The friendliest people you will meet in the gothic quarters! Don't be afraid to sit inside this very traditional restaurant-- they will give you the best wine recommendations and the tapas are tasty. If you are a tourist looking for a place off the beaten path- this is it!

Came here with my wife on Wednesday and enjoyed a great table outside on a beautiful spring evening. Our server was lovely and recommended a great bottle of white wine. Like many other places they are dog friendly and our dog had a great time. We ordered goat cheese, pan con tomate and chorizo with honey. Everything was excellent and we will be adding this to our regular rotation.

Very friendly, heartfull and qualified service. We got wine to taste and then we've choosen our favorites. The food is awesome. It's simply perfekt tapas. The place is quiet and a little bit hidden - and this makes Zona d'Ombra a special Restaurant in such a city.

Saw this place mentioned on Eater as one of the must-visit places in Barcelona. It's on a quiet street in the Gothic Quarter and is a little wine store with a bar and a few high top tables. They have all sorts of great Spanish wines and will help you with your selection. There's also a super reasonable wine flight option where for 5 euros you can try 3 different wines. An excellent choice if you're not so familiar with Spanish wine. There's a small menu of tapas and snacks. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This is a fabulous place to stop by for a drink and tasty little snack.

Our first night in Barcelona, we decided to check out a wine bar and have tapas. Sharon E. was nice enough to suggest it to us. Quick Tip: if you're traveling to a city and need some suggestions, contact a fellow elite Yelper. They'll steer you in the right direction. We ordered a few glasses of wine and were given some sliced salami and crunchy breadsticks. We ordered cheese crochettes, jamon iberico, and had the chocolate ice cream with olive oil & sea salt for dessert. Yum! Not a bad start to our trip to Spain. The service was top notch and the decor was modern. The only weird thing was that there was a lady with her poodle at a nearby table. We were inside! Is this normal? I suspect that she was a good friend of the owners but for me, I know it's not sanitary to bring your dog into a restaurant, the patio perhaps, but not the restaurant. Otherwise, the food was delicious but the place is tucked away along some alleys. There aren't street signs on posts, rather they are located on buildings so keep a lookout for the correct street. Zona d'Ombra is located near a steakhouse if that helps.

Zona d'Ombra was recommended to us by multiple people so we had to stop in for some pre-dinner glasses of wine (or two... maybe three). This is a lovely little spot in the Gothic quarter with a nice, and varied, wine list. They do serve some tapas also, although we did not order any as we were going to an early (8:30 pm) dinner. This was a very nice place to stop in for quick, or not so quick, pre-dinner glasses of wine.

Variety of wine. They gave us their worst example to try.

Bad wine was surprising given the selection. Table service was very friendly but I would want to annoy the passive-aggressive bartender/owner. Cheese plate was nice.

Lovely out of the craziness wine and Tapas. Delicious ham plate and cheese plate. The delicious peppers, wonderful cava and gin and tonics. Recommended by a local - and well worth the short walk. Planning our barcelona lives - inspiring!

Lovely wine selection in a quiet space

Really lovely little out of the way wine bar in the heart of the Gotic neighborhood. They have a great selection of wine for sale or for a small corking fee you can stay and drink there. The interior is warm and cozy with an alcove towards the back that can seat a larger group. They also have seating in a small square shared with two or three other restaurants. Not busy or noisy but still good for people watching. They have a tapas menu and we had several nibbles which were nothing too spectacular but hit the spot and were perfect along side the wines that were recommended to us by one of the owners. (They have an English menu and most of the staff does speak English but we were the only Americans there the two times we went)

Nice place family run apparently, good wine. Spotted glasses, needed to be cleaned. Finished our wine before the the waitress returned for our tapas order. She was pretty busy but apparently forgot about us.

I need this wine bar in my life. Omg. We literally stumbled upon this place shortly after opening…read moretime while cruising the Born. All of the wines by the glass can be tasted in flights or just by the glass. We got deep into the list by having a red and white pairing and by trying 2 of the cavas. We learned of the flights after ordering the cavas. Needless to say we drank a good amount. Our sever Marie was so knowledgeable about the Spanish grapes and growing regions. As a Dutch ex pat she was so interesting to talk to and with. Not only did we talk about wine but also urban planning and social issues in our hike countries. One doesn't always get that with wine. The menu is extremely creative and also set up to be eaten as bites or shares and are paired with the wines. Be sure to try the foie gras and the short ribs. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious. If we didn't have a dinner reservation we would have eaten a lot more. The space is so lovely, modern, well lit and inviting. Any of the bottles on their wine list can be purchased as a discount, so of course we did. Highly recommend.

Though I don't think it is possible to go wrong with any of the brunch wine pairing! They all look amazing and I can't wait to come back and try a new pairing. Lastly, I am usually more of an introvert in a public place, but I was fascinated by the origin story of La Catalista. If you get a moment to talk to the owner, do it! There are life lessons that are as inspiring as the wine.
