The food was hot and delicious! The curry flavor was a little different than the place I usually go but after a few bites I determined that this might be my new favorite. I felt the portions were pretty good for the price. The server was very friendly and the place was small and cozy. I would recommend making all of the lights over the table "soft white" though. I used to order here all the time but now when I do I have to order extra eggplant and never receive it even though they charge me for it. Also if you call 30 minutes to closing they just don't answer the phone and they close at 8pm so it's not like they stay open late. 7:30pm is a reasonable time to call in an order. I've heard of like 10 minutes before I get that but half an hour before you close is a bit extreme. If someone is planning to order from your restaurant that's disrespectful. I travel quite a bit for work and when I settle into my new home, one the first things I do is look for a good Thai restaurant. Thai Kitchen is located less than 10 minutes from my home in Farmington Hills, and I couldn't be more thankful because their Pad See Ew is to die for! I also really enjoy the prompt service (My dish is always made in 10-15 minutes or less!); however, they're only accepting cash at this time which is a total inconvenience at this day and age. Dining in is also a no-go in case I want to share the experience with my husband or a friend, but it'll have to do. In short, the food is great but the experience is lackluster. read more

Can't believe they are not doing dine in service now. Take out only. Large menu with everything from the normal seafood, beef, pork, tofu, and chicken to duck. I ordered my normal, shrimp pad se-ew with no spice. Dinner entree is large and I got 3 meals out of it. Had large leaves of something in it and never seen that. I just pulled them out. Rest of entree was just normal at best. Will be back if I get hungry for Thai since it is so close to where I live. read more

We ordered takeout so we did not get to enjoy the ambiance of this small Thai restaurant but......WOW....the food was fantastic!! We ordered the spring rolls, pad Thai curry, drunken noodles and peanut curry. Everything was so delicious!! We chose mild for spice temp. You can always add spice but can't take away. Now that I've tried Thai Kitchen I would order medium spice. I like my Thai with a little kick If you love Thai food please give Thai Kitchen a try, you will not be sorry!! I have had Thai food at several places here (Plymouth, Northville, Dearborn) and while most of it has been just fine, I was expecting TK to be fine also, I was beyond pleasantly surprised and delighted!! I tried 2 soups (less than $3 for a very generous portion - probably 2 cups worth), Gai Tom Kha and Hot & Sour. The latter was a typical, Chinese Hot & Sour soup. I've had better, but I only recently had much worse. I found the Gai Tom Kha to be the best dish I had, very tasty though perhaps the coconut milk could have been a bit more pronounced. Next I tried Yum Ka Lum Pee, a salad with shredded cabbage, tomato & cucumber pieces, and onions. It was a bit unusual; the shredded cabbage soaked up so much of the special house dressing (chili & lime juice) that it seemed as if it were fermented, but it was actually just well marinated. It was tasty, but seemed very salty (however, perhaps it was the lime juice aftertaste). Lastly, I tried the Vegetable Curry (Pad Pak Curry). I found the coconut curry sauce lacking a bit in coconut milk or curry flavor, and it also seemed too salty to me. None of the vegetable ingredients came across as being especially fresh. Service was friendly, and very good. Really a marginal 3, more like a 2.5. But since it was just my first visit, definitely have to round up. read more

I went in and couldn't decide between the chicken pad Thai or the crispy duck. I always get the chicken pad Thai because it's always delicious, but I had been in the mood for duck. I asked the gentleman taking my order which I should pick between the 2. He said both were great but all I would be getting with the crispy duck is the duck, so he recommended the curry duck. This restaurant is home to the best Thai food I have ever had. I used to live in Farmington, and I currently live in Florida but have spent a lot of time in Illinois this past year too. I miss this place so much! I couldn't give it more praise as a restaurant, as this is truly the best Thai food I have ever had in my life. The fried rice is extremely tasty, the pad Thai is delicious, and my parents would go back to Michigan solely for Thai Kitchen's Pad Pak stir fry. They always nail the flavors perfectly with their spice levels (medium is pretty spicy for American spice fanatics). I've been going to this restaurant since I was a kid in Farmington, so about 10-12 years now, and it has consistently been the greatest Thai meal I've had in my life. Also, I can't stress enough how DELICIOUS their hot and sour soup is. They give you a bowl right when you arrive for lunch, and I could eat this soup for the rest of my life and be happy. I ordered door dash from here and overall the food was pretty good. We had two orders of chicken pad thai and two orders of kow pad, one chicken and one shrimp. The pad thai was okay, I asked for extra spicy and it had a little kick but not enough to really please me. The kow pad had really good flavor and tasted like it was prepared fresh versus using frozen ingredients and day old rice. The portion size was pretty good, about average for what most thai places serve. I'd say order one level up for spicy level for what you're used to. read more

One of my friends and I get together every so often and Thai food is our thing. We went here on his suggestion and man was the food good! He got the pad thai and I got the kow pad pineapple with no tomatoes. Both of us went with medium, just enough spice without burning your tongue off. The place is simple but clean and neat. Our food came very quickly and we sat and talked for a long time with no sidelong glances from the staff. It was quiet on a week night but there plenty of take out orders. Because i have never ever tasted a sweet sugary crab cheese. I also order a hot and sour soup, which was a little burnt tasting. But it was ok. I Love the food at Thai Kitchen! I have only gotten the pad thai (because it's so good, I don't want to try anything else), but my husband has tried a few things and has always been happy. This is often our go-to place for Friday night take out. Tips: 1. mild is still pretty spicy, sometimes even too spicy (it's not consistent). 2. We always get extra meat on our dishes ($1 or $2) and the price for two take-out meals ends up being pricy ($25); sometimes we say we'll find another cheaper place, but always come back. 3. We ALWAYS have to wait for our food, even if we come late to pick it up. My husband and I joke about the fact that we must have offended someone there, so they make us wait . Around Farmington there are not a ton of good Thai choices. And I will say the food was pretty okay. My real problem is it seemed very dirty. I remember coming here a few years ago and I don't believe they have picked up a mop since.
