Service Department had my card for 2+ weeks, communication was poor. I tried on multiple occasions to get the car back and they would not return it to me. When I finally got it back (unserviced) they had killed the battery. Manager Rick was less than helpful, borderline rude. Shared on yelp over a month ago, first post was deleted. Posted again same day and Heather - just responded. Fairly sure by the copy and paste responses by Heather that it's a bot responding. Over a month for a response - par for the course - terrible customer service. I like how the response tells me to reach out to Rick, I have already spoken with Rick and he was less than helpful. from the moment you walk into the door it is super inviting! i wanna give a huge shout out to parker for being the one who help me find the car i wanted and nick who got prices just right for me. although i worked with those two i met most of the staff and everyone was so up beat and friendly! everything was extremely clean, including the bathrooms. they offered complimentary warm beverages and cold, along with snacks. the huge thing about buy a car is not feeling pushed or scammed. through the whole process i never felt once that way. although this is my first ford, im hoping to stay with them for a lifetime now! read more

Really bad bondo job that I didn't catch in the walkaround because it was dirty from rain. Sales manager refused to repair it. Took my FORD EXPLORER in 3/20/2026, for Recall, had a 8am appointment got there, girl at desk couldn't find me, so she said give me your phone #, then told me that appointment was for yesterday, I told her that's impossible because I made the appointment on the 19th around 1 o2 2pm for the 20th. Then they took my key and my Husband asked the Tech JOHN, how long they would have the car, he said probably just a couple hrs. We left 2 phone #s cell and home, waited all day even called them twice, left messages to find out if my car was done its now 2:30 pm when I left the messages, no one ever called us back. just took our 2018 explorer here for a recall for the toe link, they said it needed rear brakes pads and rotors. I declined being mechanically Inclined enough for brakes. to verify the concern I removed the tires and the pads do not need done at this time. they tried to rip me off for 800 dollars on a service that does not need done! you can't be mad at the poor mechanics they have working there with the labor rate double what another FORD dealership is 30 minutes up the beltway they are probably doing anything they can to make a paycheck! this place is a scam. This dealership attempted what I believe to be one of the most egregious scams in Ford's history. My experience with Bob Bell Ford of Glen Burnie was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot give zero stars, which only adds to my frustration. Rather than engaging in a back-and-forth over the questionable actions they attempted, I chose to quietly pay my bill and leave. I believe the pen is mightier than the sword, and this formal complaint serves as my official record against the dealership's conduct. BACKGROUND: Since purchasing my Bronco, I've enhanced its performance and aesthetics by adding custom wheels and tires just like 70% of Bronco owners, rode on them for over a year but a recent scrubbing noise led me to schedule diagnostics at Bob Bell Ford in Glen Burnie, MD with Service Agent J (I won't drop his full name). Despite my clear timeline, the dealership delayed service with unrelated recall claims, failed to perform a proper inspection, tech failed to posses the fundamental skill of removing a wheel lock and ultimately attempted to charge $270 for diagnostics that were never legitimately completed--while falsely attributing the issue to oversized aftermarket tires to deny my warranty coverage and had the nerve to actually document that as the issue. They recommended an unnecessary front axle replacement costing $800-$3,500, even though Maplecrest Ford in NJ later resolved the actual problem--a small piece of debris between the brake caliper and cover--for just $125, along with other minor adjustments performed by Mr. John Davis and the wonderful team over at Maplecrest Ford in NJ. J the Service Agent and Bob Bell Ford's actions misrepresented the issue, bypassed legitimate warranty obligations, and suggest deceptive business practices. I request reimbursement of the $270, an investigation into their warranty handling and service practices, and corrective action to ensure accountability. This entire situation appears to be an intentional attempt to defraud a loyal Ford customer and circumvent consumer rights. It is unethical and borders on unfair and deceptive business practices, potentially violating consumer protection laws and UDAP statutes (Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices). To summarize: * Bob Bell Ford performed no valid diagnostics and misrepresented the issue * They attempted to deny my extended warranty coverage without cause * They failed to resolve the original issue and delayed service under false pretenses * Maplecrest Ford resolved everything professionally and affordably with transparency This is unacceptable and this complaint has been escalated to Ford's corporate offices for resolution. By far the most miserable service experience. No accountability to the customer whatsoever. Vehicle sat untouched for a week before anyone began work. If you want updates you have to call and then hope you get a call back when they say "they will check." Extremely hesitant to work with customers on rental vehicles. Between March 10 and April 3, my 2013 Ford Focus was in Bob Bell Ford's service department three separate times, and not once was the issue actually resolved. Each time I left the lot, the car broke down again within a few miles. For context, I spent 15 years working in service and parts at a Lincoln dealership. I know how this process should work. I also know what thorough diagnostics and real quality control look like, and unfortunately, this experience has been the opposite. The original issue was a slipping transmission. I suspected the TCM, which I knew was covered under an extended warranty. Initially, Bob Bell Ford told me it might be the shift motors. Then I was told it was the TCM after all. That part was replaced, the car was test-driven, and I was assured it was good to go. It wasn't. The car broke down before I even made it halfway home. With the dealership closed, I had no choice but to limp the vehicle home while it slipped out of gear multiple times. I brought it back again. This time, I was told the issue was the shift motors. I approved the $925 repair. Once again, the parts were replaced, the car was test-driven, and I was told everything was working perfectly. It wasn't. Less than five miles from Bob Bell Ford, the car broke down again. Same issue. Same story. I brought it back a third time. Now I'm being told the real problem is the clutch, and I'm looking at a $4,200 repair bill. After two failed repairs, two dangerous roadside breakdowns, and nearly $1,000 out of pocket, I'm somehow expected to trust this new diagnosis? How was the clutch issue missed in the first two visits? Were the test drives even done? Because twice now, the vehicle has failed within minutes of leaving the dealership, and I was driving carefully just trying to make it home safely. At this point, I've been stranded twice, spent hundreds on ineffective repairs, and am now facing a multi-thousand-dollar estimate. All within a few weeks. It's unacceptable. If you value your time, your safety, or your money, I strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere. To say I am not surprised this business isn't accredited is an understatement. Also seeing the number of 1 star reviews isn't a surprise either. Let me tell you of my Bob Bell odyssey. First off I purchased an almost brand new 2017 Ford Escape from them (had about 3900 miles on it). They told me it was a financing thing that fell through from the previous owner so they gave me a decent deal. Car was great for about 4 years but I don't drive that much (car currently only has 58753 miles on it in 7 years of ownership). I keep up on its maintenance as well. The A/C in this thing is the biggest piece of crap I have ever come across (with the Bob Bell Service Dept. a close 2nd). First time the A/C went belly up on me was two years ago. I took them the car and they claimed to have fixed the issue after having it for a week. I get the car and drive 5 min down the street and same issue with it. I take it back in and they proceed to make other "repairs" upon which they have the car for another week and I take it and same issue. I bring it back a third time and am given a run around with them saying they had to get some special mechanic in to work on it. Had my car another week+ upon which i called the branch manager with my complaint of them not fixing my issue and having my car for so long. Finally got them to at least get me a rental car on their dime after having had the car three+ weeks. Miraculous after having the rental for a day they finally fixed my A/C right. Flash forward to this past month, same issue with A/C. Same process with service from here claiming they fixed the issue but get the car and drive 5 min down the street and still broken. They kept my car a total of 13 business days (2+ total weeks) and finally fixed it. Multiple times I have to contact them to get updates and often times when I get updated... car has just sat there not even had been looked at yet. Why have me even bring it in if you can't get to it that day or the next? Just terrible business read more

After waiting in line for a few minutes, another gentleman arrives after me and sits down. The store did only NOT acknowledge the fact that I had been waiting but assured the gentleman who arrived after me. Bob Bell Ford continues to disappoint and not show any leadership nor customer service. I don't know about their sales department, but I can't recommend the service department. They had our car 3 times, and it still isn't fixed after replacing the battery and instrument cluster, the battery still dies overnight. I told them the radio died at the same time as the battery dying but they said the radio is a separate issue. That's funny since the battery doesn't die after I removed the 2 radio fuses. They also told me I needed a new serpentine belt, so I gave the go ahead. Then the belt was noisy and then they said it needed a new pulley, so I gave the okay for that too. Then they double charged me for the belt installation. After they returned the car for the 3rd time, the engine now has a rough idle and the check engine light came on after 1 day. I did get a refund for the battery it didn't need and the double charge for the belt installation, but overall, this has been the worse experience with a service department I've had since 1969 when I started driving. I'm still out about $900 for the instrument cluster replacement that didn't fix the problem. read more

Serviced the turbo in my vehicle. They botched to job failing to replace a seal. 300 miles later the turbo failed 250 miles from home. Took it to a ford dealer there and showed them the work order. They were surprised that the seal wasn't replaced. The service advisor at bob bell refused any responsibility for the failed turbo over the phone. Additionally he told me it would be 3-4 weeks before they could look at the vehicle. I took the paperwork from the other ford dealer to the service desk at bob bell asking to see the service manager. The same advisor would not get the manager. He took copies of the paperwork saying he would review it with the manager. After waiting 3 days for a call from them I called. Same jerk answered the phone and said it wasn't their fault. Sleaze ball company. Stay fare away! read more

Don't know why I even bother writing this as clearly nobody at Bob Bell check these or gives a sh*t. Bought car there and have had nonstop problems. Waited 3-4 weeks for my "appointment" for service. Car drop 8am for "appointment" to check engine trouble light. 5pm and they haven't even touched the car. "Hopefully" the tech will get to it tomorrow and then let me know what's needed. Since Ford would do nothing to fix it during warranty period I'm sure now there will be a need for substantial repairs now that the warranty is just up. I went to Bob Bell Ford located at 7125 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061, in February 2024 because the heat to my Ford Focus EV was not working. This was a car that I had bought a month earlier. When I took it to Bob Bells Ford, they kept it for almost a week before contacting me and telling me there was no issue. When I went to pick it up the heat was not working again, and John Martinez at the service center kept it for another couple of days before returning it to me and this time it was working. Cut to October 2024 and the heat was not working again so I contacted Bob Bell once more. They took my car, and John told me that it had a bad battery, and it was bad when I bought it last time (this information was not shared with me in February 2024). When I inquired about why they did not inform me in February 2024 about the bad battery, they did not have an answer for me, and I had to pay for the battery. If I had known about it in February 2024 then the battery would have been under warranty, and I would not have had to pay out of pocket. They placed the new battery in my car, and I left. Bob Bell Ford sent me an email asking for a survey about my experience with them. I filled it out and gave my honest opinion. I was contacted by John and Christopher Austin about the survey and asked me to change it to something better. In return, they said I would get half of my money refunded. I did as they asked but I have yet to see my money. On top of that my car's heat still is not working. I contacted them via phone and email multiple times and have not received any response. I would not recommend this place to anyone as my experience was horrible. I was lied to and have lost money here and the problem is not solved. read more

As I told Van I did not want to buy from anyone else but him, I still needed to learn my trade in value to make an informed decision. He got Kirk Smalls to come out of the office. Here I thought I would receive a welcomed conversation as I wanted to buy a truck. Van was still helping me find the right solution. Manager Kirk Smalls first accused me of going to 4 other dealers and not buying a vehicle. All I had told Van was that I reviewed my car value online but needed a true value from Bob Bell. Kirk smalls dismissed me by saying that 'we are not an appraisal house!' 'Why haven't you purchased a vehicle after going to 4 other dealers' I told him I called them first and wanted to buy from Van. Kirk repeated several times that if I don't have a vehicle already picked out, he can't talk to me about the value of my truck. I spent 2 hours there and test drove 2 vehicles hoping to drive away with something new and this guy dismissed me. I am a middle aged white male. I was wearing a sweatshirt and sweat pants from painting my house all day. I can't help but think that was part of his dismissal of me. I love Ford Motor company and I know they would never want their customers to be treated this way. I made sure I reported this dealership and individual at the highest level to the corporate office. I will be ordering a Lightning from Apple Ford as soon as possible. Sorry Van. You are a good man but I could not possibly consider this dealership. You never know who you are talking to Kirk. I know a lot of Ford owners who will never go to Bob Bell. I live in Silver Spring; MD and I bought my 2021 Ford Bronco at Bob Bell in October. I had a few minor fine tune services that needed to take place. I scheduled my service with Cary Locklear and dropped the car off the transition from the service department to Sterling Car rental was seamless and I was out within 15 minutes. This is a brand-new car and we played "find the squeak" through two different service rounds both time we tried to duplicate the squeak. Cary, Duane and I did a test drive, and the problem would not present itself. I feel confident that both Duane and Cary really went above and beyond to help me out and to narrow down the cause. We have dropped our car off 4 times for a total of 2 months they charged us for things that were unrelated and did not fix our car they have lied over and over again and seem to be hoping we will just give up and go somewhere else. My nearly new Ford EcoSport showed a Check Engine Light, so I called Bob Bell and made an appointment to drop it off. Due to the times, they didn't have a timeslot available, but because I was willing to drop it off until they could get around to it, Dwayne made an appointment for me immediately. Today, in less than a day, Dwayne from Bob Bell called and said my car was ready. When I arrived, everything was ready. There was no charge because the work was covered by warranty. Everyone was just fantastic, especially Dwayne. I have bought three Ford's from Bob Bell in the last six years, but had very little interaction or need for service. Three strikes and you're out. We were loyal customers of this service department for years. Recently we noticed a change. Suddenly you could no longer drive in on the weekend for an oil change. Now it's all online appointments only, in 15 minute increments. The change in service organization is not an indictment of this shop. Rather it suggested a change in management that coincided with three separate events, each more frustrating than the last. 1) oil change performed with wrong oil. Only a minor pain in the rear to take it back in but really poor attention to detail on their part. 2) in for a break job. Ended up going over budget and over time, contrary to our previous service experiences. Ok. So one bad time. We'll try again. 3) in for an oil gasket repair. Triggered a cascade of repairs apparently brought on by rusted bolts as they tried to remove pieces. Another over budget and over time experience. Left repaired but suddenly the speedometer didn't work. There was haggling back and forth about who would pay for this repair. Of course their position was that the speed sensor was nowhere near the area they were working on. But my position was that a coincidence like that is highly improbable. Add to that my total lack of trust in their word after the domino-effect repair. I mean, perhaps their technician is just a little heavy handed? In the end, after writing a strongly-worded letter to the management we did receive a refund for the speedometer repair but after so many frustrating interactions over such a short period of time (about 6 months in all) we are hunting for a new regular repair shop. I will still give two stars because in the end they got the job done and our cars still run well. And perhaps I also harbor some sentimentality for all of the good work they had done in the past. Still, whatever systemic change occurred this year was not for the best and I can no longer recommend this shop. read more

10 days later the same problem occurred. This time I had to get it towed. Turns out it was a catastrophic engine failure and they put in a new engine. WHAT??? At 7000 miles??? So 10 days ago there was "nothing wrong with the vehicle" yet now I need a new engine?? I don't believe I will be taking any car back to Bob Bell for work. I called Hyundai USA and filed a claim saying I wanted a buy back. After a week, I finally got a call saying that their policy is to cover the "repair" under warranty. Replacing an engine in a brand new car is a repair??? They had my car for 10 days. I picked it up today. It was filthy, not even a car wash. Needless to say, I'm pursuing my claim through the BBB via arbitration. I don't trust this car and now it's certainly devalued by a few grand, if not more.
