The turf area especially felt tight and there was a noticeable smell that made the atmosphere less enjoyable. The equipment quality was decent and the staff were about the same as other Los locations, friendly and easygoing. It seems to attract a mix of casual and serious lifters, which is nice. There is a small posing room but it is basically just a closet with mirrors. The cardio options were pretty limited too. Not a bad gym but definitely not my favorite Los spot. It just felt a little claustrophobic and there are better options in the city for the same price.

They have a TON of power and olympic lifting equipment, including squat racks, lifting platforms, many different bars, and bumper plates. They also have a bunch of accessory machines and equipment, although I did not see a GHD. They have fairly good sized bathrooms, and lots of supplements incase you forget yours. Drop-ins are about $20, and parking is pretty easy.

This was my first visit for the purpose of volunteering at USA Swimming Junior National Championship. Parking can be a challenge for visitors. There is a nearby parking garage and very limited surface spaces. The area around the pool was clean. The building although dated to possibly the 70's is in great condition. The majority of the facility is the competition pool used by the University of Minnesota Swim team. The facility is nicely maintained. However, faculty and students can use the pool. The Olympic size competition pool is 50 meters with movable bulkhead, platform diving and well. The aquatic complex consist of approximately 145,000 gallons of swimming capability. The Long Course pool has eight lanes for competition.. The spectator area is expansive and spans the entire length of both sides of the pool and well. The public locker room area is large and pretty clean. There were two malfunctioning items. Great facility and hope to return for another event in the near future.

I would go as far to say that their services are better than Sydney's Olympic Park Aquatic Center. The Rec has honestly changed my life for the better. In my experience, the machines have always been clean and plenty to go around for everyone to work on any muscle or work on cardio. It can get a bit crowded at peak times; there's always space for everyone, even if you gotta wait a bit for a specific machine.

I was a little concerned when I had a hard time finding early morning or late evening sessions to attend. Turns out I just needed to expand my search. Now that I've found the NE location it's going to be my home base for my fitness rediscovery. I am sore today just enough to remind me that I have these muscles and to regret my long departure from the gym but not severe enough to hinder daily activity or intimidate me away from going back. I am a fan!

This gym is honestly phenomenal. The best investment I have ever made in my health and fitness. For…read morecontext, I'm 54 and started this year pretty darn overweight. This is not your momma's or daddy's old-school gym. You don't walk in and start using equipment half-cocked: they only do 30 minute appointments, recommended twice a week, either 1:1 or in a small group (up to three clients together). You do ONE set with as many reps as you can until you can't do any more with perfect form, and then move on to the next exercise. Trust me, 30 minutes is plenty of time to get your @$$ kicked in the best possible way. I work primarily with Lawrence, but sometimes I don't book far enough ahead and he's unavailable (because he's in high demand) so I have worked out with Edwin, Chris, Luke, and Allie. All of them are deeply knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my progress. They make the burn fun and worthwhile, and they are very clearly extremely educated and know their stuff, ALL of them. I've been going six months now very consistently, and I'm so pleased with my results. I'll do my first body composition assessment tomorrow (Bod Pod) and I'm very keen to see where I'm at. Do yourself a favor and take a free introductory workout: you'll be hooked. Hurts so good!!

Great location, good workouts, and nice facility…read more Right now, the Northeast studio can be a little difficult to get to because of all of the street construction, but the businesses are operating normally. YogaFit has a nice corner location on a slightly quieter street, so the studio feels private, but also has natural light from the windows. It offers traditional yoga, barre and more strength-focused classes, called Burn classes. The studio itself is very nice and clean, with well-maintained equipment and built-in ballet bars around the room. The bar and burn classes are typically 45-50 minutes long, and start with about 10 minutes of light stretching/warm up, and a 5-7 minute cool down. Aside from that, the instructors can create their own class plans, so you are never quite sure what muscle groups you will be focusing on that day. Burn features loud, up-beat music that you move to (it is cool to see the whole class moving in synchrony). The classes focus on repeating slower, controlled movements and on static holds, so you are mainly using lighter weights. I was definitely sore after a barre class that worked quads for a few sections, and we didn't even use weights for that one! So while I thought the class quality, instructors and facility were great (they have a fairly good distribution of class times, including early in the morning) it was hard to get a whole-body work out with just one class, due to time constraints. For example, really burning out the triceps requires time that can't be used for a different muscle group when you are only working for ~30 minutes of class time. Class plans are a little expensive, considering this might be an additional membership (this area seems pricey in general), though they do offer a discount if you sign up after the free trial week. They also have a run club that meets twice monthly at different locations. I would use these classes as an addition to another full gym membership, not as my only fitness method. Maybe if classes were a little longer they might be able to get more complete work in each time. So while it wasn't a perfect fit for me, it was still a lot of fun, and might be great for someone looking for an additional type of workout or who only needs light weights. Give it a try with their free trial week!

I don't mind waking up for 6:15am classes on the weekday and 9:00am classes on the weekend because I always feel great after class.
