I ordered two items: English breakfast with cafe con leche Cinnamon roll with Oreos and bananas Yes - I splurged but I was on vacation too! The eggs were great. The rustic bread was fine, but perhaps a bit too tough to chew. Coffee was excellent. The cinnamon roll was the delight. I never eat this at home and it was a delight for sure! Food was good, prices decent - less than $5 for continental breakfast (bread item + coffee)... eggs + meat items $12-$15 euros. Service was mediocre. We were on the 3rd floor and felt like they kinda forgot about us. But the place was nice inside and clean. They also had outside (al fresco) seating, and the food & coffee was actually pretty good. Little bit of a line at 9-10 in the morning on a weekday but was pretty fast moving. We had the Iberico brunch set for 20 euros and shared it between the two of us and it was delicious! The bread (which normally is unmemorable) was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It's perfect on it's own or dipped in the famous tomato soup. The prosciutto and Spanish omelette were also very tasty and the french toast on the side was soo good (and not too sweet!). Plus you get coffee and a juice included. read more

The brunch menu is pretty big and has lot of options. there are different types of Brunch: English, French, American, Spanish etc. They have different breakfast options as well which were cheap and looked good.They also have salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta etc. Hubby ordered French brunch option which came with a french omelette, crepe with brie cheese, 2 french pastries, bread with butter and jam, coffee and glass of cava/juice/wine. It was a lot of food for about 16 euros. I ordered the Andalusian Gazpacho. The soup was good ( 3.5 stars). the brunch seemed good too. Went here for brunch. Service was slow and the place seemed understaffed. We had to flag down a waiter for almost everything. We walked in and after standing around for around 5 min they were able to seat us. Ordered the Iberian brunch and the English breakfast with an extra basket of bread. The breads were warm and good. My Iberian brunch came with a cinnamon roll that was dry and had little cinnamon inside. We asked for butter and jam, and they charged extra. The sunny side up and scrambled eggs that we received had no salt or pepper on them, though the eggs were of good quality. My Iberian ham was super salty, and the tomato sauce it came with had a strange taste. The juices, tea, and coffee were as expected. They gave me a full teapot for my tea which was appreciated. Looking for a breakfast spot? Look no further! This place was the bomb. They have a couple of spots around the city but this one is for the one near the main plaza (Plaza Mayor). I ordered some bread with a tomato type sauce and ham. Family ordered some eggs Benedict and claim it was the best they've ever had. The tea, the juice, everything in general was very very good. The customer service was amazing and were very patient explaining the differences in some stuff. We speak spanish fluently but some stuff is called something else. They also have sweet bread for all the bread lovers out there. Anyway, you should try it out. Definitely inexpensive and the portions are awesome. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! None of us being huge fans of breakfast food, we loved the Mexicana - a tortilla covered in bean paste and roasted red pepper, three eggs, avocado, a tomato sauce, and topped with another tortilla. The five star review is based entirely on this dish. I'm not sure how they cook it but it was delicious, a similar idea to huevos rancheros. Comes with a coffee and a tall glass of very fresh orange juice which was a great addition to meal. The whole meal with coffee and juice cost 7.50. Recommend going before 12:30 because that's when they have their brunch specials. The place itself is really nice with a rustic feel and a great environment to spend an hour or two. It's split up into a main floor and a loft and was pretty full when we went on a Thursday morning. My new go to spot for breakfast/brunch when friends visit Madrid! read more

It is a shame to give this place just one star because the food was great, but the service was the very definition of incompetent. We came in for breakfast and were seated immediately, but then we had to wait over 25 minutes until the waitress took our order. In the meantime the 4 people next to us have ordered, got their food, and by the time our order was taken, they were already leaving. In the meantime the waitress has mixed up orders at least at two nearby tables. She was serving the tables consecutively rather than parallel, meaning that if you got your order, you were very likely to get your food and check before anyone was served. Even when we were done eating, the waitress preferred to clean other tables rather than pay attention to clients, it was difficult to get her attention for the check. We weren't the only ones being overlooked: at least two other tables got the same treatment. Note that it was breakfast time (9:30) and the cafe was pretty full. Maybe they are understaffed. Maybe the waitress is new. But to wait for 45 minutes just to get some joghurt, cereals and coffee - that's too much. The food was great though, cereals with fresh fruits and nice topping, probably worth the 7'50€. Maybe the portions are a bit too small for the price, but still within the acceptable range. We would have ordered more because we were hungry and the food was great, but we feared we'd have to waste another half an hour or so. If you are stopping by in a time when not so much is going on, then by all means feel free to try it, and you probably will have a great time. We didn't, though. We will eat breakfast in the vicinity at least 3 more times, but we probably won't come back. read more

Everything else was decent, though we're spoiled after a couple weeks in Spain and I know if we were in the States I'd be more complimentary of the juice and coffee. Service was awkward since they automatically gave us an English menu (even though we asked for a table in Spanish), but it seemed like the staff's English wasn't great.
