Sadly the amount of trash that has piled up on the playgrounds lately is just too much. I frequently have to call the police about homeless people hanging out and smoking in the playgrounds as well. I've since stopped going. There are cleaner parks with fewer homeless. read more

Self-explanatory, a community park in Pompano Beach. Came here with friends to play pickleball on a Sunday. The park is huge with tons of parking. If you're coming here specifically for the pickleball courts, there's a good amount. When we came, it looks seemed like the followed the play format of four on, four off where a new team of four comes onto the court everytime, so playtime goes by kind of fast and everyone gets a chance to play. I'm sure it tends to change with crowds but I found this useful for a big crowd. They also have paddle holders so you can organize who's up next. Although a bit crowded, we got to play two games before heading out. Located super close to a bathroom and right next to a gazebo/pavilion plus small playground. Overall, great park to play at! read more

I driven pass this park a lot of times . This time I had to stop and see what the park has to offer. They have a dog park, playgrounds , swimming pool ,picnic areas, benches volley ball,tennis courts, baseball ,soccer field , bathroom , walk way trail,,shelters,pitching stations and,amphitheater . I think this park offers so much you can spend the entire day here and it's free. This park is right of of federal highway and not far from the mall . read more

Pickleballers! There are 12 outdoor courts here. We dropped in while on vacation and played with some pretty awesome local and snow birds. It is crazy busy on the weekends, just as busy during the week. They have a paddle rack system that goes pretty fast with 12 courts in operation. Nice park, great patrons! read more

Pompano Beach Community Park - The courts are full! - Parks Near Me - Pompano Beach, Florida

I was driving by yesterday and looked over to see what was once a park that holds many memories for me. We lived just 2 or 3 miles away and this park housed one of the biggest monkey bars that my little brother and I used to love playing on; plus it was across the street from Lionel Play World (for you young folk, that was "THE" toy store before Toys-R-Us and Walmart). I noticed as I was passing by that the park has gone thru a huge over-haul at some point in time (nicer curb appeal and considerably larger) and also saw there was an exercise walkway/path so being in need of some exercise I decided to take a walk. The exercise walkway/path meanders throughout the park by various typical park facilities including: *** Tennis Courts - quite colorful and not your traditional ground markings/colors (perhaps for badminton or something like that). They actually look like the courts were added to an area that was once a roller hockey rink (the area had rounded corners where a traditional tennis court is roughly 60 foot by 120 foot with squared corners). *** Playground(s) - large fenced in area with various playgrounds within the main playground area... there are concrete paths with benches so parents watching don't have to get playground sand in their shoes... this area looks well kept. *** Gazebos - which are available for rent from the city *** City Tennis Club - This is where the nice tennis courts are located *** Aquatic Center - nice public swimming pool and center with lifeguards on duty *** Another Playground - this one looks like it was added later; built more to "today's" standards with cork/sponge flooring *** Baseball Fields - and a lot of them too. They include really nice scoreboards, concession areas, bathroom/lockers facilities and pitching stations. *** Pompano Beach Amphitheater - I have never been to any shows or concerts here but from what I saw it's pretty nice (not nearly as large as I had imagined it but decent enough for the community) *** Homeless Folk - Being that Pompano Beach Community Park is very large and wide open, I didn't expect to see so many homeless. It's sad to see and even sadder that I think because of it many people would not frequent the park. The exercise path is a pea-rock path with borders and it even has quarter mile markers. Boobs. Along the path are exercise stations that sadly have seen their best days behind them, as most are either broken or missing (probably best to just remove them before someone gets hurt on one of the broken sections). Overall a nice park that is well kept as far as the landscape and trash is concerned but some of the facilities need updating and/or maintenance. read more

What an all around great park. I came here for the huge walking/running/ biking trail that loops around but decided to stay a little at the play ground. Everything you could need to do outdoors can be found here. A beautiful public swimming pool, two playgrounds, sand volleyball court, multiple baseball fields, two large playgrounds ( one appears to be for smaller children.. like toddlers) , and a awesome walking trail that you can take around the golf course as well. I removed a star because the public restrooms were all locked except the men's room.. it was 10am So this is a problem for people with small children . Oh and they have a dog park! read more

I attended a very nice picnic at this park. It was very easy to find your way around. It is really a beautiful place. They have nice, new, clean picnic tables. The bathroom facilities are clean and convenient. Pompano Beach has a great dog park, so bring your dog if it's not too hot! It is well kept and very clean. They have nice baseball and soccer fields and tennis courts. They also have an amphitheater for musical presentations. It's really a beautiful place that is well worth driving a long while to reach. They have a swimming pool and beautiful playgrounds. Have fun!!! read more

For any recreational park or green space I usually show my bias by going Five Stars, but though Pompano Community Park is really good, it just has too much. Yes, it does offer something for everyone, but to my mind it's just so big, offering so much, that it seems lacking in central focus. I admit I'm being subject in my opinion, but so be it. I just think that parks with a central focus such as camping, fishing ponds, canoeing, walking or nature trails, an emphasis on sports only such as swimming, tennis, basketball or have some decent landscaping or centralization of form, function or purpose are so much better than a one huge all-encompassing big in size made to fit every possible interest even to the extent of huge special events such as the Nautical Flea Market, does in so doing, come up lacking with regards to any environment or atmosphere. Hence, though Pompano Community Park might make it for you, it doesn't for me. But if you want a park that includes picnic areas, volley ball courts, playgrounds, basketball, fitness equipment, jogging paths, a four sports field complex, a stadium, a tennis center, a huge aquatics center, a civics center, an amphitheater with very few trees, not much for landscaping, and extending itself into a huge sprawl, Pompano Community Park has it. read more

A charity run called Miles for Smiles which fund raises for the Broward Children's Center brought me to the park early Saturday morning. It is a great event that supports some of the most medically fragile children in Broward County. The run was held on the perimeter road that runs adjacent to the park. The track is five miles and runs around the Pompano Beach Air Park, behind the mall, down Federal Highway, and behind the fire station before finally taking you back adjacent to the park. If you like to run or bike it's great to be able to find parking at the park and then just cross the street to a set five mile track that make a complete circle. If going a full five miles isn't your thing the park has a one mile track closer to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater. There are different exercise stations so you can tone as well as run. If swimming is more your style there is a huge pool in the aquatic center where you can do laps for $1.50 the last time I was there. Aside from all of the great exercise options the park also stages fantastic entertainment. The city of Pompano often offers free concerts and movies in the park while national music acts stage shows at the amphitheater. Other amenities include the dog park which has two sections, one for big and one for little dogs, picnic shelters where I often see families having cookouts on the weekends, baseball fields, tennis courts, and a playground for the kiddies. During the year the city of Pompano hosts many cultural and ethnic festivals in the park. This park truly has something for everyone. Whether you like music, festivals, exercise, or playing with your dog you can find it in this safe and well maintained park. This is one of the jewels of Pompano. read more

Had no idea they had a small Amphitheater here. It awesome from what I can see. I'm actually behind it sitting on the lawn with some friends, drinking some brews, listening to Seether & 3 Doors Down and watching the kids go crazy. It's super cool! Keep an eye out for your favorite artist or if you just want to come out and listen to some music and chill this is the place. Grab some chairs, a cooler, subs/pizza and you're ready for a relaxing night under the stars. read more

Crawdebauchery brought me into this park that I have been driving by for so many years. This is a beautiful open space on prime real estate in Pompano Beach... it really is a hidden gem in plain sight. My impression had always been open green space and it was exactly that. The park many amenities not found at many other parks. The amphitheater was large and open with restrooms close by. I didn't need to use them but I was told they were nice and clean (great to know when in a park). The tree coverage was spaced to provide some canopy but not to detract from the activities requiring open space. It feels very airy with no indication of the location off of Federal Highway just north of Atlantic. I can definitely see returning for future outings. Enjoy! read more

Overall I think this the pretty well maintained clean Park. They have sports activities for kids and adults. Seems to be pretty well-run but that's each individual's opinion will differ. A very large public park which hosts the annual Crawdebauchery Festival. There are sports playing fields, walking and bicycling paths, open expanses of fields to play frisbee or practice hack-e-sack, plenty of parking. NO PETS though... A large amphitheater is the centerpiece to the park in my opinion. Clean restrooms too. Very nice! read more

Love this park. Has volleyball, basketball,tennis, and baseball courts! Has a children's playground, amphitheatre and a public pool. They also have walking trails and across the street near the golf course is a dog park! Awesome location and they have live music events. read more

Grew up coming to this park as a little girl with my mom, back when it was called "Maniciple Park" but NOW it's way too many homeless people hanging around, drinking beer , urinating in the trees where our children have to play and polluting the air with the smell of cigarettes , beer and urine. It's hard to get a good run in because you're inhaling so much. They are always drunk to the point of passing out in the grass and I've just completely stopped frequenting the park altogether. read more
