Bob Lynch Movers is a total rip off! Mr Lynch charged me $1,000 to rent a crane to take a 20 foot shipping container off a truck and he quoted a price of $1,460 to strip the container. When I enquired why it was so much to empty the container, he said I should pay $730, so he was robbing me by doubling the price! I was able to find a company by the name of Desmond Movers to do the same job of stripping the container for only $250. Bob Lynch Movers is dishonest, a total rip off and unreliable. This episode is from dealing with their St. Croix office: One of their drivers broke a light fixture at our business. He told us he would take care of it. After not hearing back from him or the company for some time we bought the parts and hired someone for the repairs ourselves. We mailed the bill to the St. Croix office. Nothing happens. We call weeks later and they claim that they never received it. I explain what happened and Sandra pretends to care and wants to help me resolve this. I email her the bill and she never looks at it. I follow up by phone and she ensures me she will cut a check hat Friday. I wait for one week to receive it by mail. When I don't, I call once again. A co worker tells me Sandra is off island. She does not know when she will return. When asked about the check, she states Sandra cut it, but did not mail it. She does not know where Sandra left the check for me. Weeks later I finally get a hold of Sandra. I tell her I will pick up my check from here myself. I show up at their location. No check, Sandra has to fill it out first. My husband's company hired this moving service to deliver our household items shipped from the mainland. The office staff was very courteous and communicated with me regularly to update me on the status of our shipment and delivery. The movers were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful with delivering and unpacking our multiple boxes. I contracted with Bob Lynch movers to move all my property to the mainland. I paid half up front as agreed upon with the other half on delivery. When another company delivered the shipment, I received only half of my property., the delivery company advised me to hold the money order I tried to give them for the final payment until Lynch shipped the remainder of my goods. When I contacted Bob Lynch about the missing (half of my things) goods, I was told that they found some of my property in their "overflow warehouse" like it was some kind of an accident. I have repeatedly asked them to send the rest of my things and that I would pay the last half of the contract price upon delivery but they've kept the rest of my possessions for over a year on a loading dock with no reply back from them. I believe this company intended to take the entire contract amount and then when I figured out I didn't receive it all they would hit me up for another 15 to 20K as blackmail to ship the rest of my things..what a bunch of crooks..They still have my things and some what they've kept are family heirlooms, my children's baby pictures, christening dress, my husband's dead mother's art work ...things we can't replace. On top of this my neighbor called and told be Lynch's unsupervised packers were putting some of my things in their personal vehicles so I have no idea what they took for themselves.
