While visiting Panther Creek Brews there was a non-descript food truck there with a hand-written…read moremenu. I took a look at the menu and it didn't really resemble what most food trucks offer. The offerings indicated someone who cooked using a bit of flair and looked like they knew how to enhance a dish with sauces. I selected the Rosemary Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas. Now these are not like any quesadilla I've had as a "appetizer" at many restaurants, this was a creative melding of intricate flavors into a quasi-soft shell taco/quesadilla. The grilled chicken had great flavor and the bacon and ranch really complemented the quesadilla. The tortilla was perfect, slightly crisp, and held the entire quesadilla together and didn't fall apart after the first bite. To top it all off...I got to meet the owners/operators Frankie and Tony Wong. This couple works hard, serve up great food, and are really fun to talk to. Highly recommend you like and subscribe to their FB Page. Their menu is a dry erase board and changes daily, I can't wait to see what special item they will create next. https://www.facebook.com/Myrootsfoodtruck

This food truck stopped by today for lunch so I went out and grabbed a bite. It was pretty good and…read moredefinitely large portions! The TRIPLE LAYER TOMATO AND BASIL GRILLED CHEESE ON SOURDOUGH was delish! Soft, with a crunchy outside and surprisingly not too much bread. A good amount of cheese and flavor. I'd definitely recommend. CRINKLE CUT FRIES were over cooked. I'm sad to say I didn't even finish them, which is rare for me since this cut of fries is my absolute favorite! Just too crunch and the flavor was heavy on the oil, rather than potato. Total cost was $9 before tip, which made it one of the least expensive items on the truck. Customer service was professional. Food was made quickly and from order. Pretty good, IMO.

I will start with two caveats to be in the open. First, the food was free for me due to an event…read more This does not shade my reviews, but I do like to be transparent. Second, fried "tator tots", even homemade, are not my primary go to, but a solid 4+ for presentation, taste, and execution. I had the tradish (I read this as something with radishes at first. LOL) which is their traditional tater cake. What is a tater cake? I would say something like a tater tot (huge, not tots) or caked hashbrowns covered with goodness. What is the goodness? Varies by type, but the tradish is somewhat breakfasty (this would be smothered and covered with whatever Waffle House calls bacon and sour cream topped). Slap on a side of sauce and you are rolling. How did it taste? Bourbon bacon - nuff said. And a nice portion of bacon for the price. I recommend starting with the main pile and then adding in the sauce to get the contrast. I liked it plain, but it is fairly rich. Did I mention bourbon bacon? As for the other items, one of my friends had the Jud Spud (very southern with pulled pork and pimento cheese) and another grabbed a mac attack (mac & cheese made). I got small bite of each and found the Jud a bit more to my liking, as it was not quite as rich as the rest. They also had tachos (tater tot nachos), a sweet potato based meal, and a couple of sandwiches like Chicken & Bacon. Man, that bacon keeps coming back to this review. Must be a food group. I am curious about their sandwiches now. If I run into them again around town, I may have to indulge (they do fried pickles on the pulled pork? What?). You can find them on social media or streetfoodfinder.com.

I recently attended a Yelp event that featured food trucks, one of them being Tennessee Tatercakes…read more These tatercakes are delicious! They're much like the old school "potato cakes" you make on the stove-top with leftover mashed potatoes--but deep fried so that the end result is something crispy and textured on the outside but smooth and creamy in the middle, buttery and flavorful throughout. They make a variety of flavors to choose from with different toppings. We had the traditional (with bacon, sour cream, etc.) and the mac attack (covered in creamy mac and cheese). Both were excellent and there were a ton of varieties we would try again in the future if we spot this food truck out and about in Nashville.
