We spied a couple of seats at the bar & started to ponder the chalkboard menu ( all in Spanish). It's been a long time for me since my Spanish GCSE so took a punt & requested some meat & fish tapas ( alongside a glass of white & a beer). The morcilla & chorizo arrived quickly & were very flavoursome. Following this the salmoneta arrived - a salmon dip with some chorizo in. It probably isn't something i d pick but was tasty & went well with the bread sticks & sausage! Sheep's cheese was warm from the bar which brought out all of the flavour. The best dish ( which may be our favourite dish of the trip) was a cone of different types of fried fish including white bait & some fantastically citrus fish nuggets. We finished it off with another wine & beer, some tuna on bread & a vermouth each (1 euro, 50!) which is a local speciality. The main worker spoke English and let us know what food was available to order. Music was fun and funky. They sell homemade vermut, cava brut nature, chips, olives, piparres and salsa vermella. Should have bought their olives (2,70 € for 150g) to go! - Vermut (2,60 €) - smooth with the slightest medicinal note. Really liked it. Came with a delicious olive. - Vermut reserva (3,80 €) - more depth and flavour compared to the regular vermut. Try both to see the difference. - Carxofa (2,40 €) - artichokes with sundries tomatoes and black olives. Decent. - 2x Pintxo seito (2,00 € each) - anchovies with olives. Fantastic. - 1/2 Calamar/ventresca (3,90 €) - squid with olives and piparres. Was surprised this was only a half portion. Squid had a firm, pleasant texture. - Patates gruixudes (2,90 €) - homemade chips. They added some of their salsa vermella, which soggied up the chips. Would ask for it without. - Cured tuna (7,80 €) - came with almonds. Never have tried tuna this way. Interesting texture. This portion was more than enough. Our favourite meal in Barcelona.

We asked if we could sit and the man behind the counter said quite rudely: The kitchen is closed, we can only fix some cold food. I asked: Isn't this open until 5 pm? To which he replied in quite a rude manner: We open at 7, those are long hours, the kitchen is closed. Wait, let me get this straight: You have 4 people willing to eat at your place, that arrive almost 45 minutes before your closing time and the kitchen is closed, and you are not willing to serve? You must not understand what clients are, how we chose to put our money and how for every client you lose, the cost is that of losing 7. I will never set foot, I will never eat there and will not continue to follow. After all, Barcelona is FULL with amazing food and the restaurant option is huge. We had the Cannelloni stuffed with oxtail beef and served with potato foam. It was probably one of the best things I have tasted in my life. The El Denito sandwich was the other item we really enjoyed very much. The Tempranillo was also superb. This is a must place to visit for tapas or full dinner.
