It's how you deal with them that makes all the difference. If they had simply apologized and fixed their mistake, I wouldn't have to be writing this bad review.

Bob and Sons did an exceptional job re-painting our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The job was fairly extensive and they were great in completing it in a tight timeframe. We could not be happier with the results and would definitely use them again. We were recommended to Bob and Sons by a great carpenter who has done a bunch of work in our home. We were extremely pleased with Danny from Bob and Sons and recommended him to our neighbors (who also had their kitchen re-painted) and we are all delighted with the results. Here are the things that are great about them: 1. Price. I received 5 different estimates and Danny's estimate was the lowest/most competitive. 2. Project execution. Danny and his crew lacquer spray painted our kitchen. This is an extremely labor intensive job that requires a tremendous amount of clean-up. They spent a TON of time cleaning/dusting our entire apartment, taking special care to ensure that our 2 toddlers' toys were particularly dust-free and clean. 3. Customer service. Always responsive and very flexible in working around our schedule. Danny has also followed up a couple of times since the project was completed to ensure that we are happy and 100% satisfied with the results. They also worked very well with our building's super and were careful to be very clean/neat in the building's common areas. I would wholeheartedly recommend Bob and Sons for any painting projects, big or small. read more

I was initially skeptical after reading the recommended reviews, and when I spoke to Daniel and he mentioned that I should look at the additional reviews. Well I did, and was still a little hesitant but after speaking with Daniel and numerous exchange of messages I decided to go with them. I'm glad I did. I got to meet Bob (dad) half way through the chairs getting refinished and these guys could not have been nicer nor more professional. I have already told Daniel that they will be entrusted with a piece of furniture that was part of my parents bedroom bought in 1944. Not only will it be an intricate restoration, but more importantly Daniel understands the sentimental value it has. Hopefully the 2nd of many more projects. I would recommend these to anyone who needs work done. read more

A business partner and I visited their location within the Brooklyn Dockyard and was thoroughly impressed first, with their professionalism and the way they dealt with clients and secondly their work was flawless. I was also impress with a piece they were working on which was being carved from a huge tree trunk yet the details and craftsmanship was unbelievable. When inquiring as to where such skills were learned Bob the father and owner told me it was a skill past down from generations of fathers to sons as his father past it on to him and he to his sons. I work for a large firm where office furniture is antique and valuable and only a company of Bob and Sons caliber would be trusted in the care of such furnishing. A lost craft what a great find. I called Bob and Sons when researching refinishers for a desk and dresser. They responded promptly and came to my apartment that day to estimate the job. Later I checked reviews on Yelp and was deterred only seeing negative ones. I called Bob and Sons and they explained that there were hidden reviews that were not coming up. I checked those out and they also sent me other recommendations from happy customers. I decided to go with Bob and Sons as they worked with me to earn my business and their estimate was competitive. They have been in the business for many years and know their work. I am very happy with the refinishing and their professionalism and would highly recommend them. read more

I hired these guys to strip and refinish my grandmother's dinner room set from the late 60's, my first impression was that they knew a lot about antique furniture. I was given a very good price for the job, I was told that the work would take any where from 6-8 weeks to be done and my husband and I agreed to that, FYI it was done and back in my house in 5 weeks just in time for our family gathering. All my family memebers couldn't believe that this was same dinner room set we use to eat on at my grandmothers house. I would totally recommend these guys, they're very professional, respectful and down to earth but most of all they are willing to work with your budget. read more

Bob and Sons are awesome! They worked on most of the furniture in my house. Three bedrooms, stairway etc. and all I can say is "Job well done" My son is in love with the color of his bedroom set. My husband is very satisfied with the results in our bedroom. Nice, clean and smooth work. They arrived on time everyday while working on my stairs and the staff was friendly with my two chilrdren. I didnt have to worry about them leaving anything harmful out for my 3 year old daughter to touch. I would recommend them to anyone. We will use them again soon! read more

We picked the material to be used from a lot of choices. Workmanship: The cushions were thicker and firmer. There were no inappropriately placed seams, so we can turn them over. The covers are zippered for easy removal. We can tell that the change in the supporting structure is well done. Even the wooden legs were made to look like new. Other: The time frame for completion was spot on. Delivery of the finished chairs was easily scheduled. The price was reasonable and well below the price for buying them new (if available). The father and son team and workers were businesslike and friendly. We are very pleased and highly recommend Raynold's Upholstery to anyone needing this type of work.
