check it out. I was sold by the brussels. It's a cute restaurant connected to the Omni hotel with a very diverse and fresh menu. The brussels are roasted and topped with maple vinaigrette, cheese, and bacon. I had mine without bacon and was grateful they were easy with accommodations. The Brussels exceeded my expectations and the maple vinaigrette stole the show. The portion was plenty and the service was excellent. Would recommend for lunch and dinner needs. read more

The bartenders are amazing! Cece and Sarah were so nice and welcoming. I would recommend going here during their golden hour from 3 -5pm. Such good deals on drinks and food. My boyfriend and I came for drinks while we waited until the rooftop bar restaurant opened to get food (Lucero - dont go there though). We ended up coming back down to get fish and chips and a burger and it was so good! I highly recommend checking out the restaurant on the lobby level. So much better! Stopped in for lunch while walking around the Tempe Arts Festival. We were surprised at how empty it was during such a busy time but it didn't stop the bartender from welcoming us and giving us the choice of sitting at the bar or in the restaurant so we sat in the restaurant. We both ordered the fish and chips and while the fish was good the outside had a strange texture and wasn't crispy like I expected. This place was great. Staying at the Omni hotel and got in about 8pm. Checked out the hotel bar and was greeted by Jamel. His smile and enthusiasm won me over immediately. Asked for a beer suggestion he said Church, it was on point. He also suggested the Philly cheesesteak with garlic fries and that was amazing as well! Jamel knows the menu and can pick some winners. We Checked in the hotel a day ago. Front desk was very helpful to explained all the amenities. Had a dinner last night. Slow service showed from the table next to us. We had a decent meal, service was on par, just slow. Went down this morning for breakfast 6:45. They hadn't ready for us, said open at 7am. 7 am door was not open on time. 2 mins late. We were seated first, however order put in third somehow. Table next to us got their food and leave in 20mins. Our food showed up 25mins later, it made my son late to be at ASU, missed the team activity this morning. I hope this is just a bad day from the restaurant and hotel. Went here for breakfast while staying at the Omni this past weekend. They had a pretty good looking breakfast menu and lunch/dinner menu. It was very quiet in the morning. There was only like two other families inside so I loved that. The waitress was really sweet and friendly. I ordered the biscuits and chorizo gravy and smoked bacon on the side with a glass of OJ. The chorizo gravy was so rich, creamy, and delicious. I have never had chorizo gravy but I may have to make this at home one day. The bacon was perfectly good and had a great smoked flavor. It was thick cut as well. I really had such a great breakfast that I decided to come back for dinner after finishing my event. For dinner I got a complimentary glass of wine for joining the OMNI rewards program. I ordered an app of the fried shrimp. The gulf shrimp were huge and succulent. They had a very light fry and crispy. Juicy and perfect. The cocktail sauce was very basic but delicious as well. I really loved dining here and hope to dine here again in the future while in Arizona. I would definitely recommend eating here even if you are not staying at the hotel. read more

Neighborhood Services Bar and Restaurant is located on the first floor of the Omni Hotel and it is honestly a delight. Great food, delightful service, and an interesting ambiance! The last couple times I've stayed due to work and when I am done for the day I'm just tired. I found myself here frequently from either grabbing a quick drink at the bar or having dinner in the dining room. I loved sitting at the bar because it is deceptively large with two televisions so watching football on a Monday night was an easy request. No sound, but that's fine. The bartenders have always been wonderful. They are personable, attentive, and make great drinks. I largely stuck to the seasonal gimlet which was very smooth and more berry forward than a typical gimlet. Yet, I very much enjoyed it. The blood orange margarita also was a gem being more tart and yet that nice tequila kick. Both were very smooth. Every once in awhile I'd go off menu and ask the bartender to make me whatever. Most where vodka collins variations but all was delicious. The food was fantastic too. I had the burger thrice because I loved it so. I ordered without French fries because it is a half pound burger - I have no room for fries! I ordered it once with and it was a huge pile of fries! The burger is cooked medium - very flavorful, seasoned wonderfully, with free flowing juices. The bun was soft and tender. It comes with this mince tomato and pickle which I live because every bite has a pop of flavor! I ordered the shrimp and polenta as well. It was lovely. It is a much lighter meal than the burger with mildly spicy sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp. The polenta was great - creamier than most polenta I have eaten, mild flavor, very tasty especially mixed with the voodoo sauce. I love the ambiance. I'm not sure how to describe it - light wood tones mixed with floor to ceiling white subway tile and nice glow lamps. Occasionally they had live music here as well which was also great - the musician sang very well and was especially talented. All in all a great hotel restaurant! read more

We have only been here for drinks, so I can't speak for the food. I can say that the decor of this place is absolutely lovely. There is a lot of ASU memorabilia on the wall, which make sense since it is smack in the middle of ASU area. There are lots of intimate seating areas and a large patio. We went at around 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday and we surprised it was almost completely empty. I'm not sure if that's the norm or we were too early or it was just a weird day. This is a restaurant inside the new Omni hotel in Tempe. Everything is brand new, beautifully decorated, and clean. Ambiance is on the nicer, trendy side but can also could be casual. This is my first time dining here but second time visiting this location. Both times, they had really great service. My husband and I went on a Sunday night and we were the only people in the dining room. Not sure if that coincided with the high level of service, but I was impressed regardless. The staff were all younger but they were all very helpful and professional. They were dressed the part and acted the part. They were quick and got us seated right away. Bradley was our server and he was super attentive. He frequently checked in on us, made sure our drinks were full all the time. When we took a break from our food, it's like he could read our body language and came over and moved us into the next phase of dining The food itself was pretty good. You can see that they know what they're doing. I got the oven roasted chicken and it was super moist. I feel like chicken is a good test of a kitchen's culinary skill and this place made good chicken. The skin was salty and slightly crispy. The saltiness was a little extra for me since I'm sensitive to salty food but it was a good balance a more subdued chicken. The gigantic bed of mashed potatoes underneath was also really good. The bed of salad had a light vinaigrette, enough to flavor and not overpower. The mac n cheese had an interesting flavor. Of course it was perfectly creamy and cheesy but also had a light lemon flavor to it. Super subtle. My husband's salad -- He enjoyed it. I took a small bite so not sure if I could speak about it. I loved the tres leches. Really moist and sweet. Had some tangerine bits that helps to balance it. They do have a bar seating area at the entrance. I did have a margarita. That was probably the worst part of the dining experience but didn't bother me enough to effect the rating. I'd try another drink next time. It's on the newer side and I had a great time. Not only is this such an amazing venue for the vibes and the location, the concept is absolutely outstanding. There was a game "librarian" named Ross who works the game section who was such a pleasure to interact with. When we walked over to the sections of games, he introduced himself to us and then heard a little bit about our group and recommended multiple games that would fit perfect for us. $6 per person to play games can seem excessive at first but at the end of the day you have fresh brand new games that are an amazing condition and have someone that brings the vibes directly to you. I absolutely recommend this place if you're visiting Scottsdale/Tempe, hands-down one of my favorite places I've been to. read more

We came by on a weekend evening and we were the only ones there! Which was actually amazing because the decor, ambiance, service made us feel we were VIPs who had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We got seated promptly but of course it was just us. The waiter and host were super welcoming and friendly! We ordered the Nacho Platter, Rigatoni alla Vodka, and Bay of Fundy Salmon. The restaurant's inside the Omni Hotel however the food is on par with stand alone restaurants. My favorite was the nachos which were to die for. The presentation was lovely and the ingredients fresh and tasty. They checked in on us often and we enjoyed the light conversations. My best friend and I met up in Phoenix for a music festival in Downtown Tempe. We spontaneous ended up at Neighborhood Services Bar. Our objective was to have Sunday brunch but that morphed into us hanging out at the bar until we had to leave for the airport in the late afternoon. We had such a great time! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for striking up conversations with both the staff and fellow patrons.
