Five stars for the drinks. Three stars for the food. Great vibe. Good music. A great place to meet up with friends and hang out. We were out late and we needed some food in a Saturday. Saw this place had good reviews, so we stopped in around 11 PM. It Wasn't too crowded. The drinks... Five stars! The bartender did an amazing job. We did Mexican candy shots. Plus several cocktails and we wete not disappointed. They sell pizza by the slice. We did pizza slices and wings. The food was not that great, but it got the job done.

Overall food was good and authentically made. Wait time ended up being more than what I'd expect for how late it was but given the Tempe Arts Fest was in town and there was live music that night - all is forgiven. I love that they have the wall full of owls/owl art and bundles of family fun games including some that I've never even seen before - kills the wait time for sure - though our party really did not need it. Our waitress was also very nice and accommodating, never forgot a single thing we asked, and was VERY prompt with my lemon for water. I can definitely appreciate that during a rush. Also can't forget to check out their pinball machines next time and take a picture next to the tree with an I definitely recommend the wings. Because I make my own pizza - I'm pretty hard to please and had a major FOMO moment when the sidewalk surfer came out to the next table and she explained it was crafted for the skateboard company they partner with, which is why they have all the skateboards on the wall. BUT - since they have a rotating weekly special, we caught this pie on its last day so I should be grateful. History geek girl moment saved. I'll be back for you!!‍‍

Super cool restaurant with amazing decor, artwork and provides a dark, moody atmosphere. We came in for dinner during the week. We were greeted and seated right away for two. Our server Boston was friendly, let us know about the pizza slice sizes and checked in on our table. The food we order was delicious and we really enjoyed our dinner. The pizza was toasty and warm. We both got full with one slice plus our sides. The wings were ordered tossed and were saucy. The ranch was good. The fries were flavorful and crispy. They have coke products. We ordered the following items. - Pep Slice (Classic Pepperoni). $4.25 -So Fresh So Clean Slice (Veggie) $4.75 -Wing (6) $10 - Wise Fries $6 - Dr. Pepper $3 Our total after tax was around $30. We would recommend and we would come again.

Gosh I love this place!!! The pizza is amazing, I will say I like ordering the individual slices better than a whole pie because the crust is crispier. The wings are delicious and perfect paired with the Wise Fries. The service is immaculate we watched game 4 of the NBA finals here and the whole staff made sure we had the right channel & even cheered with us.

I came back two days in a rowww because it was that good. Starting Friday, I came with a friend and sat at the bar. We both ordered the Tongue in Groove, and it's officially my new favorite thing. The pizza was amazingggg. so amazing that I came back Saturday at lunch with my family. This time we sat in a booth inside and went for a more laid-back kind of day. Really cute decor. Mac bites: 10/10. Fries: 10/10. Our bartender on Saturday was so sweet and energetic. Loved everything she recommended.

Nice and cozy style eatery and some firs ahh pizzas!! When it comes to options and the brick oven I'd add them to the list, they have such a great night owl vibe to them located on the corner they're just chill! We went late and appreciated not feeling like we were being rushed or hurried to order. They have an outside or patio fire pit that's absolutely gorgeous and even more so during our cold winter and yes I said cold don't judge me inside is nice and they have this dope skateboard wall that really add unique design taste to the place. With so many good pizza joints around I feel like people would like them as well. This spot is for the night owls we got pizza but it was so good I didn't get to get a snapshot of it lol like I always say the proof is in the pudding it didn't have a chance I got yall next go!

We really love Night Owl in Scottsdale, and we're happy they opened another location in Tempe, closer to our stomping grounds. The theme is the same here--vintage owls, video games, skateboards, and wood log slices. I will say, though, that this location is a little less "ka-pow" than the other location. There is no giant alligator or neon clowns or shoes in the ceiling (at least none that I saw). But no worries! The great service and delicious food are here, and it is still a cool decor with games. The patio is really great here, to, with a big shade tree and steering lights. We ordered a caesar salad and a The Boss pizza. The Caesar salad was delicious - - the dressing was good, and I can be picky about dressing. The pizza was so yummy, with so much meat. The quest here is really good like a light airy bread. Just as our visits to the other location, we had a great time and a great meal. This is already a place we go back to, and I don't expect that to change.

I didn't realize the prior restaurant Golden Pineapple has become a new Night Owl location. This Mill location opened 2 weeks ago per staff. I'm not mad at that! I used to enjoy this spot when it was Golden Pineapple and we are regulars at the Scottsdale Night Owl so we were happy to come in and support the new location. This Mill Ave restaurant has a pinball alcove in the back and other games too. There's also Zoltar machine near the fireplace. It's a larger overall footprint. More bar seating and tables, however smaller patio for outdoor seating. This location offers the same (or very similar) menu. I noticed they have a cocktail called "Golden Pineapple" as a nod to the previous place. So in honor of that, I ordered it. It's a tiki type frozen drink and when it's almost 80 degrees in December, a frozen cocktail totally works :) It's tasty. Think piña colada type drink. I also ordered the lunch special- a slice of pepperoni pizza and 4 wings. They taste as good here as the other location. I like the burgers at Night Owl and that's usually what I order but we came in this time for just a snack and to check it out. For being open only 2 weeks things went smoothly and everything as expected. That's a good sign for a second location.

Skinny slice for $5 a pop. Not worth it.

This place used to have amazing pizza. I was regularly coming by at least once a week. However the consistency isn't really there. Slices used to be thick with tons of toppings. Now the slices are pretty skimpy. I think maybe it depends on who's in the kitchen.

I had high hopes for Night Owl because I've had multiple friends tell me great feedback about it. We finally got to try when they opened a Tempe location and unfortunately I was disappointed. The pizza and wings, according to my partner were good, but for me and my boys it wasn't as good as we expected it to be. The burger was very bland, even ate the other half the next day to see if I was just not in the mood for it the night before but it was still bland and no good for me. I did get an upgrade on my fries for extra $$, and got the Wise Fries. Glad I did because that's all I ate that night. It was really good and we had to order another serving. For the price we paid, I wish the food was better. Our server was nice and we have no complaints. The place was cool and had interesting decor. The game room was a little lackluster for us, I think my kids have been spoiled from the other place we go to.

Fun vibe and cool decor. Private parking lot makes it easy to visit this Tempe spot. Inside is cool decored with owls, skate stuff, and pinball. Loud atmosphere. Service was great and food was good. Fries got a little soggy with the sauce for the bottom bunch of fries. The Mac bites were yum. Pizza by the slice for $5.

Stopped her while visiting our son in Tempe, it's very close to his apartment so wanted to give it a try. The place is super cute with so much to look at. Our server was new but very helpful with the menu and willing to get answers for us if she wasn't sure about our questions. The pizza crust was nice and crispy and remind that way until gone. The wings and fries were very good as well. The menu is pretty simple but we saw many other things we'd like to try the next time we go. We had a great time in their little video game area after we ate.

Came here because we were at a loss for cooking dinner.. My wife had been out all afternoon and I had been working so I said 'let's do night owl'. We have been here plenty of times and it's always a good choice. Tonight was a little less 'as good'. We had a half & half pizza (Wise & Italian) and a dozen wings. Some of the wings were so smashed up they had multiple pieces of little bones throughout the wings. I know this isn't the chef/cooks issue, but it makes for a less favorable time while you're trying not to swallow broken bone pieces.. The pizza was ok - the Italian comes with a 'balsamic vinegarette' which is not so good. It's very 'vinegary' more than balsamic and it grossly overpowers the flavor of the pizza (which is fine otherwise). The vinegarette would be better as a side dipper in my opinion, then you can adjust on the fly. We only ate 2 slices, a drink each and took the remainder home.

The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG.

From the moment we arrived, the restaurant had such great vibes. There was also a subtle, almost secretive animal theme throughout the space that added a really cool touch. The hostess and waitstaff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The drinks were good, but the food was definitely the star. The milk bread was absolutely delicious, and the pibil dumplings were also really good. My only complaint is that they only came with three pieces, which felt a little expensive for the portion. The beef tartare was another standout. It was delicious on its own and paired really well with the banana chip, which added a nice contrast in texture and flavor. I would probably skip the white oak grilled skewers, though. They were pretty burnt, and unfortunately, they didn't really stand out to me compared to the other dishes. The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection. We asked if they could prepare the two halves of the ribeye at different temperatures since my wife prefers her steak closer to medium, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. They even comped our milk bread because it took a little longer than expected to come out, which was a really nice gesture. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. It felt like such a perfect date night spot or place to celebrate something special. The servers were also extremely attentive the entire night. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Honestly, I'm sitting here craving the food again just looking back at the pictures I took. This is definitely one of those restaurants that sticks in your mind long after you leave.

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.

But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.

Back then, the cocktails felt intentional and creative, not just rushed out for volume. The staff remembered regulars, conversations flowed naturally, and the whole place had this warm, eclectic energy that made you want to stay for hours. Even on busy nights, it somehow still felt personal. Unfortunately, over the last couple of years, the vibe has changed quite a bit. The drinks just aren't as consistently good as they used to be, especially considering the prices now.
