Of course there is frozen meat and fresh greens and a large selection of common items like soy sauce. I was looking for a large bottle of Rice Vinegar but had to settle for a less-in-value smaller size. The store is on a frontage road and not real visible from Fairview so think of the building next to Starbucks which is very visible.

Hot and cold foods such as sausage and rice, egg rolls, papaya salad, sesame donuts, a whole tilapia, and spring rolls and more. They also have tropical fruits such as the Pomelo and Dragon fruit. Their fresh vegetables and spices, cut and whole always look fresh and not wilted! They had a few things which I don't see in all the Asian grocery stores, things such as refrigerated pre-fried tofu to add in stir fries. Also saw things like beef blood and beef bile. With the smaller space you may think they may be missing some dry items, but there was nothing I could not find. Dried soy beans, dried wasabi peas, boba fruits, a lot of spices, rices and ramen noodles as well. The prices are reasonable, and the store is well-stocked from a generous refrigerated section to plenty of shelf-stable staples. I always make sure to grab a few of their freshly made samosas. If I need any Asian grocery items, I usually just have my mom get them for me from a list that I would send her. I am very sensitive to smell and vomit very easily so I try to go in and out of Asian grocery stores as quickly as possible and especially on an empty stomach just in case I do vomit. The raw meat section smell is terrifying at every Asian market I wish it was sectioned far away from the entrance of deli foods. But it's not & they cut the raw meats in the open air (not enclosed or closed door separate room) & the smell lingers into the entire store at every Asian market & just makes me very ill. Luckily, the deli register line is only for the deli so I can just order deli foods and check out in the same line and then I'm out the door.

Bill's Imported Foods is a wonderful shop located on a difficult block on Lake Street in Uptown…read more What was once a happening and vibrant street is now rotting away due to neglect and poor planning. It's saddens me to venture into Uptown although it still echoes with past glory, but those sounds are being muffled by urban blight. Bill's doors are now metal, but venture inside and you're transported to Greece. Their products are fantastic, and we loaded up on olive oil, olives, and fresh feta cheese. The staff was fun and resonated with the joy of Greece. Bill's has survived for decades on Lake Street. I hope they continue to thrive despite the trouble around them. I do wish the city could step in and help jump start a renaissance of Uptown.
