Pricing is just exaggerated way too expensive compared to the experience. People think Chrissie evert shows up and everyone wants to meet her, she barely is there and John Evert acts like he is the boss here, he has only won orange bowl.

It's good for sport development and the social activities are positive. Many short term campers have a really wonderful experience. Caveat: food is bordering on inedible; it's storied bad, as in many TikTok's about it so give your child plenty of cash for the weekly Publix run and expect DoorDash requests. As a full-time facility: many hopeful parents and student athletes alike are drawn to consider a full-time academy. The positives: small, tennis only facility in a relatively safe, secluded area (albeit there's no outside security cameras, guards etc); some developmental instructors are quite good. What you find out later: there is a specific focus on high UTR players, if your child is not that, you will feel palpably second best; you may be drawn to this academy by Chrissie Evert's fame and legacy but in reality it feels like John Evert runs the show (he won Orange Bowl); you will sacrifice education, meaning, if you're asked to perform 25+ hours per week of athletics plus tournaments, the academics cannot by definition be rigorous, therefore if you're coming from an awesome school somewhere else, take that into account vs. athletic goals. The head of program will work very hard to get you to commit, especially for a boarding student, but will pull back once your child is enrolled full time unless your child is a very high UTR. The academy can begin to feel very small after a period of time, because it is; the focus is on athletics so bear that in mind when you consider any desire for social/extracurricular clubs as part of your child's experience. Once you're there full time you may begin to notice some of the staff can be aggressive with your child; be observant of how the coaching staff interacts with your child- is it helpful to their overall development? Or demeaning to them? It's an individual experience and the program works for some and not others. There is a gym coach that seems overly friendly and inquisitive with the students. The academy is a good choice if you'd like a tennis-only academy in SE FL for boarding, for non-boarding there are many well-respected options in the area and it's a process to find a relationship that will be beneficial to your child's experience and development.

For example, he said, "Women don't listen" and "You are hitting like a girl." He then went into a metaphor about how he was the lion and we were the lionesses. He talked about how the lionesses go out and hunt and bring the food back to the lion. He kept saying how we needed to listen to the lion. He then stated, and I am quoting his exact words, "The lion can have sex with all of the lionesses, but the lioness can only have sex with one lion." I interrupted him before he could continue, and I was genuinely scared to know what he would have said if I had not interjected. I said "Please stop with the sexual comments. They are making me uncomfortable." He then told me that I do not get to tell him what he can and cannot say during his tennis lessons and that he "didn't make it up about the lions. It is just designed by God that way." I should have walked out of the lesson. Later, he said, "I was going to play this game, but I don't want to offend anyone," while looking directly at me. He told me during a previous lesson that another woman had said that he was touching her too much and that she felt uncomfortable. The way he told the story was very dismissive, as if the woman had overreacted. That should have been a red flag for me not to return. This experience has deterred my friends and me from taking classes with other coaches at this complex. It is concerning that the complex employs coaches like Glenn Muller. I am hesitant to return to the complex because I would be repulsed to run into him again. It is very clear that Glenn Muller should not continue as a tennis instructor, especially for women and young girls. His sexist comments, sexual metaphors, and degrading attitude should not be tolerated.

This park truly had a glow-up -- and I mean a serious one…read more About a year ago, I wasn't the biggest fan of Patch Reef Park. The playground used to feel a bit unsafe, especially for younger kids. There were tall play structures (including a ship-style area) with spots lacking proper railings, and some slides ended too high off the ground, which made landings uncomfortable and even risky. The splash area was a fun idea, but the flooring was worn out, and the restrooms definitely needed an upgrade. Fast forward to now -- everything has changed. The renovation completely transformed this space into one of our favorite family spots, especially during hot Florida days. The playground is now fully enclosed with a fence and has a single entrance, which makes it much easier to keep an eye on kids The layout is circular, so visibility is great from almost any angle There's a shaded splash pad area (huge plus in the summer!) A separate, safe toddler zone -- thoughtfully designed and much more secure Soft ground (similar to artificial turf) -- very comfortable for kids The splash area has rubber flooring, and the play structures for older kids are still fun but noticeably safer now. There are also two swing areas and a basketball court. Small note: I personally think the basketball area should be fenced off -- balls can occasionally fly into the playground (we've experienced that ourselves). There are benches and picnic tables, but they fill up quickly on weekends. Pro tip: bring a picnic blanket and lunch -- it turns into the perfect cozy family setup. Other great features: * Clean, spacious restrooms (with very large changing stations) * Drinking water fountain * Easy parking * A cute little free book box -- bring a book, take a book * Walking trails with lots of greenery -- perfect for scooters and relaxed strolls One tiny aesthetic note -- some of the flooring colors (bright red/blue) feel a bit intense visually, but the green areas look beautiful and natural. Hi, I highly…read morerecommend reading this email in its entirety, as I am writing genuinely for the benefit and protection of your tournament--not out of malice, frustration, or an attempt to challenge a match result. I'm reaching out as a business-to-business courtesy regarding an incident during this evening's matches, shortly before the official lightning and rain delay was called. A player in your tournament, who is a minor, asked whether play could be stopped because the court had become wet and slippery and lightning was visibly striking overhead. The opposing player also attempted to address the court conditions, yet those concerns were disregarded. Rather than stopping to assess the conditions or even allowing both players to fully voice their concerns, the referee repeatedly pointed toward the court and spoke to the player in a manner demanding that she continue playing. The player subsequently lost a point after being unable to safely run for a ball on the wet court. Only moments later, play was officially suspended because of the rain and lightning. To be very clear, we are not contacting you to dispute the point or the outcome. That is not the purpose of this email. Our concern is specifically the referee's judgment, conduct, and disregard for the safety concerns being raised by both players. From a professional standpoint, this is concerning from both a safety and liability perspective. Consider, hypothetically, that this interaction may have been captured on video: a minor expressing that she did not feel safe because of visible lightning and slippery court conditions, the opposing player also attempting to raise concerns, and an official nevertheless repeatedly directing her to continue playing. If an injury had occurred immediately afterward, such a recording could present a particularly concerning account of how clearly communicated safety concerns were handled and could expose the tournament and those responsible for the event to significant scrutiny and potential liability. That hypothetical alone demonstrates why this should be taken seriously. A tournament should never be in a position where a recording could show a minor raising an immediate safety concern, having that concern dismissed, and being directed to continue competing in potentially dangerous conditions. This is not about winning or losing a point. It is about ensuring that young players can raise legitimate safety concerns without being ignored, intimidated, or pressured to continue. Thankfully, nobody was injured. I'm bringing this directly to your attention because I believe addressing the referee's conduct and reinforcing appropriate safety procedures now is far preferable to having a similar situation result in an avoidable injury in the future.

My grandparents were longtime members of this grand club, and my mother and my aunts grew up as members of this club. I got to watch a Cape Kennedy rocket launch from the club patio when I was a child. I remember Andre, the club's General Manger, who warmly and kindly greeted my grandparents at the club. This wonderful club represents the best of Florida's culture and class. I hope that I can visit this club again one day. I am from Chicago. My grandparents retired from Illinois to Gulf Stream, and joined several south Florida clubs. Fun and challenging little executive course. 12 par 3's and 6 par 4's coming it at around 3,000…read moreyards. Most of these are on the short side, but almost every hole has an approach over water to a small and undulating green. This course will really give you a chance to dial in your short irons, or you will be losing a lot of balls. The course does have some distance between some of the holes as it meanders through the community so a cart is still the way to go. Some of the carts have little air conditioners built in. That is a first for me, but must be really nice on the hot days. It is pretty loud, but can just be turned on and off in between shots. There are some really nice courses not too far away, but would recommend as a good practice round, or if you don't have much time or are playing with someone that a full course might be too much for. The length would be good for a beginner, but all the water would make it a pretty tough test for them.
