Just recently my wife and I recently attended our first concert here. The concert was for Bilmuri, The Home Team, as well as GANG for the opening act. It was a phenomenal concert with such great energy from the crowd. MGM Music Hall has the Pit/General admission on the bottom level then two upper levels that have assigned tables and seats as well as some standing general admission spots behind seats too. Overall a good set up but can only really speak to the bottom level GA experience. Plenty of bars throughout the building with minimal lines and the mocktails we got were decently priced for a concert venue. They also had a tablet for ordering food and we got a chicken Ceasar wrap and had fries. It was only $13 which I was surprised due to the venue and speed at which it arrived was very quick. Despite the five stars I will say some negatives of the venue do exist. They could realistically have more bathrooms available with the woman's on first floor and men's on second floor. Also due to the overall design of the venue merch booth lines were a little out of control going up the levels. Lastly they offered an early entry add on for tickets for $20 a piece which with the heat outside made it tempting while waiting in normal line expecting they'd be let in 15-30 minutes early. Well....not so much, when in reality they were let in a mere 5 minutes earlier than us maybe even less. $40 for 5 minutes is not worth it in my opinion and glad I didn't buy it. A little over a year later and it's still a 5 star venue. I was visiting town and after my first visit decided, last minute, to catch the Dropkick Murphys' St Patty's show. I was in Sec. 201, Row C and had a great view. Entrance and exit was easy. The limited interactions I had with staff, were all positive. The sound was great and I don't think there's a bad seat in house. Yes, drinks are expensive but can someone please tell me which music venues have cheap drinks now days?! Ignore the negative reviews, most seem to complain about drink prices or someone standing in front of them. The things that matter are all solid, easy entry/exit, great sound and views, plus seats are pretty comfy. read more

Typical Boston concert venue: cramped with long lines and overpriced drinks. "Signature cocktails" in a 20 oz cup go for about $25 and beer and wine are not much cheaper so if you want to drink I recommend going elsewhere beforehand. The main downside of this place for me is the merch lines can literally go up to the top (4th) floor of this building. Sure, there's an elevator, which is more that can be said for some older venues in Boston, but if you use a wheelchair or other mobility aid then being in the merch line is not accessible whatsoever because you end up waiting on the stairs. Arrive as soon as the doors open if not early so you're less likely to be stuck in line. Parking is this neighborhood is absurdly expensive, especially if there is an event at Fenway Park, so take public transit if possible. read more

We were fortunate enough to attend the Turnpike Troubadours concert (with Robert Earl Keen) while in town for a birthday celebration. The venue is amazing, with fantastic acoustics. And our seats were incredible! We were on the mezzanine level at a table for 4 with table service and our own bar and restrooms. Definitely worth the splurge to see a favorite band! The music hall is attached to Fenway, which makes it convenient for arriving by the T or by Uber. We stayed at the CitizenM Back Bay and walked, which was quick and easy despite the cold. read more

My girlfriend surprised me with tickets to see Turnpike Troubadours at the MGM musical hall. As an added bonus, Robert Earl Keen was opening! The acoustics in the music Hall are amazing and I'm not sure there's a bad seat in the house. We loved our seats on the mezzanine that included a table and a waitress. We've seen Turnpike play and a number of different venues, and this was certainly one of our favorites. The next time we're in Boston, we will look to see who is playing to take advantage of this fantastic venue. read more

Solid concert venue! Was here on Friday to see a country show. Easy security process and the open floor put layout is nice with bars on both sides. The sound and energy really filled the space even though it's a decent size. Only downside is the lines for merch, not well organized. Also the men's room is only located on the second level. Pretty solid concert experience! I'll preface this by saying I don't go to concerts often so I don't have a lot to compare this by. We went to see Lucy Dacus and showed up some time around 7:45 (with the doors opening at 6:30) and there was a super short line to show our ID and get inside. (Then again, with the rule against camping out super early, I'm sure the lines to get inside right when the doors opened were a mob scene.) The line for merch snaked up several flights of stairs but moved very fast. Between merch and getting out, those were the worst of the lines. We were in general admission and found a spot by the bar to watch the show at. Points for the venue providing a giant cooler of water for free! Definitely recommend bringing ear plugs - my ears were ringing a bit afterwards. The exits for the first floor are a fire hazard. I saw only two exits for a large section of the venue and they created choke points as soon as the concert ended and everyone made a mad dash to leave. Maybe it's my inner claustrophobic who hates large crowds but it was very easy to feel like you're about to be trampled to death. Also, it's right next to Fenway so good luck getting in and out after a show, especially if it happens to fall on a game day. We parked in an alley along Boylston Street, which was a great option. Anything along Landsdowne and Ipswich is going to be a parking lot. read more

This was my first time at the music hall. I didn't know this place existed before this. My friend had tickets to see a Porter Robinson show. This was right by Fenway Park so it was easy to get to. Check in was easy and quick. You enter through the main area where you can purchase snacks or a souvenir before entering the main stage. There is a main stage area in front with standing room only. You can pay a lower price for a seat in the upper bowl. There were not many people in the upper bowl due to the distance to the performers. Majority of people wanted to be in the mosh pit area enjoying the music. Luckily I purchased temporary earbuds for three dollars. Those were important as the sound is very loud and can damage your eardrums otherwise. Drinks here are expensive. No way I am paying $20 for a cocktail. You can go to a nearby bar and get drinks for cheap before entering. The performance was great. Porter Robinson brought in a good crowd and everyone had a good time. Everyone was dancing and having fun. During the breaks we got to walk around and see the rooftop area. It was nice weather so everyone was hanging out and having fun. This place was cool. I will have to come by here again for another performance soon. read more

So much fun watching Cyndi Lauper in concert here for her farewell tour!! This is a great venue. We had been once last year for the Jingle ball concert watched One Republic and others! This time around we went to the roof deck and saw the bar area there which was really nice with a great view of the skyline. Took some pictures there! There was a long line to get in but once inside were able to get to our seats easily. Our seats were in the balcony with a decent view although it was a corner section so mostly a side view of the stage. Overall great experience! read more

First time visit. We sat in the balcony in the last row and the seats were great! Only complaint was that the security was so tight on cell phone usage that they hovered over us the entire time to keep an eye out. Walkie-talkies going off, staff talking to each other, etc. Very distracting. I love the size of this venue, however there's so many things that they need to work on especially for their attendee. First off, the insanely long lines outside in the rain. My female friend got kicked out and they made her leave outside in the rain by her self. Not safe at all. Drinks are overpriced and bartenders are rude. I love this place. There is not a bad seat in the house. The sound system is great and there is an outside deck where you can have a drink. If you end up sitting in the mezzanine section they have a separate lounge and at your table you can order drinks and food that are brought to you. The staff there is always very friendly. I highly recommend this venue. The only caveat is the beers are pretty expensive. read more

MGM Music Hall, located right next to Fenway, is a large venue that can accommodate a significant crowd. I arrived at the concert about an hour before the doors opened, and there was already a sizeable crowd. The staff organized us into three lines, which in theory should have helped with crowd control. However, it ended up creating a bottleneck at the metal detectors, merging six lines into about three. This made it difficult for people to get in, and the concert was delayed because of it. The merchandise situation could have been handled better. There was only one table for merch, which may have been the venue's or the artist's choice, but it resulted in a really long line that took nearly an hour to get through. I did manage to get some merchandise, though. As for the concert itself, the music hall is set up almost perfectly to enjoy the show from any angle. There is some seating with obstructed views due to the sound system, but there's plenty of standing room to still enjoy the concert. This was my first time at MGM, and despite the issues, I really enjoyed the concert and would definitely return for another show. read more

Came out for an RNB Only show and enjoyed my visit. The seats are comfy and spacious and there's a good view from every seat in the house. Security had good vibes and moved the line quick. I didn't get anything to eat or drink, but as an avid people watcher I could see the bartenders moving fast af. It was a cool time overall I guess my biggest gripe was parking. I don't visit Boston often but parking seemed to be a mess all over the city. We got jammed between a fence and a Ford 150 driver who isn't mindful of door space. read more

If I could give more stars, I would. I came to the MGM rooftop bar solo before a concert, honestly feeling a little awkward and anxious. Enter Julie and Britni, two of the most personable, hilarious, and downright magical bartenders I've ever encountered. Not only did they serve up amazing drinks, but they also served up warmth, laughs, and serious good energy. Within five minutes, I didn't feel like I was alone anymore. I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. They saw me, made me feel welcome, and treated everyone at the bar like regulars, even if we were just passing through. Their vibe? Immaculate. Their service? Flawless. Their humor? Top-shelf. These two made my entire night. Give them a raise. Give them a crown. Give them a reality show. They're that good. I flew in to see one of my acts Rufus du Sol- which I have seen several times this tour . I originally thought the show was at Fenway stadium then realized it was at the venue connected to the stadium. I saw that Pink was performing the same night but luckily we did not hear any interference with my show. Anyway I got there early . They were GA ( general admission tickets) so I wanted to get a good spot. Security was easy to get thru , got thru MERCH line and then headed for my section. I already saw them in front row in NYC so I decided on mezzanine seats on the 2nd level . The 2nd level consists of mezzanine and curve. Mezzanine was the 1st three rows and then anything behind that was curve. And then there were balcony seats ( third level) . I noticed on the mezzanine level that there were " boxed seating" which weee tables with 4 chairs each . Supposedly people were able to purchased those and then specific mezzanine seating if you buy tickets thru the box office. There was not those options on Ticketmaster. I had perfect seats right in the center and I didn't have any obstruction until this one girl was throwing here hands up in the air like she was having a seizure THE ENTIRE TIME. So annoying but people are rude these days. Don't care about people behind them. Otherwise The sound was great inside. I had no issues with the bathroom. I didn't get any food and I only ordered a water. Getting out of there was crazy - between the Pink concert and this one- it was jammed. I had taken an UBER there . No way to get an UBER there so I followed the crowd and walked to Back Bay and then got an Uber. So much better , it was cheaper and it was also nice weather so I didn't mind. read more

Came here with my daughter, who loves Mitski. I lived in Boston most of my adult life and had no idea this venue even existed. The venue is small/intimate, easy to get to by red or green line (MBTA Kenmore or Fenway stops) Drinks/snacks are pricey, but on par with other venues, seating is a bit tricky, and this may not be a complaint for every show... But finding where to purchase the correct merchandise - if there's more than one performer - was difficult. Other than that, I have no complaints. Cool venue. Seating looked nice but i stood in GA on the floor for Goose. Security entrance was smooth since you don't need to empty pockets before entering. The bars were large and lines werent long that i saw. Bathrooms werent long waits either surprisingly. The merch line was long though. Security either dont give a shit or care too much about the rules. The sound was great and Goose' light show was excellent but they have their iwn light rigs they bring. Took my grand daughter to the Minski show. The music was not to my liking but it gave me the opportunity to check out the venue. I found the workers/ security respectful and helpful, even when telling me "you can't go there" like the mezzanine area. Here are my notes (fyi the floor was seated): The center section 102 is good but flat so if someone tall is in front, not so good. Seats were a tight squeeze. Between center and floor sides there is an aisle - this would be annoying as people would walk in front. 200 section, avoid extreme sides. the lower the better but the steep grade might offer better view than floor. Floor behind mixer not good. 300 section only good towards center and down low. Rails much more crowded upstairs. Best acoustics the more center, thou not terrible on sides. bathroom design well discussed - whoever designed this should have been forced to see all 4 Minski shows. Of course the men's room was empty as this show was 80% female and those bathroom lines helacios. Prices for beverages were outrageous but they did have water free of charge in small cups. Really a 3.5 and decent venue. read more

First off, parking is a real challenge. This venue was squeezed into the corner of Fenway, so the lobby/entry way is way too small to accommodate the 5000 people attending a show there. Bathrooms are not located on every floor. Poor merch table location. Not enough room for people to get around. No ushers and poor signage for finding your seats. The view of the stage was ok and the seats were comfortable, but even as the big concert goers we are, we won't be going back. God forbid if there's a Red Sox game at the same time! read more

Not sure why this new music venue has such poor reviews, but I really liked it!! I thought the venue was small enough so that you could see center stage from any level and any angle, and I liked that the floor was all standing room. There are several bars on each level, and you can order drinks without having to go far from your seat (you can still physically see and hear the show as ordering). The most impressive part of this venue were the bathrooms. I've NEVER seen such an efficient women's bathroom in my life. The line was longgggg, per usual, so I was worried I would miss parts of the concert. However I quickly noticed how fast it was moving. Once inside I realized that there're an employee standing there, speeding everything up! Showing girls open restrooms, only allowing one girl in each stall at a time, and knocking on doors if anyone was in a stall too long. In a line of about 50 girls, I was in and out in less than 5 minutes; seriously impressive! read more

Honestly the lack of marking for bathrooms and the price of drinks makes this the kind of place you should pregame for. The layout even when the show is going on is lackluster. They designed for ballet but do music. A rum and coke will run you $21. That's all you need to know honestly. If there's a show here it's cheap so go to a bar before. read more

This was our first time at this particular Boston venue to see Sting. We had 2nd row floor seats (think Sect 103) on the right hand side of the stage, seats 8 and 9. Tickets were ridiculously expensive (sold as Platinum tixs) but the view was not at all great. Felt a sting for the price-ouch! The stage should have been higher or the seating tiered for better viewing. A camera was set up almost directly in front of us which sorely detracted from our view, having constantly to look left or right to avoid the dead center camera recording the concert (nevermind the 6ft tall pouffy haired person in the front row!) Ugh. The seats are simply folding chairs, not permanent, and seems as many as possible were crammed in. The best seats seem to be on the second level, a table and 2 chairs right on the edge. No idea of the cost. Guards at the door prevented even a chance to see what this view entailed. Acoustics seemed good to us as well as the lighting. We loved that there was both a bar and restroom (only 1) on floor level so you could still watch the show while waiting on either line without missing out. Card use only for the concessions and ridiculously overpriced. Exiting from the floor was relatively quick as we did not have to go back through the main entrance. We took the T there and back so cannot personally speak to parking, but we witnessed mayhem of those exiting parking garage. Yikes. The seats were very tight together let me tell you these thick thighs were in pain. They are losing 5 stars ONLY because of the seats. General admission all the way next time. I attended my first show at this venue last week to see Boyz II Men. The security line was long but moved relatively quickly. I sat in the 200s - on the left hand side and we had a great view! The sound quality was amazing. I didn't drink that evening but there were plenty of bars throughout each level. read more
