Sometimes the best food I've had came from places I had no intention of dining at or stumbled upon accidentally. This was the case with Bobbie Que's, which was next door to the place I originally wanted to go to. Caribbean food is some of my favorite, and when I happen to be near a restaurant that offers it I cannot pass up the opportunity. When I walked it I was immediately greeted by two of the nicest ladies you could imagine. I can tell they take great pleasure in serving guests and they could also tell I was excited to see what they offered. I decided on oxtail with a side of cabbage, plantains, corn bread and rice w/beans. The entire order ended up being roughly $35 which is not cheap, but two things to consider. For one they gave me plenty of food (what I have pictured is 40% of the total food they gave me, so I had plenty more for seconds). Another thing to remember is this is not fast food, as everything is made from scratch and takes time to finish. What you end up with is food that is rich and flavorful which will leave you quite satisfied. Every item I've had was absolutely great, but the only criticism I will make which is very minimal is I didn't feel like the rice and beans had too much flavor on their own. However when I poured the gravy from the oxtail on them and added hot sauce it was terrific. Okay here we go, the portion size was okay. They did fill both compartments with rice & peas & gave me a separate container with the cabbage but that was too much carbs so I threw one side out. Now this is the stew chicken. The food is good but it is not authentic Caribbean & I'm not Caribbean but I know that taste when I taste it lol. Another thing that turned me off was I literally heard them in the back warming all my food up in the microwave and even when they gave it to me it was still like warm. Since I know they don't cook the food fresh I'll never order their Mac & cheese lol. Anywho I might go back to try other things but it's definitely not priority. Thanks for lunch though. read more

It's OK food but it's not really Jamaican or even Caribbean. I was so excited when I saw this restaurant in the neighborhood recently as I LOVE Jamaican cuisine. This isn't it. We ordered a Curry Goat meal with rice and peas and greens, a Jerk chicken meal with cabbage and mac and cheese and 2 spicy beef patties. They were pleasant enough taking the order over the phone. Upon arrival I noticed that I didn't smell any food aroma. That made me nervous. Driving home, I really only smelled the cabbage. The jerk chicken was just roasted chicken with some jerk seasoning on top. It wasn't really marinated and I doubt it was actually grilled or barbecued. The mac and cheese was awful. Just unseasoned noodles with alot of cheese. The cabbage was actually pretty good. The greens were pretty good so I guess they know how to cook vegetables. The patties are prob frozen and baked but they'll do if you have a craving. I don't eat goat but my friend said it was mid. read more

The food was great. We ordered jerk chicken wings (not jumbo size, but full wing), fried shrimp (battered not breaded) and macaroni and cheese (baked). They were all tasty. I was so excited to find a Jamaican place in WB. We got oxtails, curry goat, rice and peas, cabbage, mac and cheese, and fried plantains. It came with white rice and corn bread too. Everything was so good! If you're thinking about trying the curry goat and you've never had it before, just know it's going to have a lot of bones. I've had it several times and that's just how the dish is made. Totally worth the extra work to eat it IMO. This food wasn't exactly like Jamaican food I have had in other parts of the country, but I also understand comfort food is about trying to use fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. I peeked in the kitchen at one point and saw the bags of veggies piled up ready for prep. You can tell the family puts a lot of pride in their food. I like trying new restaurants, especially those of different cultures, so this carryout place intrigued me. I ordered the rib tips dinner. I ordered Mac & cheese and fried plantains as the included sides. I also ordered the 'double crusted' peach cobbler. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The staff was very pleasant. The side dishes were tasty, although the Mac & cheese needed more seasoning. The rib tip sauce was very nice, but the rib tips were not that great. They were mostly bones and a bit tough & chewy.The cobbler was just average. I will try another dish there, but not the rib tips. My continued ordering depends on how the next dish is. read more

It's a family owned restaurant with great hospitality and delicious food. When I went there I was greeted nicely by the mom of the family and taken care of right away. I walked in and ordered a spicy Jamaican beef patty. Also shrimp poboy dinner with a side of red beans and rice and fresh fried plantains it also came with a jalapeño cornbread which was great. Then I got my food in a speedy 15 minutes. It came out steaming hot. I loved the red beans with a passion. The way the rice was fluffy and covered in beans with little pieces of turkey that was just stellar. The shrimp poboy was big and came with a homemade sauce to go on top of it that just topped it off to perfection. The fried plantains were also delicious with a slight crunch on the outside and soft hot flavorful inside. Lastly the spicy Jamaican beef patty my girl had it and said it was her favorite of the bunch. I loved it to with the flaky, crispy outside pastry and the harmonious flavors the beef had to it.
