    Bonocó Benedict
    Sarin P.

I was starting to get a little homesick until I came across Boconó on Yelp. The pictures and reviews made me feel like it offered a modern Spanish breakfast experience. After walking through El Rastro on Sunday morning, we made our way inside, picked up a menu, and waited to be seated. It has a rather informal seating arrangement. You let the host know you are waiting and he'll make sure everyone is accounted for. For a Sunday, this was a busy neighborhood so we waited about 15 minutes before being seated, maybe 10 minutes later our order was placed, and we waited patiently (or tried to at least). I had my eye on the Boconó Benedict and although it's listed as a lunch item, you can certainly order it for breakfast. One order is large enough for two, three if you're pushing it. But, everything just felt right and cozy. The Benedict had a soft boiled egg on top of a sweet corn base with cheese in the middle! It was then layered with a hollandaise type sauce and more cheese, and fresh avocados on the side. And of course, the classic jambon!

Very friendly and charming, but food falls a little short. The poached egg was over cooked and entire dish was cold. Good espresso and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Delicious veggie toast with great coffee and very good service

Pleasant atmosphere. Good service. Great food and coffee. Highly recommended. Cheers!

Very cute coffee place with yummy food. Staff was very nice and helpful even though we spoke no Spanish. The bagel benedict was delicious and the coffee was good. Would recommend for a quick and quiet breakfast/brunch spot!

Stopped by to get my day started. Great freshly made latte unlike the ones you get at Starbucks. Bagel eggs Benedict was great and huge actually. I couldn't finish it but it was delicious. The coffee shop is decent size and they have a restroom/toilet for their customers. Customer service was exceptional and they spoke English so it was convenient. They however do not have an outdoor seating, at least when I visited.

Wonderful place. Great coffee, great brunch and service exceeding any expectations. We will stop by on our next visit for sure!

Having best coffee in Madrid, eggs Benedict I'll dream about for hours and wish there would be place close to where I live to have them and service for which was surely the best I've seen in a long time. Easy 5*. Thank you!

Very friendly but inexperienced staff. What they lack in experience they make up for in enthusiasm. We were the first customers of the day at 8:45 am. No breakfast pastries at all which was a disappointment. Coffee americano was good. The cook (partner) was late so no eggs for breakfast. We settled for toast covered in diced tomatoes and jamon (ham) drizzled in olive oil. Pretty good but sloppy. Over all a sweet little spot, just opened in January and the potential is there.

Bagel Benedict with avocado. So. Delicious!

You have the option between a bowl and a pita for both, and all the proper accoutrements for a proper falafel. The hummus is exactly what you want and the tahini is to die for. The vibes here are great too, grab a beer with whatever you order. My only complaint would be that they do not give enough fries for the price. other than that, if you are looking for a good falafel or sabich, make sure to give Falafelria a chance.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

The service is a little bit on the slower side, but each dish comes out plated very well. They have a good variety of dishes and the portion sizes are decent for sharing. The majority of tables are in their own little alcove making it very private and romantic. My husband and I felt like we were secluded in our little space. We started with delicious glasses of wine and the amuse Bouche (they do charge for this, 2 euro per person). We shared the butterfish and arroz in a creamy red sauce with seafood. The food was delicious! We ended the meal with a light and airy cheesecake. They added a candle for my celebration! We were amazed that this entire meal came out to only about $60! Wild! It was such a delicious meal and such a gorgeous setting, especially for the price.

What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The decor is modern, simple yet funky and homey, and the tables in front of the windows are beautiful! The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)
