Our decorated golf cart one year
    Phoenix Simone W.

This place is wonderful. My family and I have been coming here every year for about the past 7 years. We go for the week of Christmas, so I'm not sure what it's like any other time of year. My favorite thing about the island is that you aren't allowed to drive cars on the island, only golf carts. There isn't too much to do on the island, which is the beauty of it. We generally spend our time playing board games, going on bike rides, playing tennis, drinking cocktails, and enjoying the beach. Around Christmas there's also a golf cart parade, which we always love decking out our golf cart for and driving around the island. I'll admit that after about 4 days we get a little cabin fever and need to leave the island (not too much is near the island except a few restaurants and a movie theater), so it would be nice if there was a BIT more on the island to keep us entertained. There is one restaurant and one tiny shop, but the food isn't the best. Anyway, if you're looking for a relaxing peaceful vacation, this is the one.

We came here for a friends wedding. It is the equivalent of a rustic Fischer Island. We shared a beautiful house villa with 4people that included a stocked usable kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a washer and dryer. We faced the ocean and had beach access from our villa. We got around the island with a gulf cart that we rented. It was fabulous. The one tip I recommend is BYOF. There are no late restaurant or convenience stores open after 7pm. Therefore, if you get hungry you will need to wait till morning. Otherwise, the stay was very relaxing and would recommend for a beach destination wedding or for disconnecting and relaxing :)

The view/beach is 5-star. However, bed is lumpy and creaks, radio doesn't work, TV's are archaic, fan on screened in porch does not work, so overall, a 3.5 star rating is generous, in our experience.

We absolutely loved Palm Island. The arrival was a bit tricky because the ferry terminal is hidden inside. We went when it was already dark. This is the perfect place to go and do nothing but enjoy company, the beautiful beach and nature. Make sure you bring all your needs (food, body care, etc.) There is only a small store on the island that offers very basic needs. We forgot the salt and were able to purchase some at the little restaurant on the island. This is a place for all those looking to RELAX!

While we were there, all the workers were respectful, kind, smiling, helpful. We actually stopped in with family members who wanted to stay near us. We popped in and were lucky enough to get a room for the night. We couldn't have been greeted more friendlier by every person that works in this beautiful resort. My family was given a room promptly. What a pleasant surprise that they had a few openings. We were graciously upgraded to a beautiful gulf side suite. For our family it was their first time there. My husband and I have stayed there once before we purchased our home when it was previously owned. The old name was the Wanna B Inn. . But let me say this the upgrades and the amenities that are at theresort are like no other You don't have to worry about renting bikes, kayaks, chairs, boogie boards. They even have a golf area, pickle board, chairs to lounge you name it they have it. If you don't see it ask they will promptly make it happen for you. The Wanna B Inn made us fall in love with Manasota key. The main reason why we bought in Englewood Florida. However, this resort will make us always come back to stay. The Manasota key resort will be out stay-cation for many years to come. Thank you to the staff/owners for working so hard to bring back this magical place we call home. Your hard work devotion and dedication. Will never go unnoticed by our community. You've also made a great impact to our family with your warm smiles and generosity. Visiting for the first time. We will be back real soon! With lots of friends.

The area that stretches from WannaB Inn to Stump Pass is known for its shells, sharks teeth and breathtaking sunsets. The beach front to this hotel is private. Nice! This vacation was a Christmas present for my daughter & myself -- we literally booked this trip in December of 2020 and by April of 2021 the hotel was 95% sold out. June 2021 was a terrible time to travel. The people traveling for vacation (demand) was more than what the airlines/ car rental companies (supply) could keep up with, and we got caught in that drama. We planned to arrive in Ft. Myers by mid day but numerous cancelations plus problems with Enterprise put us at WannaB at 2am. We stayed connected with Meggie about our trip. The communication was great. She made arrangements to put a lock box on our door, and text us the code so we could have keys to our room after hours. We really appreciated the customer service!!! Our ten day trip was pretty cool. We got five star service at this two star hotel. There were a few issues along the way, but when we expressed our concerns, WannaB Inn fixed them to our satisfaction. We stayed in the Sea Star, by the pool, king sized bed, spacious living space and a kitchenette. I have a few tips to share that made our experience spectacular: TIP: Native Charter Company, family owned, native to the area, sunset cruise, leaves from Lemon Bay, $25.pp for one hour. Best deal on the island and I promise you it's a wonderful experience! Read my Yelp review for more details. TIP: Stumpys Free Shuttle Service. Super sized golf carts will pick you up a designated spots -- one is at WannaB Inn. Parking is a beast on the island. Read my Yelp review. TIP: Rob's Pizzeria. Don't let a 10 minute drive keep you from getting great pizza. Family owned, aimed to please, made from scratch menu, much cheaper than pizza on Manasota Key. They are not open for lunch. Read my Yelp review. TIP: Nokomis Drum Circle, local tribe, music for all ages. Wonderful experience, free event and free parking. Read my Yelp review for details. TIP: Off The Wagon Brewery & Kitchen in Venice, FL -- worth the 15 minute drive!!! Best of Venice 2020 Winner of "Best Craft Beer" and "Live Entertainment". The food is fresh (never brought in frozen). We ordered hamburgers, fresh catch of the day, Nashville chicken bowl and everything was delicious every time. I hope my information helps you make a decision about your trip here.

Very inconsiderate! Rude! They offer No housekeeping service, and you must empty all garbage cans and remove from your unit or they will charge you a fee! They text you this message the night before you checkout. They treat you like it's a VRBO, when it is a resort!! Manasota Key Resort. No fiber optics on the island since hurricane Milton, even local TV and internet is sketchy. They are barely open here. I recommend staying at the Pink Shell Resort or Margaritaville at Fort Myers Beach, about the same price with housekeeping service, dining on site, internet and you are treated as a valued guest.

We rent out three rooms at a time for my sister, parents and us. You're on the beach so there's not much of a walk, so that's great. But the rooms my family and I have rented have not been very nice. We usually rent the same rooms every year and every year we tell the office the same things- a roach problem in one room and another that needs some updating/repairs...the tub is always rusted out with paint chipping off in layers. The last time we stayed there we checked in and the room smelled like cigarettes (it's a non smoking room). I later saw a member of the cleaning staff smoking a cigarette while she was working so that's probably what happened. Not cool, especially for people who may have allergies/asthma. Also every year, the sheets in our room never seemed clean. They were gritty (understandable bc sand is crazy hard to get rid of) but when I spent my own money to take the sheets and wash them myself, there was no grittiness left behind, which makes me wonder if they washed the sheets at all. Under our bed was trash (candy wrappers and a water bottle) from other renters, and without fail, tons of dust bunnies and hair. The ceiling fans also never seem to be dusted. We also had a dirty ice tray in the freezer (like soda had spilled in it and it didn't get rinsed out) and the dishes in the cabinets are always wet with yellowish water from being washed and put away wet. We also booked back when there was an issue with red tide and were told we couldn't move our dates and had to lose our deposit if we were to cancel. That's fine, as it's stated in the fine print. But we found out by speaking to other families that week that others were able to get a refund. It would have been nice if they had considered how often we stay there. Every time we check out, they ask how our stay was and we always let them know what we were disappointed with/happy with. But nothing ever changes. Next vacation will be somewhere else...we've tried them three years in a row, each time hopeful that they've made changes and repairs, but it never works out that way and we end up disappointed. It's really unfortunate because it's a great spot and the pricing is decent. It could be so great with a little time and renovating, and a more thorough cleaning staff.
