I purchased a new Continental boat trailer for my Carolina Skiff from Boathouse Discount Marine. The service department at Boathouse Discount Marine did a great job properly "fitting" the trailer for my boat. I was excited to bring my boat home but to my surprise when I arrived home I noticed that my new trailer had a flat tire. I immediately contacted Boathouse Discount Marine to let them know what happened and without delay they took charge to resolve the problem. I was a regular customer here until this incident. I bought a gallon of polyester resin that must have been old because when I went to use it, it was partially gelled and chunky. So I bring it back and they would not let me exchange it for a fresh one. I don't know his name but it was the younger short bald guy that said there was nothing he can do. Then to top it off he opens the cap and smells it like he is some kind of expert and tells me that smell means I stored it incorrectly! I have been doing fiberglass for over 30 years, it always smells like that, its called styrene. The only thing he is an expert at is being rude. This business is a JOKE, I ordered a motor from them, PAID IN FULL and was told they'd contact me in the next couple of days to let me know when it would arrive. After almost a week without hearing from them I called to get rigging instructions and they tell me that they won't honor our deal and that I'll now have to pay more for installation. I made a few phone calls to see if I could get the motor elsewhere and was told it is on back order until December. Meaning the sales staff at boathouse had NEVER so much as made a SINGLE PHONE CALL about my motor after having about $5000 of my money for OVER A WEEK. I stopped in on a Sunday to get a fuel/water separator filter for my boat. The store wasn't busy. When looking at the options I realized I didn't know which one I needed. A man working the parts counter asked if I needed some help. When I told him I needed assistance figuring out which filter I needed he told me to bring in the one I needed to replace. I told him it was installed on the boat out in the parking lot and he refused to walk outside to look at it. He kept telling me to bring it inside. I then asked if he could direct me to the oil filter wrenches so I could remove it and he told me that they were on backorder and didn't know when they would get any in. Frustrated, I went home, removed the filter and ordered one from Amazon and had it the next day. Customer service here is absolutely terrible when you can't be bothered to walk out into the parking lot to verify a part. read more

Great place for boat parts. They sell Oem parts and lower grades if u want to go that route. They keep a lot of items in stock and knowledgeable sales staff. I have not used their engine repair service so I can't speak for that experience. read more

On 7/17/23 I went to this location to replace the fenders on a boat trailer, bolts for the fenders, and to get a new fuel line hose for my boat. I had the physical original fender, and the fuel line with me when I went to this store to have them order replacements. I also had the vin number of the boat, engine, and trailer and all appropriate measurements. They said it was no problem and ordered me the replacement parts. Today 7/18/23 I went to go pick up this order, and took it home to make sure I had all the parts I needed. When I got the parts home I realized they had ordered the inappropriate size fenders for the trailer (again, I brought in the originals for them to see), gave me the wrong size bolts( that not only didn't fit the original fender, but also didn't fit the inappropriate size fender they ordered), and gave me not only the wrong diameter fuel line but also didn't cut it at the length ordered ( again I BROUGHT IN THE ORIGINAL). Once this realization was made I was obviously perturbed, and for the the second time that day drove 30 minutes to this store. When I got there I explained that they ordered the wrong fenders as well as gave me completely incorrect bolts, and the wrong size and length hose. The staff at the counter was utterly useless and pointless in their presence. I requested they fix there mistake return the incorrect, and order the correct fenders as well as swap out the incorrect hose and bolts. The front staff said that I had to pay a 20% restocking fee ( which I was never informed about when ordering) to return the fenders as they were a special order. I told them that I do not feel that was my responsibility to cover this fee as they were the ones that picked that size to order based off what I brought into them and that they said these were the exact fenders/ bolts/ hose. The manager came up at this point and said it was policy and that it is what it is. I was charged a 20% fee for their mistake and then found out that they picked the incorrect size because the correct size was not even able to be ordered and the kid at the counter just ordered the closet size and didn't disclose at ordering that the right size was unavailable. The lack of professionalism and costumer service is abhorrent at this place. The one guy in the parts department has always been great, but you need to reconsider the rest of your staff. read more

I've had boats since my early 20s, (61 yrs old now), and have been to many retail marine stores. I was pleasantly surprised at most all of the prices at Boathouse marine on large as well as smaller items, finding the costs comparable to bigger box store retailers or large online stores. Of course there are a few items a little higher, (mainly electrical connectors and such), but overall my experience with Boathouse marine's pricing has been great. I've started buying most everything for my boat here, and have found the customer service to be above average as well. While trying to get some help finding a solution to a prop issue I had a month or so ago, I stopped at a marine dealership just south of Pineda causeway and literally couldn't beg anyone to help me. They made me feel like unless I had purchased a boat from them, they couldn't care less about helping me. After leaving the dealership I proceeded to go to Boathouse marine, where two guys in the parts department spent at least 30 mins. trying to help me come up with a solution to my problem, which translated into the purchase of a new prop from them. Whereas the other store acted like they were doing me a favor just speaking to me, Boathouse spent as much time as necessary helping me, despite appearing to be very busy that day. I will continue to patronize Boathouse marine, because their prices on most items are very reasonable, and they seem to remember what customer service is, and who they actually work for. Rude old lady at check out, poor service return policy. Called about a part gave them the model of my motor and year. They told me the part cost which was higher then online. But wanted to support local. Got there and the part was doubled of the price quoted:( then just told oh well take or leave it. No hey let us help you out with a little discount for our bad. First off, Ive been a pretty regular customer buying oil filters, oil, and other misc parts for the better part of a decade. 11 months ago i went to service department to have my trim unit repaired (07 boat so the Yamaha unit lasted 13 years) The service manager, Steve, (no issue with steve, straight shooter) told me the unit would cost more to repair than a new one. Especially a new aftermarket one by SEI Engineering. 900 bucks later and I was on my way. 11 months later, the new trim unit is leaking oil from the cylinder rods. The unit has 1 year parts warranty. To use the warranty, i have to pay boat house to remove the unit from the boat, box it up, ship it to the manufacturer, pay their labor to repair it, pay return shipping, and then pay the labor to reinstall it. The retail cost of the seals is $40. per side. It takes maybe 12 minutes to replace both sides. My issue is Boathouse pushed a product, a product they wont service, a product they wont stand behind, a product with an effectively useless warranty, and a product that lasted 11 months. Im not unreasonable, I would have been happy with a set of seals as I can do the labor myself (obviously the warranty is useless). My second issue, is boathouse thinks parting with those seals is worth losing me as a customer. What do they cost boat house ? maybe 30 bucks ? Steve's response was what If we have to give everyone a set of seals ? Well steve, maybe you shouldnt push junk and sell it as if it wasnt. If you do, you ought to be somewhat ready to stand behind it. 30 bucks.. You make that off of me on my next oil change.. Or at least you would have. read more

This would not be a good place to go, I've been there several times and never can they seem to figure it out. And it's not the same boats I buy and sell so on every account they have not been successful. And Steve has been there forever and it's not like a big city here, just poor judgement on his techs that talk specs like they know something but can't really do the work nice and clean but also really don't diagnose properly at all it's like a parts changer and guess work with this crew. Not impressed. They would not give a price quote for replacing my starter. But for $97 an hour they will give me a price quote. Haha. My outboard has been disassembled and the tech said they will not put it back together. It was disassembled by another repair shop and they wanted $1100 for a minor seal repair. Boathouse marine replaced the Shift cable for $550 and after they did my boat leaked water. I am not sure how this business is still around. Why do they bother. read more
