Such a great experience!! I went to a show this week and was so glad to discover it. Super fun comedians, a great variety of acts. The host was funny as well! They have shows every night, 7 days a week. The space was intimate and cozy. Clean bathrooms. They have a bar there as well and serve drinks.

Saw the comedy gold show at 7:30 on Saturday night. This venue is a gem! Everyone is very nice and very professional and it has a great vibe. Sight lines from anywhere in the venue are excellent. The bar was efficient and the prices are indeed high, like they explain on the website. A box of movie theater size candy is seven dollars. Draft beers are nine dollars and there were $14 mixed drinks. Before the show you can go to the bar and mingle and during the show, you can order off a QR code on a little coffee table by your seat. Seats are fairly comfortable. The pace is clean and for a basement was well ventilated and comfortable. We never felt boxed in. There were two reasons why I took off a star, but hopefully the next time I return things will improve. The first the venue has no control over. We were seated next to a large and obnoxious bachelor party. It was like a MAGA fest group and they had reserved seats on the side. Totally unpleasant but not the venue's fault. One of the comedians actually told them to STFU which seemed to do the job, thank goodness! The biggest reason I took off a star is because this is a comedy club and we paid a lot for so-so comedy. The comedians in the lineup were either lacking stage presence or material. There was no headliner and the five comics had some chuckles, but some of the stories went on too long and desperately needed fine-tuning. group comedy shows can be hit or miss but this really felt more like an open mic night. For $26 a ticket, I expected more. I would like to come back because I enjoy going to comedy clubs and it's such a fun night out in Harvard Square. Hopefully next time we'll head a more consistent bunch of experience comics. Because truly the place is awesome.

This is my favorite spot in Bow Market! The bartender is amaaazing. It's a fun ambiance, with so many killer cocktails to choose from. Plus, he's so knowledgeable he'll even make you a drink that's not on the menu. My friend asked for a mint julep, and the bartender made him a beautiful looking strong icy cold one with fresh mint. I had the cocktail he makes for people when they say they like mezcal. It's incredible! The smokey mezcal is perfectly complimented by the other ingredients in this mixed drink.

We came here for the comedy show and had a great time! The location is amazing because you can grab a bite from any of the shops and bring it into the bar to enjoy with a delicious cocktail. The show itself was pretty funny, with a great lineup of comedians. Make sure you buy tickets together with your group as you'll be seated together that way. I'll be back for jazz nights on Thursdays!

First time trying out this place. The comedy studio is located behind Variety bar. We were having trouble booking 2 tickets online so we called and the owner was really helpful and was able to book us 2 tickets at the last minute! Great customer service! Staff was really pleasant. Drinks were made to perfection. Reasonably priced and strong! Performers were hilarious ! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely will recommend to anyone looking for a fun night out! We plan to come back again!

It's a nice environment, the comedians were pretty funny. The host/owner was hilarious. You must know the Pledge of Allegiance before coming to a show here, which thankfully I knew DON'T show up late to the damn show, its rude. Anyways, its in this nice little area called Bow Market which is a open outdoor space with a round shopping mall, it was so cool! Parking absolutely sucks ass, but you can find parking around on the side streets at houses and etc, AND not have to pay parking. A bit of walking but ya probably need it. Anyways, go to a show here, have a few drinks, live laugh love LOL.

Nice and cozy venue. Performers are a hit-or-miss, but overall they are fun. Two hours show which is entertaining. Full bar and some food from the Chinese restaurant on the first floor. Make reservations in advance - it helps to get a table...

I'd been wanting to try burlesque for a while, and Rogue offers the Sassy, Classy and Brassy burlesque 101 class at Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) several times a year. They made what could have been an uncomfortable experience baring myself (literally) to strangers fun, sexy, and positive. These ladies are professional, sassy, supportive, and funny to boot! After my class, I became more involved in the burlesque scene and have helped out at several shows since then. I've even had the chance to compete in two of Rogue's Lucky 13 amateur shows, which are usually held every 3 months or so. Contestants have the chance to workshop their routine, no matter what stage of progress, to two Roguers for feedback. And let me tell you, if you're not used to performing, it's HARD. Especially when removal of clothing is involved! But these ladies are so supportive, and offer really encouraging, thoughtful, and useful feedback. You can tell the troupe puts a lot of love, sweat, tears, and sometimes (fake) blood into their work. I also love the diversity within Rogue; troupe members really embody a lot of different characters and archetypes, and manage to come up with creatively sexy routines that sometimes challenge us, as an audience, to think outside the box, usually make us laugh, and always make our hearts pound. I'm so proud to say I'm a (small) part of it.

The experience of getting tickets at…read morethe box office leaves a lot to be desired, though, so I'd suggest considering whether you want to brave the box office or just pay the extra fees to order online. In today's box office experience, I showed up during the normal box office hours, but the ticket window facing the outside of the building was curtained off, the door to the building was locked, and the inside box office door (which I could see through the transparent building door) was closed. I called the box office and they let me in, but maybe some clarifying signage (along the lines of "yes, we are open") would be useful. When I asked about purchasing a specific pair of tickets, the person in the box office initially stated there were no seats available in the row where I requested seats, although I could see seat availability showing up in my phone app. After we looked at the phone app together so I could better understand the discrepancy, they did confirm that the seats the app was showing were available and booked tickets for those seats. I also had quite a difficult time using a promotion for $25 tickets they had emailed me. First the person in the box office said that the promotion only applied to the seats that are always $25 dollars (although the promotion email said "all seats"), then they said the promotion had expired (although the promotion email said it was valid through midnight today), then they said that the promotion only applied to some show dates (although the promotion email said it applied to "all performances"). After we looked at the email together to try to sort through these differences, they let me book according to the terms in the email.

The seating however is always raised, and the theater cozy, so seats with a bad view are highly unlikely. One thing that I think was new this season is that they've taken to decorating the waiting area for each performance, which I find to be great fun. Refreshments purchased at the concessions stand are allowed into the theater. One thing I notice that they make sure to tell the audience before every show - they love their subscribers. Blocks of seats are saved for their subscribers, and I think that they also get free parking. This theater is an easy walk from the Central Square T, and is located on the same block as Mary Chung's. *** 8/2011 *** With the new season they've changed from open seating to assigned seating. So buy your tickets early for a better selection of seats. The theater gets chilly sometimes, so consider bringing a sweater. *** 10/2012 *** Validation tickets for the University Park @ MIT Garage - 55 Franklin Street are available to all CST patrons at the Will Call Counter for parking after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends for a max of 5 hours. Parking for $5? Nice! PS - they sell a soda pop sweetened with cane sugar here - I recommend the cherry. *** 11/2013 *** 2013-2014 is the 3rd season that the Central Square Theater is playing "Arabian Nights" based on "One Thousand and One Nights." I highly recommend going to see it - it is terrific and I've seen it both seasons prior and am scheduled to watch it this December also. For Black Friday through Cyber Monday, the tickets are $35 (vs up to $61), or 4-Play Subscriptions (peak) are $100 (vs $163 regular price). *** 8/2014 *** For those with little ones, Central Square Theater has begun offering a Date Night with optional childcare ($20 for the first child aged 6 and up, $5 for any additional children) for specific nights. Theater, right in your face. It was cool. It was scheduled to accompany the performance of "Her Aching Heart" as part of their Central Conversations series of discussions and special events. *** 12/2015 *** The fifth and final run of the holiday special "Arabian Nights." See it while you can! This season CST no longer decorated the lobby area specific to each show, but you can still enjoy whiling away the time till the theater doors open, relaxing at one of a number of small tables or checking out the framed photos of past shows hanging on the wall. They sell snacks and drinks that can be taken with you into the theater - I highly recommend the oatmeal cookies. But my beloved cherry soda is no longer available here, as they've changed brands. I loved how they wove together the tales of the Little Match Girl and the Happy Prince in "Matchless & The Happy Prince." I admit it - I got a bit teary eyed at one point. *** 12/2016 *** CST has changed their restrooms to be All Gender shared restrooms as they believe that everyone should have a safe place to use the bathroom. What does that mean? It means anyone can choose to visit either of their previously labeled Men's and Ladies' restrooms. It also means that if will make you feel safe, you may ask a staff member to accompany you to the restroom. What I didn't like was how you could peek in (and out) of the stalls through the gaps around the door - well, no more! They've installed privacy covers which makes your going private from accidental eyes.
