I asked for eyebrow threading and upper lip. I loved my threader. Her name is Nisa (might be spelled differently) and she was so funny and easy to talk to. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but going to a new brow place always feels like a risk. There is always the fear of potentially getting your brows messed up. Nisa and I laughed about this. I told her I wanted my brows thick and long. She determined a light clean up with be good for them and I was really happy with the results. We giggled about past nightmare brow stories and how threading one side of the face can be more painful than the other sometimes. It was good convo and above all else a good experience. Eyebrow threading is $15 and upper lip was $10. I'm looking forward to returning and getting my brows done here again.

On walking in for my first ever visit, I was shocked to be greeted in a bright, clean, and very quiet spot. I was the only customer and was quickly greeted by Nisa. I appreciated that she asked what service I'd like to get and I asked her the cost ahead of time, as the service list was scrolling across the digital screen and had already passed the threading services. She told me to have a seat and then went to wash her hands, and came back to begin my eyebrow threading service. She was nice and personable and asked me how I like my eyebrows. I thought it was a nice gesture that she recognized that I had never been to the business and usually go elsewhere, so she acknowledged wanting to learn more about the thickness I like and shape. She worked quickly to clean up my brows and while working a couple of other customers came in and she was able to greet them while still providing my service. She was patient and kept providing the mirror for me to provide feedback to her on whether I was happy with my brows or if I wanted her to continue working to remove any fine hairs or to continue improving the shape. This visit definitely exceeded my expectations because I was not expecting it to be personable and to have someone so patient who really did value my happiness with my brows. Overall great service and I would recommend this place to others for your brow services. I will definitely return. I also think this is a newer location and she did tell me they have been on West broad for many years, so seems like a place with a good history.

Skn & Wax Bar is in a very cute and clean salon studio on the West side, and the owner, Kendra, has organized and designed it with the cutest decor. On top of that, her space is absolutely spotless. She uses the best products for absolutely everything, from the wax down to the table cover + draping cloths. Kendra is incredibly kind + personable, the type of person who immediately makes you feel comfortable. I'm an extroverted person who doesn't necessarily struggle with timidity, but still, she has the kind of personality that I imagine makes even shy or withdrawn people very comfortable--she's just naturally sweet and kind with a positive and joyful disposition. I went here not having been waxed in over six months, so you can imagine what we were working with. Cut to my shock going from 'literally cannot live like this one more day' to 'OMG this is the best wax of my life' within 30m. Kendra was *extremely* detail-oriented and made sure she left nothing behind. It wasn't a super fast wax, and in fact it took some time (about 35-40m , realistically), but I've had plenty of fast waxes in my life only to get home later and find lots of little hairs still hanging around. Not this time! I knew it looked and felt good when I left, but it wasn't until later when I was at home showering that I realized that, perhaps for the first time in my two decades of waxing, I was really, truly, completely bare. I can't tell you how clean and amazing it feels! As for pain, which I see as collateral damage, but I totally understand is the dealbreaker for many people: Kendra has a great method that actually protects you from excessive pain, even in the tenderest of spots. She's also very cautious to instruct you to take a deep inhale when she knows it will be more harsh, which helps tremendously. Overall, it barely hurt at all, and I definitely had NO lingering pain when I left (which is not always the story with waxing). Kendra has a client for life in me. Due to covid she has take greater practices to keep everyone safe. She takes temperatures and sanitize your hands before entering into the business. Employees are cautions and wipe everything between each customer. With time for drying of each surface after cleaning. I feel more like family than a customer each visit.

Going to Glamour Eyes will permanently harm your natural lashes!…read more Professionals certified in lash extensions know that you should not put more than one natural lash to each extension, but Glamour does this. I recently had my extensions removed and they had clumped like 5-7 natural lashes together! This wreaks havoc on the growth of your natural lashes, they will never be the same. I also had the glue all over my eyelids (when it's only supposed to be on the actual lash), and this gave me a really severe allergic reaction where my eyes puffed up to three times their normal size! I had to get the extensions removed and now have only my stubby little natural lashes (prior to Glamour eyes, I had really beautiful lashes). You're way more likely to get an allergic reaction if the glue is touching your skin, even if you don't have a problem with allergies or anything normally. This company is irresponsible- they say on their Facebook page that they're certified professionals, but I doubt that. Putting glue all over your eyelids and clumping lashes together is not proper practice! Seriously wish that I had never gone to Glamour Eyes- NOT worth it at all!
