After having tried all the kiosks at local hardware stores with no luck, I finally decided to try a locksmith. I just had an office door key and file cabinet key copied, but apparently they are weird keys. Both guys working inside were really friendly and knowledgeable. They have a bunch of old safes in the front for purchase, and they have a massive counter that houses every blank imaginable. Was glad to find a storefront locksmith. The staff was not only friendly they were very accommodating. The keys that they could duplicate they made while I waited for a reasonable price. The keys work fine in the locks for which they are made. The keys that they couldn't make they provided me a telephone number of a company that could. The shop is the building on the left in the back behind the house at the front of the property. There is plenty of parking for customers. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. We lost one of our key fobs to our Acura while on vacation in April, 2023. Called my Acura dealership and the replacement would be over $900. I went in to the shop rather than calling because I wanted to show them a picture of my problem, a double lock and missing key that I needed removed. I wanted to make sure they could help me before I had someone come out. The gentleman behind the counter explained how I could do the work myself and brought out a key cylinder so that I could get a better idea of what I needed to do. I went home and my husband and I did it. No money spent. The man at Bob's also gave me some great advice on which replacement lock to get to avoid future problems. For a cost about 1/3 of what the dealership wanted, I received a cut and properly programmed key for the used Tacoma I bought. Once they received the blank from their supplier, it took them maybe 10 minutes to cut it and program it. I got exactly what I was promised and the price never changed. Then the person answering claimed to be in a bank--probably depositing the fees from customers ripped off. I called again and a text for "security" was requested. Again, no response. I bought a used camper, one set of keys. Went to a couple camper stores who told me I would have to order the blanks from Jayco and have a locksmith cut them. JEEZE, that can't be right! The closest locksmith to my campground happens to be Bob's so I stop in and tell them what I was told. They look around for a few minutes and come up with the three keys that I needed, cut them and was out the door in 15 minutes. These keys are not like regular keys. They have very fine cuts so I was thrilled when I got back to the camper and all of the duplicates worked just like the originals. read more

Love this place. My 2000 Toyota Corolla key was broken inside the ignition. Luckily the key was broken from top, so bottom part was ok. So I called different places for making duplicate key out of broken. Some places quote me very high prices. Luckily I found this place online and went to store this morning. It was an older gentleman, who took the broken piece of my car key and make a duplicate one for only $3. We weren't sure whether it's gonna work or not. But guess what, it worked without any problem. If i could give them more than 5 stars I would. Have been trying for some time to get duplicate keys made for a 20 year old security door. Other companies said it couldn't be done as no blanks to match, needed to be re-keyed or replaced at a significant cost. Found this company on the web and decided to drive from the far west side on a chance. Staff were so friendly. Scrounged around and found a blank he thought would work (no numbers on original). Had 3 keys made and it was only $12!! He even offered a return policy if I got home and they didn't work. Just tried them and they work more smoothly than the original!!! What a way to welcome someone to town. Called to give them business with rekeying locks because of a crazy real estate transaction where no keys were delivered and they tell me "No, need to have your name shown on the county website as property owner." Told person on the phone that the section he is referring to is only updated once a year based on what the county official told me on the phone but still didn't care. I also offered legal documents that are notarized and from the closing to prove I am the owner but no go. Lastly, told him that the county official is more than happy to verify if he calls the number shown on that website. He said, "I don't have time to do that." Picking up the phone to make that simple call to help a customer and he wasn't even willing to do that for business. Wow. Customer service and focus is a ZERO! I have a classic Mustang and needed some new keys made. I bought the period correct key blanks and took the to Bob's. They told me that they would not cut the keys because they didn't know what kind of metal they were and it might damage their equipment. I told them that I bought them from a Mustang parts store that specializes in original equipment and they were just key blanks and not some exotic metal. Still wouldn't do it and told me no locksmith would cut keys with the key blanks I had, Called another locksmith, got the keys cut using my key blanks in about 2 minutes.Only charged me $4. If I need any other locksmith services I know where to go and it will NOT be Bob's. read more

We have used Bob's Lock's for 20+ years and never have I been treated so poorly. The original owner is probably turning over in his grave!! They have managed to loose not one but two control keys to our buildings all while charging us to replace all the cores in order for them to have a control key. I asked the last time (2014) if I could keep the control key and was told no. Today when I questioned the serviceman about the control key he got very irritated with me and told me to call dispatch. After explaining to the representative of Bob's Lock's what had happened he informed me there was nothing they could do because they never had the control key. I ask if I would have to pay again to have new cores installed by them and he said no because he wasn't going to do that. I asked why not and he said he just wasn't going to do that. The best part of today's little interaction is how he then stated he was going above and beyond by doing me a favor for not charging us the $55 fee to repair a broken lock today. All while blaming his company's negligence on us. My question is why are you so quick to give us free service if your company did nothing wrong? Today's service was for a broken lock and I do feel I should pay for the repair. My concern is about having to pay again for new cores in all three of our buildings in order to have a control key. read more
