Sometimes the best food I've had came from places I had no intention of dining at or stumbled upon accidentally. This was the case with Bobbie Que's, which was next door to the place I originally wanted to go to. Caribbean food is some of my favorite, and when I happen to be near a restaurant that offers it I cannot pass up the opportunity. When I walked it I was immediately greeted by two of the nicest ladies you could imagine. I can tell they take great pleasure in serving guests and they could also tell I was excited to see what they offered. I decided on oxtail with a side of cabbage, plantains, corn bread and rice w/beans. The entire order ended up being roughly $35 which is not cheap, but two things to consider. For one they gave me plenty of food (what I have pictured is 40% of the total food they gave me, so I had plenty more for seconds). Another thing to remember is this is not fast food, as everything is made from scratch and takes time to finish. What you end up with is food that is rich and flavorful which will leave you quite satisfied. Every item I've had was absolutely great, but the only criticism I will make which is very minimal is I didn't feel like the rice and beans had too much flavor on their own. However when I poured the gravy from the oxtail on them and added hot sauce it was terrific. Definitely some of the best I've had in the Metro Detroit area, and it's located in the most random plaza in West Bloomfield

Had a carry out. I was not impressed with the food. It was salty and soggy. The place was clean and staff was ok but I doubt I'll go back.

Food was amazing. I have wanting to try for a while and finally stopped in. I hate that I waited so long.

With these memories in mind, and given that I was shopping in the area, I dropped in for dinner to experience the new restaurant. Early in the evening, the restaurant was filling up with regulars. Servers and guests greeted each other with affection and familiarity. I scanned the menu and noted a few items that I loved from the previous menu. Roast duck. Pork belly. Chef Milos' mushroom soup. However, they now serve a Sunday special, prime rib, a weakness of mine, so I went with that. There's something special about a roast on Sunday, which reminds me of my childhood. To start, I had Caesar salad and Ahi Tuna tartare, cubes of tuna atop a seaweed salad, and wonton crisps. Regrettably, I forgot to ask for anchovies on my salad. However, both were good. The prime rib was slightly over-seasoned and served with creamy mashed potatoes that's even better than mine (okay, Joel Robuchon's mashed potato recipe). The accompanying broccolini was fresh, crunchy, and well-prepared. Service was fine.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and scheduled one of Meetup group dinners. Others…read morein the group also wanted to come that we asked to fit 1 more in on our table of 8 and easily could. Our group is use to good food service, food, and conversation when we meet. We only got 1 out of 3 and that was the conversation since we could hear from each end of the table. Service was slow and didn't inform us what the hold up might be. Was too many tables, slow kitchen, or what? It took a long time for rolls, drinks, food, refills, and bills. Floor manager didn't even check on us or any other server. Besides the scallops and salad, the rest of the food that was ordered was a little salty. The burgers were also dry with a hard bun. Even the calamari appetizer wasn't finished or fought over to take home which our group is famous for. I have always said in my reviews that when the adult drinks menu is longer than the food menu that isn't good. They had plenty of parking and a classy dinning room. I don't think I will be back or many of the group.

Glad we got reservations, since it's busy tonight…read more The shoreline chicken sounds good, except for the shrimp, the elote egg rolls sounds good, except for the chorizo, crab stuffed mushrooms sounds good, except for the shrimp again. Wish the BG bowl didn't have rice mixed with the farro. Ordered the crab Rangoon, calamari with the sweet chili sauce on the side, Caesar salad with blackened salmon, no croutons, BG bowl and a side BG salad less pecans and cherries. $86.82 Their house bread is not warm, it reminds me of an airy focaccia. Their sun-dried tomato oil dip is quite delicious. The calamari is okay, a lot of tentacles than the rings, more zucchini filler than I would expect, not enough calamari rings. Left all of the small tentacles for my hubby, not for me. The crab Rangoon pouches are creamy. The Hawaiian chili sauce isn't my jam, it's not for me. Didn't work for the calamari or the crab Rangoon. The salmon on the Caesar was medium cooked or medium to well. It had to go back to the kitchen to get fully cooked. The Caesar salad was ok, although it had croutons, which we asked to not get any. The waitress and the manager both walked by and asked my husband if everything was ok. My husband nodded and said it's ok. Guess my opinion didn't matter? My waitress attempted to take my salad away from me twice before I was done with it. The BG bowl reminds me of a teriyaki sauce so much. We did have to ask for a couple of our drink refills or put our glasses at the end of the table to get our waitresses or others attention.
