Bob's is an excellent local grocery with some local produce like rhubarb and potatoes. They are known as a location for Colorado peaches. They appear to have a direct relationship with the growers so the quality is very high as are the prices - considerably higher than other local retailers. Will probably continue to get my peaches from Bob's. read more

We checked out Bobs Produce Ranch and were surprised to see that they offer more than just produce, they have meats, bakery, small dry grocery section, and a small freezer section. As far as prices it depends on what you're shopping for, we got blackberries for .99. They had hot deli foods and a salad bar as well. Lots of parking. Plenty of seating inside to take a break or have a snack. The staff were friendly and welcoming. read more

Jean recommended Bob's, I had no idea that they catered. Julie and her Deli Team helped with a corporate event for Childrens Minnesota and the Minnesota Society of Respiratory Care. Julie was wonderful to work with, and made the process very easy and seamless. The food was perfect and priced reasonably! Darren and Eric delivered and help set up. They went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for our event and that the food was ready. I thought this place was pretty cool. I needed some lettuce and I was in the area. I tried the potato salad and it was delicious with plenty of egg in it. I spotted in house made mashed potatoes and immediately thought to make some Shepherd's pie and it was delicious. It's hard to pass by the bakery so I picked up some very rich eclairs. A 4 pack of chocolate cupcakes, although good had an unusually soft frosting. What a great discovery. read more

Best place in the world!!! It's a smaller store. It's perfect for picking up fresh veggies, fruit, bakery.. Birthday cakes, ice cream in freezer section. Different meals in their refrigerated shelves, ready to go; heat up yum. During lunch they have hot food ready to serve up and you can take it to go, or eat it there on the side of the store general eating area. Everyday is a different special. They sell lottery tickets, and always have "made up trays" of fruits or veggies or Salsa with avacodo dip. It's organized and feels very friendly and family orientated. They have a butcher shop too. Specials on eg. Rib eye, ground beef or other various types of beef. Pork chops, lion pork pattis with no bone. Fresh shrimp, cod, salmon, tuna, tilapia.... It's fresh, it's friendly, it's positive & upbeat. Got lunch specials are delicious and their is usually a line. read more

I originally found out about Bob's because they sell all natural pigs ears for dogs. So I had to go support a local business and buy my (new at the time) puppy a few pigs ears. What I didn't know was just how wonderful Bob's really is! First and for most, their food is quality, fresh and delicious! Their salad bar is giant, and look fresh and amazing! They even have a sandwich bar (I've never seen that before!). You pay per pound on both so it's a win all around! They always have some sort of samples being handed out by a super friendly, professional and personable person that makes the trip worth it. (Just admit it! we all LOVE samples!) They might have a small selection but what they do sell is quality! I bought some of their peaches when they were on special and they were some of the BEST peaches I've had in a LONG time! They have alot of local products which is great for people who love to support fellow Minnesotans and other small business owners! Personally their store is a little sporadic for me. So when I do go in, I struggle going and looking for 'raspberry jam', when i do best when I go in 'looking for lunch and/or dinner'. Staff is always very friendly and helpful! The parking lot can be a nightmare at times, but I've just learned to park far away and walk... It's easier for myself, my stress levels and I get some exercise (winning!). I love Bob's and return as often as possible. Food is quality with a solid selection for the size of the market. They have a sales are in the back which is great for smoothies/juicing at a cheaper price. My favorite specialty grocery. Small.space, specializing in meat and produce. Self serve salad and soup bar available for takeout, or eat in Their butcher depart and weekly meat specials are great! I buy all of my Colorado peaches here every year. I've been a customer since 1991. The area is beginning slightly to become a little seedy at night, but not dangerously so. I had my pocket picked once in the parking lot. I'm handicapped, and made the mistake of humoring a drunk in the parking lot, right at closing time. Turns out, I was dealing with a skilled professional. I should have known better than to let him within my personal space. Minnesota nice got me..... Just know to be vigilant in the parking lot, especially at night. read more

The produce here is beyond sketchy. It appears to be damaged or rotting. The store smells like rotting produce. I do find their baked goods better than most grocery stores. Used to like their meat too but have been disappointed in recent years with quality of burger. Maybe just change the name to Bob's Baked Goods. read more

I know the name says "Produce Ranch", and the produce really is top quality and at a good price if you are looking for something seasonal, but that's not what I go to Bob's for. Bob's has a really, really good meat counter. They have a full selection of beef, pork and poultry, with lots of 'value added' options, like burgers with bacon and cheese crumbles, or marinated pork loins. They also have bison, rabbit, and game hens frozen. Watch out when you buy the boneless, skinless chicken breast that goes on sale pretty regularly. If you order one, you'll end up with one whole double breast. I ended up purchasing enough to feed six the first time I tried to get enough for me, my wife, and my mom. They also grind their own meat behind the counter. This means the ground beef is a lot fresher. I'm not a food snob or a small business advocate or a locavore. I'm just looking for the best food for the price, and the ground meat here is a strong step up in quality over cryovac meat. My favorite pick at Bob's though has to be the fresh beef sticks. They make these in the store, and they aren't laden with salt or preservatives. In fact, you need to keep them in the fridge. They sell for about the same price as preserved beef sticks from Costco, but you don't have to buy them in bulk. I personally like the garlic flavored. The folks working behind the counter seem to know their trade. I once asked for pork to make sausage. They found a great piece of shoulder that was loaded with fat, which was perfect. They asked me if I was expecting them to grind it, but I said I was going to do that myself. I don't know if that means they will grind meat to order for a customer, or if they were just trying to let me down easy. My guess is that they would grind it to order. Other than fresh produce and meat, there is a bakery that makes bread, a modest selection of dry goods, and a large salad bar and deli with seating. UPDATE: I just noticed the bargain rack in the back that the review below mentions. Yeah, might want to skip it. Also, my wife says the stuffed cabbage is great. I haven't tried it. read more

So happy with this local business! So happy it's in Fridley, this city needs something more than Mike's Discount foods and Cub. They have great produce. You can't find everything here but most of the time you can find the essentials. It's definitely more pricey than Cub, but I'm glad to pay extra for a local business. But if you need let's say ricotta cheese... you have to go elsewhere. They don't everything. Come in for their chili and salad bar! But beware, lunch time is a mad house in there. read more

I went one day to grab salad bar for lunch. I didn't explore the rest of the store so this review only pertains to the salad bar. The salad bar is huge! Like many salad bars you pay by weight so keep that in mind. I wasn't too worried about price so I loaded up with lots of different toppings - chicken, veggies, cheese, etc. I made a little space in the corner of my container so that I could have some pasta salad just to try it. Very good. Only issue with the place is the parking. It is absolutely crazy. It's not going to stop me from going back though. read more

Been shopping here for 30 years never a problem with service intell tonight. I walk in 10 minutes before closing to get a take out meal. I was looking in cooler of pre made meals when the manager walked up and turned off the coolers lights on me. She then gave me a stent look and walked away. I do some shopping here almost on a weekly basis. Great store for it's size. Meat and produce are of excellent quality with something always being the "special" of the week. Check out their online flyer for specials that change weekly. I like giving my business to a "mom & pop" store that has to compete with the big box stores. Too many of these smaller stores have been forced out of business. I hope Bob's stays around for a long, long time. BTW...I like taking a look at the "bargain" bins in the back of the store. You can pick up some really good deals on breads, sweets, and produce. You just have to use a little common sense...if it doesn't look good to you...don't buy it. Simple. read more

This is a great alternative to a large grocery store when you are in a time crunch yet absolutely have to have a few ingredients. They have a large selection at the meat counter. Produce is good - not great but not bad. Good. They have a small clearance / day-old section that is worth checking out. There can be some really good deals but you gotta use it right away. This grocery store is specialized. Small and specialized. Its forte is the ready to eat items of the deli (has a large seating area so you can eat your food after purchasing.), huge meat case, and fresh produce. Peaches are flown in from Colorado and are so juicy when that season is in full swing, ripe and ready to eat (no woody ones to be found)!! Much of the produce is farm fresh during the summer with extra low prices. Quality of food is exceptional. There is always a sale going on in the meat department on great cuts. wheter it be steaks or chicken. Have inhouse smoker so that is an added dimension. Regular canned and staple items like milk and cheese tend to be higher priced that Cub or Rainbow. DOWNSIDE the nasty bargain bin of produce and bakery at the back of the store. Most of the items need to just be thrown out rather than sold, It's that bad!!!! read more

I'm sad that I've lived in this area almost a year and have just discovered this place! I was in need for beef tenderloin and after trying to hunt it down at the chain grocers, it was no where to be found. So I figured I would call these guys, on a tip from the hubby, and they were so ridiculously friendly on the phone. I asked if they had it and they replied in a very cheery voice, "we sure do, and you're in luck! it's on sale!" I wasn't sure what I was in for. I went to go pick it up and what a great store! More than a gas Mart, less than a full sized grocery. I love that it's small enough to get in & out of quick tho their parking lot is treacherous, not the stores fault but the customers. Most of my experiences here have been good. Great meats & friendly meat service. Good produce & prices most of the time. Yes the grocery items are a bit higher but overall they are a reasonably priced store. They could use an upgrade on some of their salad & deli recipes. Easy take out or eat there. read more

WOW!!! GREAT staff, GREAT produce, GREAT baked goods. Today was .99 cents for 2 pounds of strawberries. Great big fresh and juicy. Killer breakfast sausage and beef jerky to die for. Just moved to the area and stopped in. I WILL BE BACK!!!! Had to stop myself from going crazy. Once I take the wife, we will really get in trouble.
