After 20 years of riding the tram, just like everything else in the US, it is now junk, too. Ride on 7/9/24 evenings Middle Aged tan gentleman with a mustache driving pink Jeep led to the most unpleasant experience for a service provided that the consumer psi for. No reason to take 47 minutes from one end to the other - oh besides driving at a snails pace, stopping to talk to other drivers coming the other way as well as speaking to a homeless like person. If OC Tram has any integrity in business I would at least investigate the ability of that driver whether he needs glasses, was under the influence or should take early retirement. Only got a 1 because 0 isn't an option. After 3 tries to flag down a tram I asked at the info center where to catch it. (After walking over 1 mile down the boardwalk). He said, they stop at the playground, you can get on there. As the tram approached, I flagged him down... he waved me off and kept going, (not here he says as he drives by). So after this, my 4th attempt to get on, and being exactly where I was told to be to get on. I walked the 1 mile + back to my hotel. You should just shut this down. It's pointless. read more

It was nice to ride but way too expensive! $5 per person including small children! Stops frequently so hope you're not in a hurry

If you've ever felt like hot oil in a frying pan, you know what the Ocean City Boardwalk is like on a hot summer day! You've probably also seen those lucky people gliding past you sitting in the open-air (but SHADED) electric "trams". You know what "Elite" is on Yelp but to be "elite" in LIFE... well, that's another matter! Now my yelper friends, you too can sail leisurely past the baking masses trudging in the blistering sun: all you have to do is plan your attack! Park your car at the END of the Boardwalk, dart quickly into the entrance AROUND BACK, and for a mere $3 each way, the "magic carpet" (alias the "tram") is waiting to take you in shaded splendor past the struggling hordes shuffling in the blistering sun from one tee-shirt shop to the next! Sound good? It IS! In fact, the only reason they didn't get the full 5-stars is the numerous stops (any other lucky ticket-holder can flag them down and hop on). It can take up to an hour for the tram to go "one-way" from the "inlet" at S. Division St., all the way to the end of the Boardwalk @ 27th. But hey,- it sure beats walking out there in the OVEN! The cashier at the Inlet ticket booth was rude. It's unfortunate that visitors have no other options

The drivers are so rude. They drive past and bark full when there are benches free. My older kids were treated so poorly they wasted their tram tickets by getting an uber for cheaper. Perhaps they need to start hiring some younger people that arent so miserable. The elder lady working in the booth was the opposite. She was extremely friendly and helpful. read more

The best time in Ocean City city is taking the Boardwalk Trans. From the day time to night time Ocean City boardwalk alway look great and seeing all of the boardwalk and people walking by. Video and pictures of the area. From my mother up to me. I seen this place change all my life. It worth taking the trams at Ocean City. And if you what you can even see place you my what to eat or stay at a future stay. But remember when you get off you have to pay you way back. be sure you now how many block before you get on or off you end. You my have to walk. Great place but save your money. :) read more

I was cheated by the conductor on 7/1/21. After being told by the hotel reception that the charge was $4 per person for a single ride I approached the conductor and he insisted it was $8 and that it would only be valid for a one way ride as opposed to a full day pass. I ended up paying $24 instead of $12 for a single ride that was about 2 mins. He was also very rude to me and my kids. Shame on this business for hiring dishonest people! I will be sharing my review with other sites as well as friends and neighbors and discouraging everyone from using your services. read more

Waited over 1 hr multiple times. We ask the tram attendant who was going in the opposite direction how long till we get the tram . She said one would be coming very soon. One hr later the next tram arrives. It's the tram with the women who said one would be coming shortly. Oc needs a better way to transport people and a more compedient staff of people. read more

We were shopping for several hours on the boardwalk when my Mom got tired and wanted to go back to the room. So we waited with her at the Tram stop on the inlet for the next Tram to come. When it came the lady working the Tram was super helpful. She helped my Mom on the Tram and made sure she was aware of her stop. That means a lot. She definitely went the extra mile. Its nice to get you up in down the boardwalk, but you have to have exact money ($3.00) and you pay that every time you get on and off. Its really congested at times and you can only board the tram from one side. Also the tram stops running at 11:00 or midnight and you either have to walk or catch the bus after that. read more

The operator does not make change so you must have exactly $4 or however much depending on how many tickets you need. I find that a little sketchy, they must make a fortune off of that alone. People constantly stop the tram to ask questions, although I can't blame the tram operator for that. The service people that run this tram are the rudest and lack any customer service skills whatsoever. They act like they are getting a cut of the outrageous three bucks you pay to be squeezed into a row of seats meant for five and they cram six in. The parents with the stroller that we shared a car with were treated as if they had a nerve to be taking up extra space with their stroller! Joseph O., the driver tonight, lacked manners, customer service skills and was probably too old to be driving because he clearly was an angry individual. Maybe he was up past his bedtime, it was close to midnight. He talked down to me and the young mother with an infant and when I asked his name he ignored me. I asked again and he pulled his badge out as if to say " read it!" . I couldn't see it so I tried to pull it closer and he smacked my arm off and yelled that I had no right to touch his badge and made a scene! I've been coming to OCMD sixty years. My parents lived here twenty years. I can remember how horrible this tram was thirty years ago, and swore never to use it again! My daughter injured her knee and just couldn't make the walk back to eighth street from the pier, so we conceded to use the tram. NEVER AGAIN! I also could not believe how many times we stopped, once for ten minutes, and no one was boarding or departing. The driver just plain stopped. Maybe it was his coffee break. I will be reporting Joseph O. In the morning, or if it is closed due to Labor Day , Tuesday the latest. read more

I took a tram on my way back to my hotel with my wife and son late tonight and was told that i had to walk because they couldnt take his wagon. even though there was clearly a open row and i took his wagon on the trip down. I even explained to the driver, Tim that it was 25 blocks to my hotel and still he didntbudge. I hope somethings done about this. scott read more

These guys and gals are great. They were going to shut it down yesterday due to weather after we were waiting for it at the beginning of the boardwalk for it for like 20 mins. My dad had been talking to the supervisor about how much he loves the trams because he can't walk well because he needs a new hip. Instead of shutting it down, they allowed one more ride so my dad could get back to his hotel. I really appreciate their generosity and kindness! read more

Terrible! We saw the Boardwalk Trams several times during the week and decided that one day after we came in from the beach, we would get the "all day" pass and just go up and down the boardwalk shopping and eating at our leisure, using this for transportation. We had an older adult with us so we figured this was a good way to get around. Well we found out that one way down the boardwalk is $3/person. When we said, "We'd like the all day pass," the money collector on the back said, "Oh, it's only good until 4pm." It was 5pm at that time. Silly rules for being an "all day pass." So just be aware that you'll lose a day at the beach if you want to use the all day pass from 11am-4pm, otherwise you are paying $3/person for a one way ride. We decided to walk all the way down the boardwalk and pay the $3/person one way back to get back to our hotel. Well, we must have passed 10 trams coming in the opposite direction, but none came in the direction we were headed. We asked 2 or 3 drivers coming the opposite way what the problem was and they all said, "One will be coming shortly!" Never did. Ended up having to walk the whole back, which is a few miles. Virgina Beach has a very nice trolley we used everyday and we were definitely disappointed with Ocean City's Boardwalk Trams. read more
