I thought my AC problem was the thermostat because the unit wasn't cooling, so the tech checked it, then went outside and ended up replacing the capacitor. 35 minutes later, when he collected a check for $393, he said he would have a copy of the bill emailed to me. A month later I call Scott's and ask for a copy of the bill. I wondered if I didn't receive a copy of the bill because the tech told me he was going to sit in his truck for awhile after I paid him. I figured he was trying to build up service hours to justify the nearly $400 bill. (My son later told me it should have cost about $150) When I called their office I was told they do not charge by the hour...there is the $100 service fee, and then a flat fee depending on which part is replaced....supposedly I got a senior discount so can't tell you how much over $400 having a capacitor replaced will cost you.

They answered all of our questions with educated answers, which I was able to verify online. Our previous ducting was inadequate for a system of this caliber, so they replaced the old ductwork to ensure everything was sized and sealed perfectly. The difference in airflow and temperature consistency throughout the entire house is night and day. I have never lived in a house that does such a great job at keeping us comfortable; not too hot in the winter, nor too cold in the summer. Kyle and John were professional, meticulous, and clearly experts when it comes to high-efficiency Mitsubishi technology. I had a single stage 2-ton unit that really struggled with maintaining acceptable humidity levels, so I had then replace it with a new 2-ton, 2 stage, variable speed system. All handled professionally, quickly, and with care. Recently, we had an issue where the line gave out (50 years of sediment under your house will do that). The fix was not within their capacity, so they referred me to some excellent colleagues who were able to repair the issue for me. Our air conditioned decided it wanted to stop working this past June, in the hottest June in record. Originally we had a family member who is an AC guy give us some fixes but they just didn't work and finally after 2 miserable weeks I looked for a professional company. I came across B&L and was bowled over by the stunning reviews. I called just before they opened and the owner Fabian called back right away. He came over that very same morning and checked out our situation and advised on options. He was no nonsense and I appreciate that because I despise the bs tactics that some people use. He was upfront and said they weren't the cheapest but weren't the most expensive. We went with a whole new system because ours was already 13 years old and was a 2 ton and we should have a 2.5. I liked the warranty and they had excellent finance options. Fabian gave us a realistic schedule date and they even loaned us a portable unit while we waited for the install. Dara was excellent and so so nice when she came to the house to drop off the unit and have me sign the contract. Every time I texted she was quick and friendly with responses. Steve and Kyle came out on time on the scheduled install date and were done the same date. They did excellent work and cleaned up after themselves. When we kept hearing a weird humming that started driving us crazy they came back out and inspected and we're able to solve the issue which was very much appreciated. Don't get me wrong, new systems are expensive and I know not everyone can afford them but I am betting that the repair work for this company is just as good as new installs. These are the type of businesses my husband and I prefer to work with. Family owned who really care about their customers and their work quality. They were the most affordable, on top of having 4 different companies come take a look and give us a quote. The customer service was outstanding from beginning to end and they were very patient and knowledgeable. They even called another worker to come and help when they couldn't figure out why our AC wasn't getting cold after replacing the line and he was able to get it running correctly. I am glad I stuck around after their staff change. I am beginning to see a major positive change with their current staff. Specially their technicians. I hope the company treats them right so they stay around. I'm extremely happy and satisfied with the last two visits. I have not experienced last minute changes/cancellations lately. I hope they keep up that way. The office staff is very polite and responsive. They are in track on scheduling and following up on service calls. They continuously reached out for updates when ordering a part. I have maintenance package with them that includes 2 yearly maintenance service. Technicians have showed up on time and are very attentive to my concerns. Home services are never cheap. I believe I get what I pay for. In my case having the service package is totally worth it. All work was completed properly and to my satisfaction. I hope they keep up with the positive change.

I have been using this company for over 25 years but unfortunately their service has gone downhill…read more I had them out to my house on 7/23 and had my system checked out and a capacitator replace and some freon added. I was charged $568 ! The system continued to not work properly and had them out again on 8/9 and was told I probably had a leak and it would cost $1,200 to fix. I was then charged $95 for this useless information less than 2 weeks since he had been to my home. Yesterday I had to clear out the drip line as my closet was being flooded. Why didn"t he do that two weeks prior? I have talked with neighbors and was given the name and number of a reliable company to contact for help.
