My son recommended Scott's since he had had them install a new unit for him a few years ago. Because he recommended them, I didn't check the reviews....until now. I thought my AC problem was the thermostat because the unit wasn't cooling, so the tech checked it, then went outside and ended up replacing the capacitor. 35 minutes later, when he collected a check for $393, he said he would have a copy of the bill emailed to me. A month later I call Scott's and ask for a copy of the bill. I wondered if I didn't receive a copy of the bill because the tech told me he was going to sit in his truck for awhile after I paid him. I figured he was trying to build up service hours to justify the nearly $400 bill. (My son later told me it should have cost about $150) When I called their office I was told they do not charge by the hour...there is the $100 service fee, and then a flat fee depending on which part is replaced....supposedly I got a senior discount so can't tell you how much over $400 having a capacitor replaced will cost you. read more

I called Scott's on a neighbors recommendation. They showed up for an after 5:00 service call. Cost for visit was $149. The tech looked at every thing and said I had a leak in my condenser unit coil. He could "hear it". So I asked if it was fixable. He said maybe not sure, and that someone will reach out to me tomorrow. Next morning their sales guy comes out and says you need a new unit. Later on in the day he sends a quote for $17,400. I call and ask if it's repairable, (I looked on line and I could by the part my self). He says the part is obsolete, really? I am looking at it on line and can have it at my door step in 2 days. So I knew it was BS and they just wanted to sell me a new unit. So to get another view I called American air and heat. There tech was more through than Scott's Tech and he pin pointed the leak quickly. Gave me a quote on the spot for $2100 and they had it fixed the next day. read more

I would advise to stay clear of this company. Last summer I had a leak and they advised I had a broken pan. They charged $1300. The part was on back order and we waited 6 weeks. This year I call them out for a service. Christopher said the unit looked great. A day later my fire alarm went off. No fire, no smoke but the attic was flooded and leaking water into a hallway on the second floor. I called just before 6pm and they sent Christopher out about 2 hours later. He said a different pan was broken and the sensor was busted, so thats why the unit didn't shut off. Quoted over $2000 to repair. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Our family has had a contract with Scott's Heating and Air Conditioning for our condo HVAC maintenance for the past seven years. For the most part, they did a terrific job and were very reliable and professional. All that changed in recent months. Just this past week, we had a late night emergency with the A/C (with a 92-year-old with asthma living here) and contacted Scott's for help. For two hours (and four phone calls) they kept promising someone would contact us with an ETA for emergency repairs. That call never came....nor was there ever any follow-up or concern. Accordingly, we called another company, which responded within 30 minutes with a superb tech. And, we will no longer renew our contract with Scott's. Something has gone very wrong with this once reliable company. Recommend steering clear of them until they figure out how to run their business again. read more

Scott's air is very transparent in what they offer, and the benefits and downsides of any solution. They will give you what you want, but will also not upsell you on something that you don't need. There was a minor issue after the initial installation of a new unit, but they were prompt to come out and address my concerns, and did a full diagnostic to find a misconfigured thermostat. The technicians always listen to you when you explain certain behavior and investigate accordingly rather than just dismissing it. We've used Scott's for several years for maintenance, and used them to replace our aging unit as well. They were very fast, and answered all of our questions. They even had someone come out on July 4th so we could get the paperwork completed to speed up the work. read more

Mine is still hanging in so Im not pursuing the replacement right now, but I would consider going with this company. We needed are AC UNIT replaced . Things started out really good . However once they got our money and business utter chaos . Multiple phone calls regarding money that was owed to us for a labor warranty . Once we got the check and cashed it they then cancelled it after we cashed it without notifying us with a sensible explanation . Never mind the multiple phone calls I got from various people working for the company that had no clue what was going on . Initially I would have recommended them to anyone who would listen but the lack of organization. After doing some search for a good company, I decided to contact Scotts's Air and enquire about their Annual Residential Maintenance Agreement. Within minutes I received a call from Victoria, she explained what was included on the service. I decided to try them since their Annual Residential Maintenance Agreement is affordable. She told me that she can send a technician within the hour. However, I made a 4PM appointment. Around 3:30 PM I received a call from the technician, David told me he would be at the house within 20 minutes. Indeed, he was there on time. David was very friendly. The first thing he noticed was my Ecobee smart thermostat, he was excited to see I upgraded the system. David took the inside and outside units apart and check them. He also explained me everything he was doing and showed me some preventive maintenance I can do every month to keep the system working properly. I'll recommend Scotts's Air in a heartbeat. read more

My AC was not cooling below 80 degrees at night and I contacted Scott's due to all 5 star rating on Yelp. I called in the morning and as promised, Patrick called me before arriving in the afternoon. My unit was low on refrigerant and was cooling normally very quickly. I also asked for general quotes on total unit replacement and on redoing my old ductwork. Don't be deceived not everybody has a great experience with Scott's Air and more or less I didn't originally hire them. I sort of inherited them. Here my story: During the COVID Pandemic we decided to buy a new home. The previous owner hired Scott's Air to service the AC unit because we had a contingency on the sale of the house. Scott's came out on 3/10 and added refrigerant to the unit wrote in comments: "Took indoor temperature splits, inspected the plenum for proper seal, checked the blower motor amps, inspected the blower wheel, cleaned the drain pan and drain lines, inspected the evaporator coil and checked the thermostat functions. The system is operating and draining properly. No float switch on equipment either. Repaired cracked drain line with 3/4 pvc coupling. Does not appear the system has a leak." The day I closed and moved in a month later my unit was not running. I called Scott's air who promptly came out. At a cost of $89 bucks. The tech got the unit running within minutes. The technician than did some diagnostic testing and wrote: "Professional opinion is system is ready for replacement due to age and high cost to repair leak in system." My main issue is that they wrote "does not appear to have a leak" and then write a little over a month later "high cost to repair the leak." I assumed I was dealing with an expert and basing my decision on their expertise. Guess I was wrong. When I pointed this out to them my wife has received two phone calls from office staff who just want to bicker. My wife was informed that the previous owner was given the opportunity to do a leak test but they declined and just wanted the refrigerant put in. This is not what the invoice says. As well if they assume or know the unit is leaking why would they offer to put more refrigerant in a leaking unit? I feel somebody lied to me and I have yet to receive a phone call to my issues I raised. The only email I received says: "We apologize for the delay in response, but I want to reassure you that I received you message Saturday and today, and both of your request have been sent over to upper management to review and reach back out to you. We thank you for your continued patience, and ask that you please bear with us as the managers investigate and get back you." Still haven't heard from them addressing anything as of 4/30 directly to me. read more

Six weeks ago, I had some leaking (water) issues with my AC drain line, along with subsequent damage to my intake duct, which had ripped off of the air handler, causing water to flood into the house. A Scott's technician (Jeff) promptly came out and cleared the drain line while recommending I purchase a maintenance plan. He also wanted me to strongly consider replacing the fallen air duct and adding a float switch to the unit. The duct repair and switch were added expenses ($475, on top of the $150 that I already owed) that I was not prepared for, but I did take him up on the money-saving maintenance plan (a no-brainer at $169). Unfortunately, a few weeks later, functionality of my AC had worsened to the point where it no longer cooled properly. I called for again for an AC tech. This time they sent Clifton. He was very thorough and took is time to explain the different freon/pressure settings of a properly calibrated AC, and the various costs involved in performing the needed repairs, etc. Sadly, my unit was 17 years old and the evaporator coil had been leaking freon for a while now. There really was no coming back from here. Because we had already spent $500+ last year with a different company to service the AC, it was clear as day to me that it was finally time to bite the bullet and order a new unit. So Clifton and I picked one that best served our home's needs, and I immediately signed up for their special Wells Fargo financing option (low APR, 2% of balance as a monthly payment). After we were done signing the contract, he had one of his colleagues, José, deliver a window unit that my wife and I used for the night to cool off our bedroom... Brrr-illiant!! :-) Justin and John were my AC installers. They came the very next morning. They were on time and very respectful of my home and my dog. It took them roughly 8 hours to finish the job, but it was worth the wait. They ran new copper for the freon line, ripped out the damaged air duct, and insulated the floor space to create a broader air intake area. They placed the new compressor cabinet on a balanced hurricane-proof cement platform in the backyard, and even ran a new pvc drain line. It was all very impressive. The icing on the cake for me though was the Nest Pro smart thermostat that was packaged with the unit. That's one futuristic looking nob. It's been a joy so far seeing how it learns our home cooling habits. It's even more fun operating the device from our Android phones! Over the course of two months dealing with Scott's, we received top-notch service, a quality maintenance plan, and a brand-spankin-new (and quiet!) AC unit at an irresistible offer... everything for a little over $400 out the door and a monthly payment of about $105. Not too shabby. All in all, I have to say that my wife and I are both highly satisfied customers. read more

What a truly excellent company Scott has put together. I had probably 5 or 6 estimates and Scott won my business by a landslide. There were some good local installers and some bad estimates from larger chains, but from the moment I began scheduling the initial estimate appointment with Scott I knew his company was on another level. That feeling actually began when I saw his accolades on the Bryant website and his great reviews on yelp But the estimate meeting with Scott was great. Such a nice guy who truly took the time to diagnose what the problem is and learn about my needs. After a pleasant discussion he laid out the options and the equipment and service that came with them very clearly. Side note with other companies this process felt like a high pressure sale. It felt like I was trying to pry information out of the sales rep, like they were hiding something. Not with Scott, he explained everything perfectly in layman's terms and all the differences in my options. I felt extremely comfortable throughout the whole process and felt confident with making my decision and choosing to give him my business. The installation was done the next day (extra kudos because it was SO hot). The installers were nothing short of excellent. They were curious, kind and extremely hard working. My two year old was running around the house all day and they were great with him wanting to watch them use their tools. They handled an attic install with ease and were out by mid day. The follow up with Victoria was great. She is a true pro and was wonderful in scheduling the inspection to get the permit cleared for us. I will be an ongoing customer of Scotts for yearly maintenance and will recommend him to anyone I know in the Central Florida area. He's a must use if you have AC needs in Central Florida. read more

Went from liking their service, to an unbelievably unprofessional disaster of a couple of days. 2 year old AC system they installed went out and after the initial tech came out to diagnose, they sent a different tech out today with parts (3 days later).....only not all of the parts they needed. At noon he tells me the part is in and he'll run to the shop to pick it up. At 2pm called the office to find out where he was and they gave me the runaround. 4 hours later he texts me that we would be here in "45 min". Another 1hr 45 min goes by and he finally shows up. Meanwhile it has been 89 degrees inside for 4 days. Turns out he went to do at least 2 jobs while leaving us sweating in 106 degree heat. Very unprofessional and will never call again. read more

I just had two new air-conditioners and air handlers installed. I cannot say enough about the customer service at this company. They absolutely exceeded my expectations in every part of the installation and follow-up. Our sales person Daniel was knowledgeable and helpful in the decision about which unit would best suit our needs. Since he is a former installer also he took time to write down exactly what the installers would need to complete our job. There was virtually no wait time between his visit and our installation. The installers completed their job despite a few challenges along the way. The installation was professional and looks great. When they did encounter challenges they worked with us to come up with solutions. The follow up from the office Is marvelous. They even reminded me to put in for my duke energy rebate. This company is TERRIBLE. Let me start off by saying I always give people the benefit of the doubt, and it honestly physically hurts me to right this review. I'm not a mean person by any means. But holy smokes these guys are the worst. After attempting twice to fix a leak in our AC unit, which they only made it worse, (had to hire a carpet cleaner) they finally decided to replace our AC. I take off work to meet with a tech that was supposed to come in the morning. He shows up at night and all he does is complain saying MULTIPLE times how he was on his way home and they made him stop by our house to measure our AC unit. Like sorry dude??? What do you want me to say? After complaining for like 30 minutes he leaves. Shows back up 20 minutes later. He forgot to measure something else. Ok fine whatever I get it things happen. They show up two days later on Saturday with a new unit. But turns out the unit is the WRONG SIZE. The measurements were wrong. They said they'd be back Monday (two days later) then say just kidding we'll be back Wednesday (four days later). Another day of work I have to take off. They show up Wednesday (on time at least) and the first thing the guy asks me for when I open the door is for a lighter (Dude seriously?) they get to work pulling the old AC unit out and putting the new one in. But there's problems. It doesn't seem like they know what is going on. They were here from 8 AM until 4:45 PM doing all kinds of things asking me for stuff like extension cords and lamps and a garden hose. At one point two different people showed up to assess the situation. Finally someone updates me. They brought a faulty part. They won't be back until tomorrow. Worst part is we won't have cold air ALL NIGHT. Blowing out straight hot air. Now I have to find a place to stay for the night and take ANOTHER day off of work and hope these people have it together. I highly recommend choosing a different service of more professional people. Honestly we were better off with the leaking AC unit because at least it blew out some cold air. I replaced 2 AC systems, 5 ton and 2 ton, and Scott took the time to listen to my needs, answered my many questions, made great recommendations, and got me a detailed quote the next day. Scott was very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. The technicians who did the work were George and John. Both were very courteous, detail-oriented, and went the extra mile to get the job done right. In fact George did some duct work for me and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied with the end result.
