The first thing I noticed was the "Mom and Pop" feel which I love - it was personable. The friendly lady at the front helped me immediately as soon as I asked for help. Now, I bought the bag of multiple vitamins in packets (and some additional supplements) and they turned out to not only give me the best price - I actually got quality vitamins here - I take these daily and I can totally see the difference in my skin and well-being. It has been very hard to find daily packets of multivits at any local nutritional store. As a teenager I was usually very deficient in iron, folic acid, etc however I became health conscious in 1984 when I was offered a job in the juice bar at Peter Gillham's and after taking the mulitvits I noticed that my nails became long and strong and I was generally healthier. I used to prepare Mr. Gillham's favorite drink called "Bohemian Protein Drink" with pineapple coconut juice and delivered it to his office upstairs on the corner of Catalina and Fountain. I have become very inspired by Mr. Gillham's knowledge of health and nutrition that I'm educating my boyfriend on nutrition and I plan on cleaning out his cupboard of cheap bottles of generic vitamins and replacing them with Peter Gillham's multivitamins. I would like to continue to be supportive of this store even after 38 years.
