Forget spending huge bucks for tickets to musical, and driving to the bay area to see a performance and having to spend the night. Right in our backyard is such a talented group of actors and dancers, you would be hard pressed to find a huge difference between the big city performances, and these performances put on by the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company. Over the past couple years we have seen, Les Miserables, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, The little Mermaid, Chicago and in the the fall we are seeing Beauty and the Beast. The tickets are very affordable. We sat in the 4th row and they were 25 dollars each. There is a live orchestra, and the sets and costumes are fabulous. So, if you you like musicals, the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company puts on two performances a year, one in spring and one in fall. Support our local actors and dancers, you will not be disapointed.

Quality/Quantity - What a great find! And a nonprofit. If…read moreyou are following, we will be home (in Reno) for a few more days and want to spend more time exploring our city and neighboring cities. This has popped up (among a few other events), so we decided to visit this first. Again, what a great find. So much art in the historic buildings surrounding the other buildings and throughout the town (murals!). I took very few pictures (can you believe that, lol), as I decided to drive versus walk on this very hot day. Ambiance - Two blocks...? Not just the old brewery, but all the adjoining buildings. And the lot across the street with the stage, see pictures. Lastly, the old church... is not a church any more, lol. Free outdoor summer concerts, see website. Theater, performance hall, exhibit hall, grand ballroom, education wing, etc. Classes, membership; see websites. Small parking lot, but other than the artists, we were the only guests here, lol. Well, the rest of the parking lot is currently being used for this event. Call or check their website for hours. Service - Everyone is so welcoming. Price - Free, thank you! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1975.

Great performance by all of the actors! What an enjoyable Sunday afternoon watching art come to…read morelife through such talented individuals. I especially appreciated the nice touch at the end -- the actors taking their time during the curtain call to greet and thank all of the patrons. That made the experience even more personal and memorable. However, my first impression of the venue itself wasn't great. This was my first time visiting, and we had difficulty finding parking since it wasn't clear whether parking across by the church was allowed. We were able to find street parking and walked across. Once we arrived, we had trouble figuring out where to enter for the main stage performance. Unfortunately, the woman at the concessions counter (confections) was not helpful or friendly, which made things even more confusing. We ended up walking back and forth between buildings trying to find the correct entrance. The performance was 5-star, but the venue experience -- especially the initial interaction at the concessions counter -- was disappointing. NO stars. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future visitors.

Chipper Lowell, the magician was super energetic, funny and impressive in his magic tricks as well as showmanship. The theater is a small cozy place where every seat feels like front seat. The show was super interactive and he involved and genuinely engaged with nearly everyone in the audience. The jokes were funny but yet very clean and family friendly. We all had a good time and would highly recommend. The location of the theater is super convenient in the Heavenly shoppes location and you could park in the parking lot across the street for 2 hours. We didn't purchase any food at the theater since we just had a late lunch. No outside food is allowed.

Near the Chocolate and Champagne shop. We arrived at 4:13 pm and entered on the ground floor. We assumed they were selling popcorn , as we could smell it, but sent us to the 3rd floor, without offering us any popcorn as an option to take to the show. It was a bit confusing as when we entered the show people had drinks and popcorn. They also had a bar right outside the theater to the show and I overheard someone say you can only take water into the show. Looking around after we sat down we saw many people with cocktails and other drinks. For those of you that are thinking about going to the show. I believe you can buy popcorn on the 1st floor and you can stop at the bar on the 3rd floor and get your drinks before going to the theater. In addition they allow you up to the 3rd floor early, but the doors to the theater open 15 minutes before the show. I also heard that the 4:30 show was geared to kids and the 7:30 show was geared to adults. This we choose the 4:30pm show thinking it would be pg. it was more like pg 13. Some adult humor was thrown in. I'm really glad we didn't go to the 7:30 show as that would have been too much for me. The magic show was great. I have no idea how he performed his tricks. He was both funny and entertaining. I highly Reccomend this as part of your entertainment when you're up in Tahoe.
