The Doctor is wonderful But the girls' service leaves something to be desired I made a cash payment and they hadn't changed it to return it to me, so they told me they would stop credit On the way back he charged me the normal amount of the consultation without discounting my credit saying that he didn't see that I had credit And she was still a little angry because I was questioning I paid in cash because every time I left the saved card it was never charged, the debt remained until the next visit!!!! Worst pediatric office. Besides multiple misdiagnosis, I'm not even going to go into detail about all the encounters I've had with red flags that I should have left a while ago... however this most recent time was the last straw. I had my newborns FIRST appointment check up, when they called me to tell me they had to schedule me with someone else I said that's fine as long as it is a doctor/pediatrician and they confirmed. Come to my appointment it is a 20 year old nurse practitioner. This was the day after my sons circumcision which I had mentioned to them multiple times, she didn't treat him as if he was a day after surgery and ended up causing him bleeding, then sent us to go to the hospital. He had absolutely no bleeding before or after she handled him, it was the way she treated him that caused him to bleed, not one doctor came in to speak with us during his FIRST appointment. Again, this was just the last straw after multiple issues we've had previously where they seemed to neglect the care for my daughter(older sister). Switching offices after this. read more

let me start by saying this is the first time I leave a bad review on anything. I went to this place because my son had a stomach pain. when the doctor saw my son, she touch his belly once and didn't even tell him to sit on the bed. he was the whole time on the chair next to me. she disnt even ask him about what he was feeling. she was just writting in her computer the two same question the nurse asked before. 2 minutes later she sends him antibiotics and sends him home. i left. obviously i didn't give him the antibiotic. i went to another doctor who later told me he had gastroenteritis. Imagine if I would've had trusted her and gave my son the antibiotics... thank God I'm a smart person that trust my instincts and new was she was telling me was absurd and came from laziness. will never in my life go to that place again. read more

We started taking my kids here about 6 months ago after coming from a different office where they force you to vaccinate your kids. Luckily doctors at this clinic allow the parent to make the decision regarding bacteria youre putting into your child and while they suggest you a certain vaccination schedule they don't pressure you and were so thankful for that. Also we didn't have to wait for more than 15 minutes. Which is still annoying when your kids are both under 2 but it's not unbearable like some people have experienced I guess. read more

How awful it is to write this review... after coming to Boca Pediatrics for more than 10 years, it pains me to say the office has taken a drastic turn for the worse the past 3 years. I started coming here not only because of Dr. Luchton's reputation in the community but also because they were open 365 days a year, this included weekends and holidays. They are currently only open a few hours Saturday and no Sundays or holidays. It is not uncommon to call and the phone just rings and rings or you are placed on hold for extended amounts of time. There also used to be a team of physicians that surrounded Dr Luchton to assist in caring for your children where-as currently the practice consists of only Dr. Luchton and mid-level practitioners. Today my child was scheduled for a flu shot, he arrived 5 min late for his appointment, and even after being acknowledged as only being 5 min late, was pushed to bottom of the list and treated as a "walk-in". My 5 year old sat patiently, waiting for his flu shot, and refused to leave even when prompted to just "walk out" by his father, after an absurd wait time because "he needed it so he didn't get sick." He was finally seen and administered the flu shot an hour and half later. As a current healthcare employee, I don't approve of the current Boca Pediatric group, as it practices today and wish they would re-instate some of the core values they seem to have lost during the past few years. read more

We came in at 1145 and just left. It's 12:46. I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking there was a reason for them being late but once I went on Yelp and read reviews, I realized this was the office culture. We came during lunch. There are multiple complaints about not honoring appointments and it now makes sense. I asked 3 employees why they were late. One of the ladies was very sweet. She check on it and get back to me but the rest didn't. Lack of respect for professionals who run businesses. The officer manager came up to me to address it and said this is normal. His name is Chris Pascuzzi. Extremely disrespectful. I asked who owns the place and he said "can't you read" while my wife is in tears because we waited 5 years to get our daughters ears pierced. There was zero sense of responsibility for being late. I asked why do you double book clients just to make money if you know you're going to be late. He said, what should I di. I asked first an emergency happens, please warn the next clients that it may take another 45 minutes. Manage expectations but he had a hard time agreeing. Pretty sad because my wife actually likes the do for. Just not the operation. Can't be trusted. I'd would read the rest of the reviews if I were you. read more

During my most recent trip visiting my parents in Florida my 17 month old got really sick with a high fever. High fevers on little ones are scary enough...and even scarier when you're far from home. My parents aren't in touch with the pediatrician scene since my brother and I have been out of the house for a long time now so we called my old pediatrician from back in the day. I fondly remember Dr Luchtan as someone who could always make me laugh even when I wasn't feeling well. I'm feeling so old these days that I was shocked to hear he's still curing kiddies...and making them laugh. Unfortunately, Dr Luchtan wasn't available on this particular day, but they were able to squeeze us in with Dr. Gardner. We were called in just minutes after arriving at the office, which made me happy since I don't really like my child sitting around sick kids in the waiting room. And I'm sure the other parents in the waiting room wouldn't want their kids around my sick kid. The very sweet nurse confirmed my daughter's 102 degree fever (yikes) and put her on the scale. She announced that she was 5 lbs and I wondered how she could possibly think my 17 month old toddler was 5 lbs (especially since she was 8+ lbs at birth!). She then realized there was a problem with the scale (ya think?) and she was actually 21 lbs. Hmmm...seems more like it. Fortunately, Dr Gardener seemed to be a bit more with it. We waited for a very long time for her, but at least it was in our own room rather than the waiting room. Once she arrived she spent lots of time examining my daughter and declared she had some kind of virus that would eventually pass on it's own. She recommended lots of tylenol, sleep and some time in the pool. Only in Florida do doctors recommend pool time! She was also happy to write us a note excusing us from our flight back to Chicago later that day. We were back in Chicago 3 days later and my daughter was still not feeling well. Our regular pediatrician confirmed what Dr Gardner had told us, although they noticed that she had some sort of throat virus and we were told in Florida her throat was fine. However, I guess that could have shown up a few days later. I'm thankful Boca Pediatric Group was able to squeeze us in when we were visiting my hometown. While I don't hope we have to go back in the future, it's a relief to know we have somewhere to take our daughter if she does get sick. And there's something cool about taking your daughter back to the same pediatric practice that you once frequented as a child. read more

It doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not. Always is an hour waiting in the waiting room, and then they call you in. You think that a doctor will see you now, nope, you go to the room and wait no less than 45 minutes up to 90 minutrs every single time. If you decide to come here make at less 2 to 3 hours room. Then, if you need any referal, better be on top constantly, they find all kind of excuses to procrastinate about it. Once I was at the specialist, 50 miles away, and I have to postpone the appointment because the referal wasn't there. Now they can't find the one that I need. Really disappointed constantly. We are visiting Deerfield Beach from St Louis. My 20 month old is sick, and I wanted to get her checked out. Unfortunately, the three Urgent Care/Walgreens Take Care Clinics I called only see patients ages 2 or 3 and up. I called Boca Pediatric Clinic in desperation, and they fit me in within the hour. We got stuck in horrible traffic and were 15 minutes late getting to the clinic. The waiting room was clean and kid-friendly. The staff was very personable, and we were seen promptly by a doctor (her first name was Paola). She was warm and patient and gave a very thorough diagnosis. The clinic took my insurance (Anthem BCBS), and I only had to pay my co-pay for a doctor's visit. If you are on vacation in the Ft Lauderdale area and have a sick child, this office is a wonderful alternative to Urgent Care. read more

Some of these reviews are striking. I left Pediatric Associates because of the long wait times, and I definitely do not experience the same here. We've been taking our kids here for about a year, and every visit has been fantastic. Liz, their NP, is so good with kids. My daughter loves her. Dr. Armada and Dr. Levy are fantastic. As far as the wait times go... it's a pediatrician's office. Kids don't go back there, sit down, and always cooperate. It does take some time, it always will. I waited yesterday for MAYBE 15 minutes. But you need to be prepared for that; bring some snacks for your child and something to entertain them. If you don't want to wait in the office, you can take a walk outside. All in all, it's a great office. Don't make an appointment on your lunch break if you can't wait a little; they're open on weekends, too! read more

AVOID THIS OFFICE! You will always, ALWAYS wait at least an hour past your appt time to see the doctor. I have been taking my boys here for a year now and it's always a bad experience. This time was the last time we will go here. The rooms are very small. I've never seen an office like this. It is impossible for my husband, myself, my toddler and my infant to be in the room with the doctor. I brought my toddler in who had a very severe rash (turned out to be a reaction to amoxcIllan) and the doctor pulled out her phone and googled rashes in front of me because she did not know what it was.....mind blown!!! I could have done that myself at home? It is hard to find good pediatrican care in South Florida and this office is part of the problem. Stop overbooking your office to make more money! I recently had my first child and decided to try Boca Pediatric Group after my son was discharged from the NICU (he was born early). I'm thrilled with my choice. The providers at BPG have been nothing but accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable, and skillful. They've fit me in for same day sick appointments, answered my calls promptly, and looked after my son carefully. Occasionally the wait times can be long, but that's not unheard of for a medical practice of any kind. I recommend this practice to all of my friends seeking a good pediatrician! read more

I have been with the group for 4 years, since my first child. Since then I have had two more children. Today was the day I had to say enough. I had an appointment for all three children at once to get shots. Common sense would tell the office to get them in and out as fast as possible, and they had to plan ahead. Three small children do not have a long attention spans. From a business point of view, "great three clients at once. Lets make this money fast and painless as possible." Well...not today. I had my two month old, (no shots yet), 2 year old and 4 year old wait in the waiting room for 45 minutes and then when we finally made it back to the actual room the nurse was annoyed she had to do three vaccination at once and said this is going to take me awhile to get the shots ready, unless someone will help me. Note to self (nurse): Shouldnt say something like that out loud but glad you did because it made my decision easier to leave after waiting an hour and 1/2 and still no doctor is sight. Needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. I still am in shock that no one helped to push us a long. I was really struggling with my 2 year old, and it was very noticeable. They still did nothing to accommodate us. I have received more help on a plane from a perfect stranger than my pediatrician had today, and I pay them!!!! read more

In a way, I'm glad that others had a better experience than we had. I took my 8 year old daughter as a walk-in patient because she is constantly complaing about headaches. I wasn't expecting to be seen immediately, or by the same doctor that we always see because it was clear that there was not appointment preset. I understood all that I appreciate that only one person in reception made an effort to accomodate us. However, when we met with "our" doctor, he bluntly called my daughter "CERDA" pig in Spanish , saying that her headaches may be due to the fact that she is overweight. He proceed and literally told me in front of her: that if she keeps being overweight, by the time she turns 13 she will stay home as a pig while her friends are having fun. Whether my daughter is overweight or not is beyond the discussion. She is only 8 year old and this was rude and unacceptable and at the same time, because of my insurance it was the only way to get a referral for a scan. That's not it unfortunately. After that, I was scolded by this doctor by showing up without an appointment, because normally people wait months to see him, so he said... My take is that no child should be put down this way by anyone regardless of this person is a doctor or not, or if his claims myabe truth or not. There are a hundred better ways to communicate without hurting others. Zero in compassion. read more

Very disappointed !!!!! I thought I had found my daughter a good pediatrician's office. She had been going to doctor Barry Levy since birth. My daughter had a rash around her belly button. I was on hold for 30 min. Waiting for a nurse to talk to. Drove over to the office was denied being seen and no one from his staff could take 1 min. To walk out and give a recommendation!! We will be looking for a new pediatrician after this encounter. A place that will show a little more care about the patient/children. I have been going here for four years. The recent changes have made this one of the worst doctors offices I have ever been to. It is so sad that now due to unreasonable office staff I have to change doctors. I can't even get a doctor on the phone when I asked they would disconnect you. When asked to speak to the office mgr it goes to VM and a return call was never received even after leaving more than one VM. I'm at a loss for words due to the treatment I received today. After 7 phone calls I still have no appointment or help for my poor child that is covered in a bad rash from head to toe! Leaving me no option but to go to the ER.... Signed completely discussed! We have been seeing Dr. Levy at Boca Pediatrics for the last nine years. He is friendly and always personable. When our third child was born and we elected to home birth, Dr. Levy was friendly and understanding about our choices. He didn't push anything on us including rushed vaccines or circumcision. I cannot imagine going anywhere other than Boca Pediatrics. After we relocated to Miami we continued to drive the hour north to BP because of the fantastic service we receive there. Dr. Armada has been seeing as lately as well and she is a fantastic addition to the team. I trust my children in their hands and have for almost a decade.. Waited 6 hours for for doctor to call and discuss results of child's Xrays. Called about 5 times and was told repeatedly that they had not received fax from Xray Lab. Then proceeded to call Lab and request that they resend results. On the last call the person stated that they finally found it in the "fax pile" from 4 hours earlier. Was then promised a call before 7:30pm. Of course, by 7:30pm the doctor still had not called so we had to call yet again. The staff needs to care more. It is not enough that you care for the patients in the office; you need to also care after they leave your office and are promised a call. The office staff needs to care about your patients and check the fax machine, not just tell someone, "the fax hasn't arrived" so they don't have to check. read more

After using the same pediatrician for 27 years and still going, I found the staff at Boca Pediatric caring, thoughtful and engaging. Due to circumstances relating to insurance my current pediatrician could not accept my grand daughter and when my daughter first returned to South Florida she had some reservations and anxiety. In addition to all of that the baby has a condition and is needing surgery in the next few months. However, Boca Pediatrics has been nothing less than caring and informative. They keep their patients needs on the forefront and ease any concerns a new mother may have. We have never had a long wait time in the office and the staff as a whole are always extremely polite. I have three kids in this group. I actually like the doctors and the staff. ...that said, on average I wait 1 hr just to get out of the waiting room and into an exam room. Tonight was a 2 hr wait...just in the waiting room. Wouldn't have been so bad if they had not seen people who came in after me...the last three visits in a row. Maybe they just don't like me. Boca Pediatric Group is led by the most seasoned pediatrician ever, Dr. Luchtan! The office has the easiest scheduling, with no problem for sick/same day appointments. As a mom of three, I can't begin to count the amount of times I have also used the extended evening, weekend and holiday hours. Many are very happy with this group and I am sure they do great. However, our experience has been average at best. Wait times are usually very long, 60+ minutes in waiting room. Often, we feel rushed when we do finally get in a room. As with any organization - the individual you work with makes all the difference. Some of the staff are very thoughtful and take their time. Others, not so much. We've come to the point where we request 1 or 2 individuals or we do not go. Fortunately we have not had serious medical issues so our experience is mainly check-ups. Nowadays I have found that most practices exist to treat and medicate issues and collect money rather than educate, inform, and prevent - here is no exception. read more

Expect to be there for 2 hours, even for a scheduled routine visit. The front staff are very unorganized and rude. It took 2 doctors to finally diagnose my 3 month old with a milk protein allergy. Dr.Luchtan is too laid back. When I told him my sons symptoms and concern about a milk allergy he said ohhhhhh don't worry about it takes a couple of months for babies to get the hang of pushing out gas. Meanwhile all along it was a milk allergy. So I switched dr within the practice. Now this dr tells me I need an ultrasound of the skull because his head a a tiny pointed bump by the forehead. Then tells me 10 min later don't worry about it, I'll just monitor it. So I'll called back later to get the RX to have the ultrasound done anyway and they put Dr. Levy on the phone. It was like I was speaking to someone off the street. He was so rude. He said to me "don't argue with me" when he was reading the other dr's notes and I told him that's not what she told me. Needless to say I will be getting a 2nd opinion and will not be returning to this office nor would I recommend for anyone to bring their children here. Oh one more thing they also mixed up the vaccine schedule, luckily the nurse and I caught it, otherwise he would've been given an overdose of 2 vaccines. The doctor ordered too many she didn't read the notes from the prior visit which was only 2 weeks ago. read more

Dr. Luchtan is the best! Every time I call the office I can speak to a nurse or DR for advice. They also will rush you in last minute if your child is sick. The best thing about this practice is they are open 7 days a week!!!! I have never gone to ER yet with either of my kids :) read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel the need to share that I love Boca Pediatrics, Dr. Luchtan is the best. He is warm, funny and very trust worthy. I feel comfortable that he knows what is going on with my baby when she is not feeling well. He understands that I wanted to delay and spread out the vaccinations and he is not quick to prescribe antibiotics when the baby gets sick.
