I would give no stars if I could they reupholstered my DSW loveseat and couch 5 years ago. it took longer then promised but looked ok. it was expensive and supposedly the fabric used was of high quantity. now 5 years latter both of the blue couches are now partially PINK. when I contacted them they said their work was only guaranteed for 6 months. Additionally they were dismissive and implied that maybe I used a cleaning product that caused the change in color. and they added that 5 years was a long time this is not the work or customer service that I would have expected. read more

H&A made my 1940s furniture look brand new and beautiful. These are family heirlooms and they took very good care them. You can tell that they take pride in their work. I was totally impressed. This was not the first upholsterer I contacted for this project but I'm glad the other guy was such a dick because I wouldn't have found H&A otherwise. The project was reconstruction of sofa cushions without replacing the fabric which was in good shape. The price was just a shade higher than the quote I got first but it was more than made up for by the impeccable service. I sent them pictures of the cushions, measurements and a description of the issue. I worked with Deb, their office manager and everything was accomplished by email. Her communication was superb, they arranged to pick up and drop off the cushions, they were completed on time. She gave me a number of time windows for both pickup and dropoff for me to pick without being asked to do so. The work appears to be good although I'm not an upholsterer. The cushions are as comfortable as they were when new. I unzipped one and peeked inside and it appears to be a quality reconstruction. I will absolutely use them again although I have to wait for 2 cats to die (or at least get old and feeble) before I start on my next project. I don't want to spend money only to have their work destroyed. They are 13 and 17 so it won't be too long in the grand scheme of things. Five Star Review for Five Star Service. read more

I had to leave a review, because H&A just did such a wonderful, wonderful job on several pieces we sent over - some of them antique, some of them badly in need of restuffing and general rehab. Given the expense and the fact that you'll live with these things for years and years, the stakes were high - and we could not be happier. The piping is beautiful, the patterns are carefully matched up, all of the signs of masterful work are there. And while getting this work done is never cheap, I think they were relatively reasonable, especially given the quality. I went this place and had them custom make a few pillows from fabric that I gave them. The pillows came out great. The owners are a nice couple from Argentina. Their prices are affordable. The store is really nice. I am going back and getting more stuff custom made!!! read more

They gave me a reasonable quote based on a photo by email that they stood behind, they did a lovely job with the reupholstery, and despite quoting a two-week-turnaround, they called me within 6 days to say I could pick it up. H&A Upholstery has been in Dumbo for a long time. It sat on the corner of Front and Pearl (across from Superfine) back in 1998 when I first moved there, but I didn't have any furniture that needed mending. Ten years later, my couch was torn and tattered so I visited them at their NEW LOCATION on Pearl between Plymouth and Water. They helped me pick out a cool piece of fabric and the job was completed in two weeks. The labor, fabric and pick-up/delivery was less than half of what a new couch would have cost. Finding a good upholsterer is tough. It's a dying art. And having a piece of furniture restored is so much kinder (and satisfying) than tossing it in a landfill. They do chairs, sofas, pillows, draperies and more. Very pleased. Nice people. Recommended. read more
