Most of all though I really enjoy the down-to-earth service and friendliness of both the owners and their staff. Free wi-fi.

Well it is called a 'Literary Cafe.' The food menu is rather posh with very clean feel to it. Yes you can get an American Breakfast, but it is just a stack of four pancakes with syrup - no bacon. Not sure how I feel about that. Actual yes I do. "I want me some bacon!" Sandwiches seem to be marketed as the A-list eat, but something else caught my eye. How about pancakes with baked apples, maple syrup, cream cheese and pecans. Oh yeah! I also purchased a house smoothie that tasted good, but once my pancakes arrived that bad boy had my undivided attention. As that first bite hit my palate my reaction was one of an overload of sweetness. Within seconds my tastebuds rose to the challenge and declared "Leon we can handle this!" Boy did they handle it well. I loved my lunch. It was priced at £5.95 so I'll let you decide if you think it's expensive. Rustique Literary Cafe is one of those places to get away from the hustle and bustle. The vibe is relaxed, the food is good, the clientèle remarkably middle-class and it has that all important free wifi.

I was so so so happy with my bahn mi sandwich…read more We ducked in just before the Metric show at The Forum for a quick bite. I had the crispy pork bahn mi and was told they only had enough meat for a half order, so the other half of the sandwich I could pick another meat! I went lemongrass chicken. Husband grabbed the crispy pork rice bowl. We were both extremely happy with our orders. The baguette was so fresh, with a crispy/chewy exterior and fluffy interior and a very good size. (I've scaled back my bread/gluten intake considerably, so I am over the moon my choice to eat bread wasn't "wasted" on this meal - that baguette was divine). It had good amount a meat (could have used a tad more) and a great amount of fresh shredded carrot and lettuce, and the peanut sauce was yum yum. I didn't try the bowl but it looked exactly like mine, but deconstructed and rice instead of bread. The service was super sweet and very friendly. More of a takeaway place but better quality ingredients than your average chicken or kebab shop (and the prices reflect that - my bahn mi was £6.50).

There is literally a small table and a couple of stools for seating area, so ideal for a takeaway but if looking to sit in don't bother at peak times i.e. lunchtime.
