Pristine beaches, perfect atmosphere, and great food. It is heaven for my family and I.

I ate at the club 7 times in the last 10 days and it was never better than mediocre. The food is bland, straight off the truck, what you'd expect in a cafeteria. What is especially disappointing is that the club used to serve well-prepared local fish, and now brings in frozen salmon and bottom-of-the-bilge sheepshead and tops it with supermarket crap like grated orange cheese and iceberg lettuce. When a diner visits Florida and pays $30+ for a simple lunch, the least he expects is fresh, local ingredients, not this mess-hall crap. I hope they run the chef out and step it up. read more

We ate at the Boca Grande Club restaurant upstairs for our last night there. I have been there many times and per usual the food is just fantastic... there is nothing on the menu that you would not like! I always like to try the chefs specials because they do such a great job! We had Julie as our server and she was FANTASTIC. She told us she was new working there, but you could not tell at all. She was quick, refiled our waters and drinks constantly, super friendly and personable, clearly loved working there. I've worked as a server before and I can spot a good one when I see one and she is a keeper. Can't wait to be back! read more

Overall I have to give this a 4 because most of our stay was great with one exception. Our VRBO rental itself was beautiful along with the island . All the staff we encountered was helpful and professional with the exception of the bartender at the pool tiki bar. This gentleman was rude, blunt and seemed like he hated his job. He even made a derogatory comment about how expensive the drinks at his bar were. If his claim is true, he has worked at the resort for over 30 years. He is certainly not doing his employer any favors sticking around. read more

Great vacation spot and the food cannot be beat. During the day by the pool all the lunch food is solid (grilled fish, crab cakes, etc). At dinner in the club the service is wonderful and food is also stellar. Duck quesadillas were a star, as was the lobster special! Pool can get loud during the day but I suppose that's what the pool is for. This trip during spring break it was busier than its ever been in the past. Beach is a little pebbly/shelly so pool tends to be the easiest place to relax. read more

I have been going here for many years. While I agree with some of the other reviews about the dated amenities and rude servers, it has always been easy to overlook those given the beauty of the beach, quaintness of the island, and convenience of this property. We booked this year during their slow summer season. We did not book directly with an owner but went thru the onsite rental agency. The units do not rent often in the summer and there is a lot of availability. We, unfortunately, had a family emergency and had to cancel our trip. We were told by the rental agent that the units were owned individually and some owners would be more than accommodating to this type of situation; however, the owner of the particular unit we rented may not be so inclined. Weeks passed where the rental office blamed the owner for not being responsive and therefore they could not offer us anything. Their cancellation policy was a full refund within 7 days. We were inside of this policy; however, could not notify them timely because their office was closed for a holiday weekend. They could not have re-rented this unit during this slow season if they had wanted to do so, yet kept 100% of the funds for a 5 night stay. They said this was because the owner was not willing to do anything and it was the "owners money" not the rental agent so they could not offer any other accommodations. While this was their legal right to keep our money, it was not the right thing to do to a long time renter given the situation. What made it worse was that based on what we were told by the rental agent, had we happened to have rented a different unit from a more reasonable owner, we would have gotten money refunded. After may attempts, the rental agent said that the owner had "generously" offered for us to come within a date range that was not possible for us. We have a family of 5 with kids in school and are not able to make a trip like that unless it is during the summer. They will not offer any dates next summer, despite the fact that the unit is not rented at all next year and will likely not rent because it is their slow season. If you rent here, I would highly recommend going directly thru an owner via vbro read more

The Boca Grande Club is a wonderful place for a family to vacation. With a magnificent beachfront that stretches for miles and multiple pools, golf carts for rent, a well stocked gym, bikes....what else could you ask for? The restaurant is excellent with a great wine list. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable (kudos to Manny at the tiki bar, Becky and Peter at the restaurant and countless others). Our family will vacation there for years to come. read more
