You know it's a solid spot when the locals are here in force, not just the tourists, and they are. All staples here are solid, particularly their croquettes, their grilled artichoke hearts with romanesco sauce, papas bravas and the wine selection. While the front of the restaurant offers a small tapas and drinks on stools with barrel tables experience, the locals instead populate the outdoor side area (interior to the restaurant) and the larger back area (larger than it looks from the street) where they order larger meals, including baked pasta dishes. Many of the dishes served in the back are family style & intended to be shared. This is a good El Born/La Ribera neighborhood staple.

Fast service and incredible tapas, with affordable drinks to round out a great evening in Barcelona! Getting a table can be chaotic, but luckily we found reservations available for just a few minutes after we came so we were seated quickly. The mussels were incredible and the patatas bravas were excellently seasoned. Every bite was fantastic and the €3,50 vermut was a great complement. So glad I stumbled by and was able to experience such a great meal.

We came here for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the service... I wish I got the waiters name but he was attentive, honest with his recommendations, and quick. The ambience was great, somewhat casual (but again I was there for lunch).

When in Barcelona, whether for work or leisure, it's about finding the best place for tapas. Now, I'm not going to remember every dish ordered because my colleagues and I went on a bit of a tear, but rather, tell you that the overall experience was great. Service staff started off slow and a bit disinterested in serving us, coming off a bit gruff and inpatient. But quickly, our server, Julian, got more personable and friendly that by the end of the meal was engaging us in conversation. He was awesome! As for the food, an every dish ordered was fantastic! The Jamon Iberico "Maldonado" stood out for me. The Croquettes were very good too. Order one of everything because based on what we ordered, there was nothing lacking; you will leave the restaurant satisfied. If you find yourself in Barcelona, this place is somewhere you must go!

Nice food and environment. Long queue, but it was not too bad for a foreigner. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Just wow. And i thought i lived in a culinary mecca.... coming from San Francisco, food expectations are high, but this place blew me away for the quality and value. literally the best octopus --- olives--- artichoke -- list goes on.. that i've ever had. now the ambiance is something else too. rustic barrels serve as tables on the front of house, while the spacious back secretly tucked away has a more elegant family style vibe. Can't wait to come back before leaving. cheers

probably our best meal in Barcelona! we originally came to try the spot next door but the line was super long, and we were starving so we opted for Bodega as we saw there were a good amount of people inside but no line. we ended up waiting 5 min for a party of 4 so basically no wait at all. the tapas were everything! we saw everyone order the anchovies so knew we had to get them as well and they ended up being my personal favorite, everything else was solid and the perfect start to the night. i only wish the sangria had a bit more wine vs juice and the meal ended up being one of our more pricey bills during our week in Spain. it seemed like this restaurant was a spot for locals in Gothic Quarter so glad we got to try it!

Great food where the locals go. How do I know? Well this place was recommended by a local and this place was hidden in the gothic quarter. Food was amazing. Had grilled artichoke hearts, iberico ham/rice, calamari, croquettes. Amazing food.

Stopped by this place while walking in Gothic quarters. Pros - ample seating and great for large groups. They have a wide selection of tapas. My favorites were the anchovies, grilles octopus, papas bravas, and the croquettes. The anchovies here were the most flavorful I have had in Spain. The grilled octopus was grilled to perfect and was not slimy or overly chewy. Their sangria was awesome too Cons - none Definitely check this place out, especially if you are in a large group

Probably our favorite meal while in Barcelona. They are open throughout the day which is a plus. Everything we had here was amazing. Patatas bravas were fried very well and they were considerate enough to put the sauce on the side with our little one. Grilled octopus was one of the best I've had. Perfect char but still soft on the inside. Pork with rice was very heartwarming and is a perfect dish to fill you up. Crema catalana was a perfect final touch. The fresh, citrus dessert was delicious. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive and the dining area is very big with high ceilings and second floor seating as well. Highly recommend.

My wife and I were on vacation in Spain and we saw a YouTube recommendation from the Spain Revealed channel, which is great. It was pretty early in Spain time and we sat at a table top and I ordered a beer. I was told that we had to try the fried potatoes with the spicy sauce and aioli. It was AMAZING! You have to try this stuff. Nice and crispy pottoes and the mayo mixture balances out the pretty spicy red sauce. They have these wine vessels that they fill up that looks like a genie lamp and you pour it straight into your mouth, I am not a big wine guy, but it looked really fun and cool. They have English menus and our server was great. Great atmosphere inside, kind of like a supper club and it was starting to fill up as we finished our meal. A must try, get these fried, spicy potatoes!

What a wonderful surprise! The restaurant looks very small from the outside but it's very large and beautiful. We stopped here on a food tour and were so pleasantly surprised at the delicious food. We liked it so much we tried to come back again but they were closed. Definitely a great place!! The service was great as well.

Great food, outstanding service!! Not too busy on a Sunday night, 6 of us were seated almost immediately. Had the croquettes, patatas brabis, bacalau, trinxat (cauliflower and nlood sausage), calamaras a la plancha... Everything was tasty.

Some meals stay with you forever, and this was one of them…read more The food here was, without question, some of the best I've ever had. The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But what makes this place truly special is something that can't be captured on a menu. The atmosphere, the warmth, the way time seems to slow down... words simply can't do it justice. If you're visiting Barcelona, don't just come here for dinner. Come here to fall in love with the food, the city, the moment, or maybe even someone sitting across the table. An experience I'll never forget.

My husband and I arrived to Barcelona late in the evening. We had read reviews that the food scene…read moreextended well into the night, so we decided that even though it was 10:30pm, we would still walk over to Tapeo and see if we had any luck getting seating. Well, the restaurant was cute and cozy with a great ambiance. With luck on our side, we found two seats at the bar and quickly ordered drinks. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria (because why not?). The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Overall, what a great experience for our first meal in Barcelona! Cute and hidden gem.
