We were visiting the Brookings area when our Labrador became suddenly ill and died at a nearby vet clinic. As we weren't still in town when her cremated remains came back, I contacted Nanette at Boardwalk Mail Services for help. She was awesome! She took time from her day to personally retrieve the remains from the vet, pack them extremely carefully, and send them to our home in AZ. She was very professional, compassionate, and helpful. Our dog was a hero - a working disaster search dog, that spent her life training to save lives - and she deserved a hero's farewell. Nanette gave her and us that closure. This is customer service at it's finest, and I can tell from my interaction with her, that this is also her normal way of doing business. So I highly recommend Boardwalk Mail Services. Boardwalk Mail Service has a great feature - it has a separate mail box area with 24-hour passcode access. So even after the main office is closed, you can still get your mail! But you have to have the code to get in, so it's not just open to the public! When I went into the mailbox location on Railroad, the owner acted like I was annoying him by asking for information on a box rental. The owners here are really friendly and very nice. I have shipped UPS and FedEx from here, and had no problems either time. They also have local goods for sale - hats, purses, t-shirts, gourmet food items, jewelry, etc. So if you have to wait for service, you can browse. Rates for a box are good - and again - 24 hour access makes it really convenient! read more

TERRIBLE customer service! Twice now the employees were not wearing masks or asking others inside the shop to do so. When I asked if masks were not required, the heavyset female employee behind the counter said it was, she was just lazy.
