I've always used the tanning beds - but quite because they're bad for you..then I used spray tans via Mystic Tan / Versa spray tan, but man! They were way overpriced. My first time doing airbrushed spray tan.. I kind of like it! :) Kristi was extremely nice - not uncomfortable at ALL.. but I do have a few blotches...hopefully if I call tomorrow, they can fix some of these blotches - that's normal, right? Loved the actual tan. Still holding strong 4 days later. The woman was very nice and thorough. I was a little concerned that the other person in the room (intern/shadow?) was on her phone. I wouldn't usually mind but I was half undressed. I like a little more privacy. I'll go again for sure based on quality but I would ask her to stop if that happened again. read more

Natural looking spray tan. I was concerned about being too dark and she was very cognizant of that. The place was kind of hard to find. Wish there were more instructions on how to care for -- like a small pamphlet. Shred nice and offered business card to call with any questions though. This is my 2nd time using Body Brushed and they are so simple, easy, convenient, and quality tan for a great price!! Even at last minute call in, the owner said it was fine ---both times --- and to come on in. I came in, they have wipes and everything you'd need for a walk in. The first time i got an incredible dark, gorgeous tan for vacation. The next time, I was in hurry and just needed a glow for the all day event the next day. I was able to.come in without an appt and they were more affordable than the place i have a membership with! New members and every tuesday there's a $25 special provided. Both times the girls who administered my tan were super nice and let me evaluate my color to see if I wanted more. I was able to get another pass over of the areas I asked for ar no charge. The place is tucked away in a strip center by a lot of construction, but the little boutique is a very cute place. I tried calling 5 other places who had no time for me before I called them. I went to body brushed to get a spray tan for my friend's wedding!!! I would give this tan less than 1 star if I could!!!! After being sprayed the solution was literally dripping off of me in streaks and my legs were so splotchy. I told the woman named Shannon that I didn't think that was normal. I have had many spray tans and I had never had the solution dripping off me, since the mystic tan days! She kept dabbing the streaks off me with a foam sponge and it wasn't helping. And then she sprayed even more to "correct" it. Yet it was not helping. I also told her I felt like I was still wet and needed to dry more and she assured me it was fine. She also rubbed some powder on me to correct and let me know my armpits being green was normal?!? I have no idea how green for a spray tan would be normal! When I complained again about my tan being streaky, blotchy and uneven she told me "honey don't worry go home and look at it in the real light" so I put my dress on and went to pay! I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip! Which was very very uncomfortable!!!!! I felt pressured to leave a tip even though I didn't even want to pay for the awful tan!!!! By the time I got home I was horrified by what I saw, and I have pictures to prove it! My legs, arms and armpits were so streaky and uneven. And on my chest were literally drip marks from the tanning solution dripping off!!! I waited an hour and when it still looked awful I showered and scrubbed it all off! I could not risk ruining the pictures for my friend's wedding. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I called to complain and got no answer! I would love a refund because this spray tan was worse than any mystic tan! I have pictures to prove it! Do not get a tan here!!!!!! The voicemail was full so I could not leave a message either. Thirty minutes later she finally answers and said that she had to leave for a family emergency and would be back in an hour. It's safe to say I won't be going back to Body Brushed ever again. I'm leaving for a wedding out of town today and wanted a tan for the wedding. So I had an appointment yesterday (Thursday) at 7:45 p.m. I haven't gotten a spray tan since a streaky orange Mystic Tan I got before a cruise in 2005. But the reviews for Body Brushed were so good that I was really excited to give it a try. So I arrive at 2431 Sunset Blvd. I walk into the little house and it is dark and empty. I had read in someone else's review that they don't greet you right away if they're with a client, so I'm thinking maybe that's what's happened. I call out, "Hello? Hello?" acouple of times. Nothing. It's kind of scary. It's dark and abandoned. I go back outside. Yep, there's the sign for the business. Yep, it says Body Brushed on the door. What's going on? So I call. The woman who answered the phone said, "Oh, you're at our old location." Huh? Yes, apparently they've moved. She gives me directions to the new location at the corner of Wakeforest anfd Bissonet, not too far down from the old location. Fine. I drive there. I have trouble finding it and call 2 more times for directions (the first time they don't answer and I'm getting really frustrated; second time they answer). Anyhow, I finally find it. It's now in a really hidden little space in some sketchy looking office suites. I actually end up arriving just about right on time since I was actually early went I went to the Sunset location. It was like 7:48. I walk in and it looks like they've just moved. They're in the process of painting and it smells like paint. They've chosen a hideous yellow color for the walls (I would really re-think that if I were you, Body Brushed). There was another custoimer waiting for her tan ahead of me and the woman says she'll do her tan and then be right with me; she apologizes for the wait. I say, no problem. She asks me about what color tan I'm looking for. I'm super-pale and say I just want whatever the lightest is. She says okay, that's Level 5. Fine. She takes the other woman in the back to do her tan. Then she goes in the back again. Then she comes out and says that she's really sorry, but she's opened her Level 5 tanning spray and it looks like there's some kind of factory defect; like the tan color is not mixed in with some white component or something. She says she's really sorry and can she reschedule me. I look at her in disbelief. I believe she's really sorry, but still I wasted my time and now I don't have time to go anywhere else to get a tan before the wedding. Suffice to say, I had a really bad experience with this business. Maybe she does do a good job; I just won't be back to find out. read more

I feel so lucky that I found Kristi at Body Brushed! There's no one else I would ever trust with my spray tan. She is literally tireless in making sure her clients are happy with their tans, working overtime to make sure every customer is tended to. Exposing yourself in your full-on birthday suit can make anyone nervous, but Kristi has seen it all and is only looking to make sure your tan is smooth and flawless, every single time. Professionalism and pride drives Kristi and she will make sure you walk out satisfied, whether you get sprayed by her or her assistant (currently Ashley, who is excellent!!). I am fair-skinned and I go for a level 6 or 7 in the winter, and perhaps a level 8 or 9 in the summer. It always looks natural and streak-free!!! I have referred several friends after they inquired where I've gotten sun! Be wary of going any darker unless you are getting ready for a bodybuilding competition (which she absolutely does if you're competing). The staff here will consult with you to let you know the best color for you. Tuesdays, first time clients and bulk packages are $25 per session - what a bargain! Note: the location can be difficult to find the first time - on the corner on Bissonnet and Wakeforest directly across from Pink's Pizza, on the second floor. I got a spray tan by Sabrina last night and she was WONDERFUL. This is one of the best spray tans I have ever had. No streaks, no yucky orange coloration, just a beautiful sun kissed tan. I am very pale and had been doing spray booth tans for the last two years and was tired of the dirty hands/feet look and decided to try body brushed instead. I had been here once before a few years ago and the results were good but not like this. I love there are so many different color choices so I get the best one for me. I recently read the reviews on this place and wanted to try it until my friend told me that this is the same place that use to be on Sunset. From my previous experience the management was unprofessional and there were usually a wait. There seems to be a lack of consideration for customer service, I believe another reviewer even said that they double booked and instead of giving a discount for waiting they asked for gratuity...who does that??
