I got my wedding bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets from Mackenthun's. I love how they turned out! I would recommend getting flowers from here if you have a budget you would like to stick to. When we worked with the staff to put together our bouquet vision they worked with us to meet our price, and recommend flowers that were similar but would be more in our price range. read more

I just got scolded for leaning on their cash register, I didn't even realize I was doing it. It was absolutely rude. The way she addressed it, she could've handled it better. This is for the one in Minnetrista. It's a joy going into a store and having a brand new cart that's clean and works perfectly. Expensive, way more expensive than, say, Cub. Clean, beautiful store. Deli salads are sugar laden, even the potato salad, so I would skip anything from the deli counter made with mayo. Their signature pot pies are quite devoid of meat, at least the ones I tried. An aberration? Literally 3 small squares of chicken in the last one. Bakery dept is average. Meat-average. Super expensive but you're paying for a lovely, relaxing grocery shopping experience. It's attached to a Caribou and there is also a liquor store within the parking lot. read more

First time 5/11/22!! Never been to this location before! I have been to the Montgomery store last nov 2021 But this store really impressed me! They smoke the meats inhouse in the meat dept.. make deli salads and everything in deli from scratch and made from scratch bakery as well!!! Love everything they offer! Have a great gifts and floral area too.. Has a Caribou coffee and has a pharmacy. This store has a real sense of community!! Everyone so friendly at this store!! I will stop in again and shop and give them business they been in the business for a long time!! If you haven't been here what are you waiting for? This is the place we go to get our annual ribeye roast for the Yule dinner I prepare. Since it's impossible to go through this store and only stick to what's on the list, I bring home a lot more. I think of Macenthun's as the "target" of food. There are always wonderful things that catch your eye that have to come home with you. In addition to the roast, staples are the summer sausage and beef sticks. I have to talk myself down from a ledge with both because they're so delicious. I get two summer sausage and two or three packs of the beef sticks. I looooooove the jalapeno cheese ones the most. The garlic summer sausage is amazing, too. While they cannot control how people choose to navigate the store (not social distancing) in some ways, I was glad to see arrows and markings to help get through the store in the same quick, efficient pre-Covid ways we had. The staff, regardless of function, had on masks, which gave me a good sense of relief. Of course there were customers who weren't. Anyway, the meat counter men (I haven't seen a woman/female working it yet) are all friendly and answer questions. They will cut things to order, which is very helpful. Sometimes I get two roasts and have one cut into steaks. The prices are comparable to other quality shops. No, they are not cheap. Good meat shouldn't be cheap, so I've no problems with the costs involved. The aisles are wide and things are easy to find. Prices are clearly marked on the shelves or directly on products themselves. The store is always clean looking, as well. All the staff I've encountered have been friendly and helpful. If you're looking for quality meats, and friendly service, this is the place. read more

We don't do our regular groceries here but once per quarter we partake in the ridiculousness that is Dollar Days. The place becomes a madhouse with folks rushing in to get their share of the massive savings. It's so American I feel like they should play the National Anthem over the PA on repeat. Some of the items we stock up: *Take n Bake French Bread $1-2 *Classico Spaghetti Sauce $1 *Frozen Pizza $1 If you live nearby I highly recommend checking out Dollar Days. We usually leave with a cart full of treasures for under $75. read more

This store is fantastic. The management truly cares about their customers and people in general. Since their remodel they have a lot of wonderful new additions. I would recommend anyone traveling through Waconia stopping in and checking them out. I plan a Waconia trip every few months just to check them out. It's a fun store to shop in. I don't really have anything new to say here. Mackenthun's is a lovely store...really, it's up there with Byerly's. The butcher is a really nice guy who is extremely helpful. I've asked him for advice on the best way to cook some venison that I butchered myself this past fall, and he's got lots of knowledge that he's willing to share. Family owned since 1917, run by the family who instill a sense of community, service, quality, and friendliness. I shop here and walk out knowing that the items in my bag are the highest quality I can get. I'm particularly impressed with the meat I buy here. From the handcrafted sausages, to the high quality beef, pork, chicken and other items. The best part of the store is the people. Staff is friendly and helpful, they know you by name, and bust their tail to help you. I honestly don't think there is a day that you won't find one of the Mackenthun family in the store. I love shopping here! Went in to pick up a few items and ended up picking up WAY MORE thank I originally came for. Their deli, bakery, and meat departments are top notch! And their new remodel gave them extra room to stock even more than they had before, plus the new layout makes a lot more sense. Here we go again....Mackenthun's is a nice looking store. It is very pricey, so it should be. I rarely shop there as I simply can't afford it. This week they had a buy one get one special on Ambassador wieners so against my better judgement, I decided to drive the 20 miles one way to get them and a few other minor items from their ad that were on sale. When I got to the register I was informed the Ambassadors were not part of the special even though the ad in the paper clearly showed a picture of them. Mackenthun's refused to honor the ad. The cashier told us that management had been made aware of this error but had done nothing to correct the problem. They could have at least posted a sign letting customers know of the error and possibly offering an alternative product. This is not the first time this has happened. The management has not been cooperative or helpful in the past and they weren't today. In my book...three strikes and your out! Goodbye Mackenthun's. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I give it 1 STAR. We used to come here and they are over priced, but the target in town doesn't always have everything we need. We got a certificate for a turkey for thanksgiving, and when we went to find one of the two brands, we couldn't find one of them and asked the butcher. He was rude about it, and said there was some, and we said well I'm not finding them and so he walks over there with us and says well we don't have any then, and so we say so these are all frozen? And the certificate was from the local food shelf, and he looked at my mom and said "beggars can't be choosers". This was the worst experience I have ever had, and it was extremely embarrassing for us, and mortifying as well. If I have anything to say about it, we will never come back to this store. read more
