This is my second time bringing my car in for repair. Service is always great Don and his team really know their stuff. I brought my car in the first time for breaks. And this time I brought my car in for an oil change and I had a problem with my car making noise they looked it over but didn't find anything wrong. However they did tell me that I needed tires so I ended up getting my oil change and four tires at a reasonable price better than if I had gone to a Sam's Club or Costco to get tires.They mounted them balanced and did everything they needed to do. I will not be taking my car back to the dealership if I need any work done on my car I will definitely bring it back to Prince Auto . The service was quick they didn't try to upsell me and tell me things are wrong with my car like they do at the dealership to get more money. If you're looking for an honest repairman that's not going to try to get more money from you for car repair and that is reasonable Prince Tire and Auto is your place. Well unfortunately I have to rate this locally owned establishment a failure. I had high hopes for this place. Yesterday I called to inquire about a tire plug/patch as well as an oil change and they were awesome over the telephone. They quoted me a reasonable price, and asked if I could have my vehicle there by 0800, because they can get me in and out fast. In return, due to my work schedule I told the gentleman that I wouldn't be able to make it in until around 0900ish, which he informed me that was fine it just might be a longer wait. They took my name down, and scheduled me. Well, this morning I got off work, and showed up to this place slightly around 0930, walked in, and met with the gentleman at the front desk, checked in, and the gentleman behind the glass in the room, cut my conversation off I was having with the front desk, and told me their booked up now so it will be a while. After being interrupted, I ascertained about the turnaround time, and he told me Monday. Keep in mind, originally it was only going to be a slightly longer wait for being there around 0900, and all I was getting done was a simple tire plug/patch and oil change. So how does one tell me over the phone a slightly longer wait to now a three day turnaround??? Fri-Mon. Needless to say, they didn't want the business, I tried to support a local shop. So I just took my vehicle to GoodYear, and was in and out within an hour. Plus awesome coupons to go with my purchase. Sad, and I wouldn't recommend. Perhaps allowing your front desk staff to do their jobs without you interjecting would've been more understandable. read more

My car was in a dire situation. Tate Dodge had my car, they pulled the engine apart quoting me outrageous numbers. I was frustrated and wanted to take my car back. They handed me the keys and my car literally didn't operate! I got it towed to Prince's who took it in right away. They diagnosed the problem, I needed a new engine. It would take me a few days to make the decision and get the $ together. Prince's was patient and helpful! Their quote was very competitive. I gave them the go ahead and they did the work on time. I'd highly recommend them, and wil use them for both my cars from now on! read more

When my Kia was having a major issue we had it towed to Prince's they were so patient working with a car warranty company to replace my engine. An over $9,000 engine replacement was fixed and cos me less than $500. I cannot recommend them enough. Excellent service. read more

Not impressed. I had a hitch and wiring installed. 1. I was not called when the vehicle was ready. 2. When I picked it up the vehicle had developed a horrendous racket in the spare tire area because the hadn't put everything together correctly. 3. When I picked up the trailer I was renting the electrical harness had not been installed correctly which meant another trip back to Prince'S to get them to do the work correctly. Cost me time and gas for extra trips back to get rework done when it should have been done correctly the first time. read more

Amazing five star service! After calling around a few of the places local to me in Fells Point for a ballpark figure for having my brakes replaced, I asked one of my coworkers in Pasadena about "her guy." Not entirely certain whether I would make it home to Baltimore and back the next morning due to the, um, severe grinding of my brakes, I made an appointment to drop off my Jeep and hoped for the best. Well, the guys at Prince's are amazing. Super friendly, very understanding, and they didn't shame me at all when I described the assortment of alarming noises that had been coming from my undercarriage. Turns out that a quick stop in the 895 tunnel that very morning was the final death blow for brakes that were already on the brink of extinction, but I got there safe and sound and confidently dropped off my Jeep. As a previous reviewer mentioned, they will take you to work (and pick you up after your service is complete!) if you're close by. I drove away from Prince's (and stopped, as expected, without any grinding of metal on metal) with a huge grin on my face in spite of having just handed over a good chunk of my paycheck, ready to face the afternoon's stop and go traffic. Finally, eight years after moving to Baltimore, I have a local-ish shop that I can trust with my vehicle, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of a good, honest mechanic who treats everyone fairly, regardless of sex. I'm done with shops who assume that women are too dumb to take care of their vehicles (trust me, there was no warning with my brakes, things just suddenly got very bad!), and will instead happily spend my hard-earned dollars at Prince's. read more

I've been going to Don Prince's Tire and Auto for years and am always happy with the service. I get everything done here from any major repairs to basic service like oil changes. His prices are always reasonable and usually beat the competition. Quick service all of the time and Don's always honest with what you need and their ability to fix it. If wait time is long, he also provides ride home service if you're near by. What I also like is that Don is the man you'll always interact with, so service is always personable. I consider him my personal mechanic, which is something great to have in this day and age. read more

Over the past two weeks I've had about $2,400 dollars worth of work done on two of my vehicles. On both occasions the work was done well and in a timely manner. They are honest and true. The first vehicle I had told them to drain, flush, and replace all fluids. When they inspected the transmission fluid, a standard transmission, they found it to still be in good shape and did not drain, flush, and replace, and told me that it was still fine. They could have gone through with that portion of the work, but did not take advantage of me not knowing that it was still good. On the second vehicle, an old farm truck; I asked about tires, to which, Don the owner, said that if it were my truck I would still use the tires that are on the truck. Once again, they could have just followed through with my request, however they provided their input and recommendation, which saved me money. To find a shop that does work well, in a timely manner, and does not take advantage of their customers if a true gem! I highly recommend this shop. It is run and over seen by the owner! I took my son's car to Prince's Tire and Auto and spoke with the owner Don about having a bad actuator replaced in the dash. Don had his mechanic take a look at it and charged me $97 just to tell me what I already knew was bad. He then called me a few hours later to tell me that the actuator that was bad out of the three the vehicle contained was the hardest one to get to and it would cost $770 to replace. After checking with the Chevy dealership service department to see what their cost was which was $200 higher than Prince's, I decided to go ahead and have the work done. Don called me when it was done. My son then went down to pick up the car. My son called me when he got home and told me that the airbag check light had come on. I then called Don and told him the airbag light was on and he said to bring it back down so he could take a look at it. My son started the car again and said the light was no longer on. So I called Don and he told me it probably corrected itself. He said if it came back on again to let him know then he would take a look at it. After about four or five days, I called him because the light had come back on. My son also had noticed that the steering column cover was hanging apart. Don told me to bring the car down so he could look at it and see why the airbag light was on. So I had my son drive it down with my wife and they dropped it off. After about 2 to 3 hours Don called my cell phone and told me I have bad news that the clock spring for the airbag was bad and needed to be replaced. He also told me that it was going to cost another $480 to replace it not including the $93 he was charging me for looking at it. I couldn't believe I was getting charged $93 for him looking at a part that wasn't bad until after his mechanic worked on the car. He told my wife that they never went into the steering column. When my wife pointed out the steering column cover was broken and apart, he then changed his tune and said well we did open the steering column but we didn't go into where the clock spring was. My wife kept telling Don how she thought it was awfully coincidental that we never had a problem with the clock spring, airbag, airbag light, steering column cover or anything besides the actuator, until his mechanic touched the car. After going back-and-forth with him, Don finally said no charge I'm not going to charge you, My wife responded and said oh no we'll pay for what you've done, even though we don't feel like we should have to because we thought since you worked on it and we told you about it that day that you would do it as a courtesy. Don then responded and said no charge I'm not charging you and ripped up the invoice. He also told us that it had taken him 2 1/2 hours of work just to find out that it was the clock spring. I'm not really sure how he can justify 2 1/2 hours of labor and then dock it down to $93 for doing nothing more than hooking up a computer that told him what the problem was. Not only that now I'm left with a broken clock spring that I am more than confident his mechanic broke at some point during taking the dashboard apart and the steering column apart. And on top of that, I now have a broken steering column cover that all the clips are busted probably because the mechanic did not know how to take it apart properly without breaking it. I will never go back to this place for the rest of my life. I will take all of my vehicles somewhere else. I will also do my due diligence to make sure that every body I come in contact with knows exactly how this man does business with his customers. And the type of mechanics and the workmanship that he's hiring under his name. Absolutely disgusted with this business I should've known better when I took my Honda pilot there a year ago to have the rotors turned just to have the problem start back up two months later. Trust me people do yourself a favor, do your checkbook a favor, stay away from this business. They are shysters with the best of them. Buyer beware !!! read more

Prince tire has horrible customer service. The owner who answers the phone does not care about the customers and speaks very rude to you when you call. Got a tow and they locked my keys in the car and I informed them and his response was there's nothing I can do for you we did not lock your keys in your car and he hung up the phone. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. He has no desire to rectify the issue... service was just awful. I am projecting this business Will not be open long at all. Took my car in that had a very slow coolant leak , needed to add a smail amount of coolant every month. Don said it was fixed, repair by the thermostat housing. I paid him. Low and behold I still had a very small leak, basically leaked at the same rate as the one I already paid him for. When I brought it in he immediately tried to protect himself by saying it was probably a different leak. This time he said it was coming from the crossover gaskets by the water pump and he wanted an additional $1500 to fix. I cannot prove it but my theory is that it was leaking there the whole time and he didn't catch it. So I was not about to give him any more money. When my wife picked up the car they charged her $90 to diagnose the so called new leak. I talked to a lady on the phone, (who was very nice) trying to reach Don who was not available. I asked her to have Don give me a call with regard to the need to charge me another $90. He never did. read more
