Really fun atmosphere with tons of outdoor seating and live music. You can either order at the…read morecounter and seat yourself or there's another part of the restaurant where you can be waited on. We ordered at the counter and everyone we interacted with was friendly despite them being busy. As far as the food-- my husband got shrimp tacos with homemade chips and I got fried catfish with beans, potato salad, and Texas toast. My husband said the tacos were good but he wished there was some more boom boom sauce. I tried his chips and I thought they were good, but needed a little salt. They have salt and pepper + sauces in a certain area so that is an easy fix. My fish was delicious. I'm from the south and I thought there was no way the fish would be comparable. However, the breading was perfect and it definitely had just come out of the fryer. They gave you a lemon to squeeze on top which I also appreciated. The potato salad was absolutely delicious 10/10. The beans were good, but they are sweet (more like brown sugar baked beans). I like my baked beans more savory. My husband loved them though. Texas toast was buttery, but definitely had been sitting under a heat lamp. I didn't care-- still thought it was good. The fact that the food is good and fast once you order is pretty miraculous considering how busy they were.

It's situated off a winding river in Venice that I think connects to the Ocean. We went on Sunday and it was PACKED! Wow! The bluegrass band was great and people were seated at tables, and their own lawn chairs so obviously they came prepared. The people working the place were very nice and they have a good well oiled system as far as ordering and your order coming out. Now the food was not cheap, but it was some great BBQ. We got the shredded pork and the Texas Brisket and my dad said the brisket was some of the best he has ever had. They have pitchers of cold beer with the frozen metal cubes in the center. And even though it was a hot day, we thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink. Not to mention the river that is located right next to the venue. It was great scenery to sit and be around the water even though it wasn't the ocean. I hope you all know how great this place is and get to try it before it goes away. I think countdown is 60 days. To the owners: This place will be missed and I am sure you have heard that from 1000s of people. Thank you for serving the community and creating a great atmosphere for us to enjoy

I am not sure why we were able to get in at Chaz 51 this evening, but we did. We like to go for…read moredinner after golf. Chaz 51 has a bar menu that's perfect. After golf we prefer the bar rather than the main dining room. Their bar menu has shrimp tacos, beef Wellington, mussels and ahi tuna and many other upscale meals. We do miss the live music in the lounge. Sigh. Folks if you want a fantastic meal this is where you need to go. The main dining room has a fantastic menu which includes steakhouse fare and one or two seafood dishes. The lounge has an upscale bar menu. All in all I have no idea why it was so easy to get in. I'm guessing that many Floridians were up north for the holidays.

We didn't have a reservation but were seated promptly in about 10 minutes. This must be a popular place for celebrations as we were asked by 3 different people, literally every employee we interacted with, if we were celebrating anything...tonight we were just celebrating dinner! I was prepared to splurge and spend any amount of money tonight. Started with a couple of old fashioned drinks. They had an impressive Bourbon menu, however...They didn't have the Blantons Gold, didn't have the regular Blantons, No Eagle Rare, only had enough Four Roses for one, it was hard to get anything special as the actual selection was limited. We ordered the $22 Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and were disappointed to only get 3 very small scallops. They were good but we expected more for the price. How do 2 people split 3 tiny scallops? They came on a bed of spinach, which I enjoyed. I ordered the 11oz strip steak with blue cheese crust which was cooked as ordered and tasted fine. Nothing special, but a decent steak. My wife enjoyed the pink snapper however, she ordered rice and it came with potato wedges instead. Our server was very nice and was attentive. However the second round of drinks took too long to come to the table. Like 15 minutes too long. Our meal with appetizers and drinks and tip was around $200. We will definitely come back and I might even try their all you can eat bbq option. Maybe I'll be celebrating something...

This is another one of our "must come back" places when we are in Venice. This is our third time…read moreback (three for three). Actually our very first time here we couldn't get a seat because it it that popular. I love their chicken and dumpling soup. This is THE definition of comfort for to me. It tastes like a quality chicken pot pie with actual goodies, none of this whole farmland of potatoes, carrot, and peas plus some broth and butter and a shred of chicken tail and calling it a "chicken soup." This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have. I really did myself a disservice and only got a cup.... on my own vacation after working throughout the entire pandemic on-site. The gulf shrimp platter (I got blackened) absolutely delicious. I love the Bourbon Sriracha sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for my fries. You can also never go wrong with hearty mashed potatoes and their gravy. My fiance got some brisket pork combo (in the entrees section) plus mac and cheese side... so good!! This is a must go to place, and the staff are super pleasant. Zero complaints from me!

I couldn't resist the offer of lightly battered fried chicken livers AND a two piece fried chicken platter w two sides. The livers were very good- right out of the fryer and not heavily battered. I don't know why but it was served with a side of mild buffalo sauce. You could also dab it in some of their homemade BBQ sauces. The dark meat fried chicken was also very good- lightly battered and right out of the fryer. I chose collards and mashed potatoes w gravy. The greens were tender and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were also good. The sides and a square of sweet cornbread rounded out the southern comfort food platter. Beer and wine is served along with sweet teas and soda. The servers were friendly but were slammed going table to table. I thought about a slice of the frozen peanut butter pie to go but bailed on it. My meal was very good. This is the spot where the locals eat.
