I had a lapse of insurance through National general insurance auto. I went to go pay the off…read morebecause there was a block on my registration, which was my fault. I called paid it the phone gave them my card number and everything they took the money on my account. I went to the license plate agency a month later and they told me that they're still a block on my registration and I need to pay it off even though I already paid it off so I had to pay it off again at the license plate agency so thank you for taking $130 for me and not remembering what you've done with it National general.

If you are or are considering NGIC for your insurance coverage…read more.. if there were subzero stars that's what they would get. If you are insured by or considering NGIC (National General Insurance Company), you need to be a fully informed consumer. I will never know whether the sudden illness and unexpected, untimely death of my previously healthy 8-year-old dog was impacted by my inability to secure transportation to the hospital for over eight hours due to the lack of a pet-friendly Uber--circumstances directly and needlessly created by National General Insurance Company (NGIC)'s unlawful refusal to authorize payment for repairs they authorized and were responsible for, after the work was completed which forced the repair shop to hold my car hostage for 5 days (not the shops fault). I will carry that uncertainty, along with the grief and frustration, for the rest of my life. What I do know with certainty is that I should never have been placed in that position--no one should be--and certainly not as the not-at-fault party, on top of an already stressful situation. Be clear in understanding that this was not an "accident." Video evidence, the police report, and the issuance of multiple warrants against the at‑fault driver once identified establish that the conduct was deliberate and intentional, dangerous and intended at a minimum to intimidate and potentially to cause harm. That is the behavior this company elected to protect, incapacitating my ability to drive to/from work and get my furchild medical attention, while allowing that individual to remain on the road with the foreseeable risk of repeating these actions and causing physical harm to others. The highly recommended, very reputable and well established repair shop staff were audibly and visibly shaken after what they described as the most horrific drawn out back and forth with the meanest most callous and incompetent insurance company representatives (including and especially those in "supervisory" positions) they have ever encountered let alone had to work with in their 50 years of business. Formal complaints were filed with the NCDOJ Consumer Complaints Division and the NC Dept of Insurance Regulatory Agency as well as the BBB.
