I was a patient at Bodies in Motion on & off between between 2017-2026 starting with a car accident, and other related life salutations. The care I received there from all of my Physical Therapists starting with Sarah, Nathan, Brittany, Kimme, Lindsey, and finally Oliva. The Front Desk has been incredible, putting up with my shenanigans. Natalia, you have an amazing staff! I highly recommend Bodies in Motion for your physical therapy care. The physical therapy staff is great. The office staff is completely incompetent and will screw you over. They do not keep track of how many visits you are at, so expect to have to keep track of that yourself (even though the standard at every other place I've gone is that the office staff do this). They notified me that I was over my limit after I had already gone several visits past my limit and instead of charging me the self-pay rate for the non-covered visits, they are charging me the full rate they send to my insurance company. Note, NOT the lower amount they actually accept my insurance company, but the amount that is about 3 times higher. I would not be at all surprised if they intentionally let patients go over the limit so they can make money back by charging them these outrageous prices they can't get from insurance companies. I switched to a much more organized and professionally run clinic and I only regret that I didn't switch sooner after the office staff messed up 3 appointment times. read more

BEWARE - I booked an evaluation - they charged me to fill out paperwork and ZERO treatment, approximately 20 min out of 1 hour to do an assessment?? Why not just send the paperwork digitally beforehand (or afterward) instead of charging me to do it in person - and ACTUALLY addressing my issue? I didn't even get a final evaluation result - i.e. wtf did I pay for, to write my name & address on 14 different pieces of paper and sign several releases on how you can charge my insurance for no reason? 2020 has been a difficult year for us all, but For me especially I have had 3 surgeries during this time. I had been going to bodies in motion for 6 months through the pandemic and my therapist and the rest of the team kept everything sanitized and clean for all their patients. They were recommended by my pain Dr., I worked with Nelson Min for several sessions on my neck and it was a nightmare. When Nelson was attentive, it was fine, but he often put a goofy headlamp on me and had me trace a pattern on the ceiling. It was supposed to strengthen my neck. I told him I work out every day and, including swimming several miles a week, so minor movements tracing a dot on the wall seemed silly. I think it was his way of working multiple patients at one time. He could set me up and move on. Nelson was also partial to long sessions of dry needling. Again, I think it is way for them to set you up and then move to other patients. They told me I was covered by insurance, I have emails from them, but it turns out I was not. Not they want me to pay the insured rate, even though they have a self pay rate this is about half that amount. Stay away, there are much better options out there. read more

As I had surgery in Feb, my therapy was "allowed" during the lock down as it was post-surgery. I got a lot of attention from Nelson even though he was, at times, only there with one other therapist. He paid attention and asked probing questions. He switched up treatment to find the bets way to rehabilitate my knee. I had previously gone to a different PT and was not satisfied. I saw the single bad rating for BIM Reston and wanted to share a different experience. I've seen Secili, Nate and Matt for various issues. It can be hard to get an appointment with some of their more experienced PTists, but -- for you ladies who have had kids -- Secili is worth the wait. I've never had to wait long for a more general issue. Matt's running assessment was incredibly helpful to keep me from injuring myself over and over again. It's a friendly atmosphere and hugely improved my issues. Highly recommended. read more

I had the best overall experience at Bodies in Motion in Reston! 1. The therapy: I drove all the way to Reston from North Arlington because I had heard that Matt Barnes can heal hamstrings. I had chronic hamstring pain in both hamstrings and could not even sit at the point I had seen Matt Barnes. I had had therapy on it before, as well as needling, and it did not work. I finally saw Dr. Amanda Trucksess, whom I love, and who finally referred me to Matt Barnes. (It was a coincidence that friends had told me about she knew him and I had heard of him already.) Dr, Truckess expected that I would eventually need PRP therapy because my condition was so chronic and long lasting. She did not expect that physical therapy would be successful, and told me that PRP was definitely a viable solution if and when the physical therapy failed. Due to the cost of PRP, I decided to try physical therapy anyway because of what I had heard about Matt. I am so happy I did! Indeed, Matt ended up helping me be able to sit, then sit longer, then have little to no pain with a combination of therapy, exercise and needling. Because Matt is a runner and athlete, as I am, he understood my physiology and movements completely and knew exactly where to put the needles. His needling was very effective. I was also committed to the exercises he gave me. ADDED BENEFIT: my rear grew bigger! My friend recently stopped me and said "I noticed you are carrying more junk in your trunk...in a good way!" I would not say I am JLo, but I do notice my jeans are tighter in the back! I could not believe it was noticeable! So, anyone who wants that "almost" JLo look without surgical intervention, can start to go in that direction with tips from Matt Barnes! Lol! 2. Appointments: Perhaps the initial appointment was slightly difficult to obtain, however after the initial appointment, I had a very easy time of setting regular appointments with quite a few available times for my convenience. I even had limitations in that I only wanted Matt Barnes, so I expected it to be very difficult to make appointments. On the contrary, when I have gone to other physical therapy offices, I have had a much more difficult time securing appointments and waited an inordinate amount of time for my initial appointments at other facilities. I did not have that experience here at Bodies in Motion in Reston...on the contrary, I pleasantly surprised. read more

Zamir helped me with a stubborn case of frozen shoulder that occurred after surgery. He's knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly. He made sure that I did all of my exercises using proper form. I'm now able to rock climb and run pain-free. I'm quite happy with the results. read more

6/29/2017 I was not impressed with this place. I had a full knee replacement in April 2017. Due to my knee not bending and reaching the 90 degrees quickly the surgeon had me back in hospital for a manipulation end of May. On that day the knee bend reached 72 percent, But unfortunately the therapist Kaitlyn Bianco did not do much to help me progress further. I was several times put on machinery that I distinctly stated I could not climb on to or that was not in my best interests per my doctors and surgeon. Several times I ended up hurt and having to have adjustments at my chiropractor who also strongly advised against the use of such machinery. The other problem was Kate Bianco had way too many days off to play her volley ball tournaments and Bodies in otion do not like other therapist working on the patient in their absence. However, my surgeon requested that another therapist do so when Kate was out. What a nightmare occurred last week with Greg Hartman. He was stupid enough to use a "Brookstone" back massager on my swollen leg (due to blood clot), not to mention that I am on blood thinners. This so called therapist Greg caused me a lot of pain, subsequent bruising and a very swollen ankle. The incident was just traumatic! Following up with my doctors they cannot comprehend the stupidity of this "idiot therapist" and his incompetence! On Monday, 26th June I was back with my regular therapist but of course now I am being asked sarcastically "What can I do to help you?" Surely, qualified therapists should not be asking these questions, they should know what is needed. I have had PT previously at other practices and never experienced this kind of nonsense. Thankfully, I have found a more suitable place that know how to address the problem of a knee surgery. I can only hope that my leg will return back to normal soon. Bodies in Motion have wasted many crucial recovery weeks of mine! I strongly hold Bodies in Motion very responsible for their stupidity and carelessness and sincerely hope that they have not caused a huge physical problem to me. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this practice UPDATE: October 2017 Please do not choose Kaitlyn Bianco! She has caused me huge medical problems with a knee replacement. Not to mention the pain I have been put through as a result of her incompetence. I have had to have a second manipulation which is very painful!!!! We have taken the matter to the Virginia Medical Board. This physical therapist is facing disciplinary action!!!!! We also have several independent witnesses who have given testimony. Kaitlyn was negligent! Kate Bianco treated me like an idiot writing reports that were totally false. First of all I am British and have command of the English language so much better than she does. Her reports are insulting stating that "patient does not comprehend". Also a PT therapist is supposed to follow the surgeon/doctor's orders not be sarcastic and do what she wants. I sincerely hope that Kaitlyn is fired or removed from causing further problems to another patient. read more

This is a sad day for me because I've taken comfort in knowing I have easy access to a great PT in Kait -- but good for patients in DC! Worst experience ever . Stay away ! They insured me even worse and then charged me for the procedure I didn't even had .

This is the worst physical therapy in the country . Nate was terrible . They injured me and charged me for multiple procedures I didn't even have . When I tried to resolve it they took me to court to collect 800 dollars . And I was 9 month pregnant so I could not go and defend myself . I have been a patient at Bodies in Motion in Reston, VA. They supposedly do have some very good PT's but the underlying issue is that they are over-booked and understaffed. Therefore, you will not be given an appointment time that is convenient, and even if you are in major pain a minimum of 2 -3 weeks to wait for an appointment. And, so that they can book up even more, before even meeting your therapist, they want you to commit to up to 8 months of appointments in future, which is hard to do sight unseen. They are also open 7-7 but will only offer a new patient an 11 Am or a 2 Pm, which is convenient only for them! read more

Fabulous Physical Therapy. The best that I've been to. In particular, Nathan Pierce, DPT is so knowledgeable and professional. He takes his time with you and gives you all of his attention. He's such a quick study, because of his depth of physiology, he is able to zero in on your issues. He's also so encouraging. In addition to giving you take home exercise material, he emails it to you. After just two sessions, I can see improvement. I highly recommend. read more

I personally had a great experience at Bodies in Motion. I had muscle imbalance/dysfunction in the lumbo-pelvic hip complex that caused me tremendous pain for several months. I explored different treatments and saw different health care providers - MDs, chiropractors, massage therapists. My chiropractor recommended BIM and I worked with Sandy for several months. She helped me to better understand the cause and effect nature of the problem and set me on my way to recovery with dry needling and targeted exercises. I have the occasional flare up, but my issues are now under control and my life is much happier :) Staff is friendly. Scheduling is tight, but they do their best to accommodate you.
