The lady was super nice who helped me, this is only the second spray tan I've ever had. I was overall not completely happy with the outcome but I wasn't disgusted. I paid extra for a pre-spray that supposed to help with streaking and what not and then also paid extra for a bronze booster which I will say I think did actually work. My hands were ridiculous they had dark spots all on them and you could see the unevenness. I had a huge streak down my leg but the dress I wore covered it so I wasn't totally worried. The lady did attempt to fix a spot on my arm that got messed up. Overall it wasn't bad I just wouldn't waste money on the prep spay and make sure nothing is running before you dry. read more

I have been coming to Bronze Bar for several years, however, today, upon arriving 4 minutes late to my appointment, I was informed of their alleged 3 minute late policy. To my surprise, they did not offer to work me in over next 20-30 minutes in between other appointments, as you would expect from any customer oriented business, and instead was told (1) they would not accommodate me, and (2) I would need to come back at a later time. Again, I've been coming here for years (and have been late before) and it's first I've ever heard about this policy. I think it's also worth pointing out this business is located in the Houston galleria, an area that's notorious for unforeseen traffic and construction so I have to imagine folks are late all the time x After this experience, I proceeded to check their website, appointment booking link, and the appointment confirmation notifications I've received in the past with the thought that maybe this very stringent late policy is disclosed to their customers; however, I couldn't find it anywhere. I have personally never heard of such an absurd late policy (even at Michelin star restaurants), however, if and when I have ever come across a business in the past that has strict late policies, they are always very forthcoming/forthright about it . Again, not the case here. Further, I asked to speak to the owner of the business to explain my frustration over the whole ordeal, and I was told they are not permitted to give our her information. Scratching my head a bit on this one as well as I would think a small business owner would want feedback from their customers (whether good or bad). All this to say, I am very disappointed in what transpired with this business/owner and cannot in good faith recommend anyone spending their money here. There are many other small businesses in the Houston area that offer the same product and (hopefully) better customer service and experience. read more

I am so happy I found this spot. The location had me a little hesitant, but it was fine and the inside is so cute. They have GREAT prices and they actually will get you dark. So many places that are so expensive already will up charge for every little thing including color level. They got me super tan like I asked for and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Dear readers...you know I hate writing bad reviews, but sometimes it is unavoidable...I have been getting spray tans for over 10 years, and this by far was the worst...I walked in, and she was very helpful, explained the different options...when I went in the room, I noticed a press-on nail on the rug in, when I pointed it out to her she just said oh and did nothing...I was so grossed out...then she sprayed me, and used a make-up brush to touch up spots (never had that happen before), i hope they clean it in between clients...then I dried in front of the fans, I noticed spots were dripping a lot more than usual. I called her in, and she touched up again with the brush...I waited the 4 hours to shower, and the results were not great. I was so splotchy, and not even at all...I hope it was just my luck, if not, your sprayers need to work on their technique. read more

I tried Bronze Bar for the first time last week before i left on my trip to California. I got the 4 hour rapid tan and the color looked good when i left.. but I will say that my feet and hands are pretty splotchy and orangish. The service was great and it was very clean. I might give it another shot when I get back into town... but was pretty bummed to have splotchy hands and feet on my trip. I managed tanning salons for 4+ years... but this one threw me a curve ball. I was on their instagram and was so excited to have the chance to try this place out a few days before an event! I can tell you that the staff didn't take time to educate. Wasn't really helpful in general. I got to the room- disgusting. Felt so gross that I didn't even want to step on the towels. There were runs on the walls- which take months to build up!. But that's not the worst part... I got the medium shade... y'all I look ORANGE. The amount of streaks I have on my back and legs are DISGUSTING. With it being an "airbrush", I would imagine consistency. I'm so sad because I wanted to like the place... but there's no way I'm going back. UPDTE: The worst spray tan I have ever gotten. My hands and feet look like I have been playing in mud. It is so uneven all over my body, that's probably due to the girl rushing and not taking her time. I have gotten so many spray tans and this is by far the worst service and spray tan. I have spots on my neck and by my collar bone that were completely missed. Do not recommend! I've tried other spray tanning places, and had to go to Bronze as a last minute stop before going out of town. And now I drive 30 minutes out of the way because it's the best that I've had. I've had organic sprays, primers, etc that were a little orange toned. I'm always super satisfied with my color here. I've gotten regular, rapid, and primer. This is my first time getting airbrushed. I initially thought this would be great I got the 4 hour airbrush with extra drops for evening out etc. and a 4 level out of 5 for darkness. I left it on for 4 1/2 hours and I look almost exactly the same as I went in. $60 down the drain for a self tanner I could have done myself. Don't waste your money! read more

Only knocking one star because at the time I went they were super busy. I recommend going earlier in the day versus later, especially on the weekend. The reviews I read beforehand said they felt rushed, and although my girl did my spray super quick, I am very happy with how the color turned out. I have fair skin and I went with the medium 4-hr rapid (not medium natural). I felt like if I went with the medium natural, I would wish I was more tan, so I'm happy I did the medium. I also put lotion on my hands and feet before I got there. Yes some reviews say they left and they had no color on the skin, which is how I kind of felt too, but it definitely warms up. You just gotta give it some time. Because of how busy they were I wish I could have gotten the opportunity to learn my spray tanner's name, maybe chit chat a little but I didn't mind. The spray wasn't too cold either. I will be trying out this place again, but hopefully going when it's not crazy busy. read more

Was so excited to come here as their tans looked amazing on instagram and I had heard good things. Also I frequently get booth spray tans, so I was excited to try airbrushing as I had heard that it is much better. So, I get the medium dark tan with both of the boosters and the express version (this is the most expensive combination you can get- about $65). The girl spraying me was nice and told me I can wash off in an hour but she usually waits 3. So, I waited 3 and washed it off and it literally all went away. I look just as pale as i did when I went in. Frustrating because it is money down the drain and I needed a tan before my trip this week. Additionally, I followed all of the prep tips of exfoliating/shaving 24 hours before and wearing loose clothing etc. You're better off getting a booth spray tan if you actually want to see results. read more

I washed my rapid tan (medium color) off after 5 hours (you're supposed to wait 4 for a rapid tan and 8 for a regular). After rinsing off the cosmetic, there was zero color left on my skin. I was hoping maybe it just hadn't developed yet, but nope- this spray tan was completely ineffective. I followed the tips on the website very carefully - wore loose clothing, didn't get wet, etc. The front desk girl and the girl who sprayed me were both friendly enough, I guess, but everything felt extremely rushed. They didn't really explain anything, and I asked a couple of questions which they seemed annoyed with. The spray tan girl also walked in while I was still getting undressed. Didn't really bother me, but I would have thought they would have knocked at least; it was a little awkward I really don't know what else to say about my experience. $40 down the drain, completely wasted. I don't doubt that it works for some people, but it didn't work at all for me. I have had several spray tans in the past done elsewhere and they left me tan for ~ a week, so I don't think it's my skin that was the problem. read more

The appointments are super quick (usually 15 mins). The people who work there are really kind and work efficiently. The first few times I went, the girl working the front recommended just a medium tan, which is the most common color. Last time I went, I got it a little more bronzed and I'm OBSESSED. The tan looks natural, flawless, and BRONZE - NEVER orange!!! I recommend doing the rapid tan because you only have to let it sit for 4 hours, and it usually lasts a little longer than the regular tan. They also have great deals for members/packages. Place was dirty but that wasn't the biggest issue. My attendant rushed her job, I stood in a fan area for drying that was super awkward and I left feeling so freaking sticky(never experienced this at any other tanning place). The next Day I had spots every where on my arms and underarms, to the point my family asked if my skin was ok since I looked so spotty it could've be mistaken for a breakout of some sort. My feet were oompa lumpa orange, I had streaks on my legs. Then my tan did not fade evenly. Instead patches faded over time. This has never happened in a booth for me. When I get a spray tan in a booth my fade is even, and I NEVER have spots. Also the formula is hellla orange! Save your money go get a booth tan. All I can say is the local bloggers must be getting free tans for life to be hyping up this place so much, because service is simply meh and the tan sucks. read more
