Mary did such a phenomenal job making me feel welcomed I signed up. I recently moved back to Akron after living in Arizona for ten years. I've been a member simultaneously at different gyms for various reasons. I must say Personalized Wellness Center holds up with the best of them. After being a member for two weeks at PWC and coming in at different times here is my sincere review. 1. PWC has a nutrition bar where they make fresh smoothies and offer supplements. (get a fresh smoothie after/before working out) 2. PWC is open 24/7 so you can work out at your convenience. 3.PWC has free weights, bicycles, treadmills, ellipticals, a track and a ton of machines. 4.PWC also has a daycare for kids,a rehabilitation center and also personal trainers. 5. PWC has a practical and reasonable monthly subscription 6.Mature crowd 7.Sauna I've been to gyms on the west coast were you pay $129 a month and gym's were you pay $19 a month. It's the same workout, whether you pay 10k for a rolex or ten dollars for a timex they both tell the same time. The more expensive gym's, yes did have newer equipment, fancier tv's, state of the art sound systems, big smoothie and supplement stores. At the end of the day your body & health transformation depends on YOU!! You have to go into the gym you have to lift the weights, you have to get on the treadmill and you have to want it. Typically not always but typically those big "franchised gyms' it's more of a social hour and people wearing too much cologne/perfume. That doesn't happen at PWC I highly recommend PWC it has everything a big franchise gym has but yet gives you the at home feel

What this gym doesn't have is gymfluencers with tripods, lines for the squat rack, and soap dispensers that don't work. The only thing this gym is missing is an underdog dodgeball team!

It's run by Michael, who has mastered the art of motivating without sounding like a drill sergeant. He genuinely wants to see his clients succeed, so whatever your goals are -- strength training, conditioning, Spartan runs, marathons -- he can tailor workout routines that will help you achieve them. People of all skill sets and body types work out alongside you, and no one has an ego -- EVERYONE is incredibly supportive of each other, and it will only take a few classes for you to feel like you're part of the family. Classes are set up using a reservation system, so there's no more than 8 people allowed in one time slot. This makes it easy for Michael to give you the individualized attention you need -- which is absolutely vital if you're new to weight lifting and need guidance on proper form. There's a set list that varies from day to day, week to week, so EVERY part of your body gets worked on. A membership averages out to less than $10 a class, so it's absolutely affordable. So, I have been a member of many gyms over my lifetime. I use to live in LA and have been a member at high end gyms all the way to your middle of the road. The same goes for here in NE Ohio. I will honestly say I am very happy with The Natatorium. The customer service I have received has been great, the gym and locker room has always been clean, the equipment has always been functioning properly and the people have been pretty cool making it a great environment to get a good workout in. I really love the fact that this facility has a wide array of machines, free weights, Hammer Strength equipment, basketball and racquetball courts. I also love that there are many stations where you can squat and also a place to deadlift which I have found in the past has been frowned upon in some gyms. Another plus is the fact this facility has an upstairs with tons of cardio equipment, an ab area and a track that you can choose to walk or run. Just pay attention to the lane that you are suppose to be in and the direction it changes daily. I almost forgot about the steam room and the pool area if you want to take a dip or swim some laps. When your workout is done you can buy some smoothies, sandwiches, coffee and açaí bowls at Sandy Bottom Bowls. I have purchased a few items and they have been pretty darn good. My favorite is the PB@A Bowl. Make sure you get one of the cards and get it stamped at every purchase. I believe after 10 items you get a free bowl. So far I am very happy with The Natatorium and look forward to many more epic workouts. Thanks!

There was even someone going around and cleaning all of the equipment that wasn't being used while I was there. The number of cardio machines was great and there were a ton of options to choose from, which made me feel OK about going over the 20 mins limit since there was no line! I wish the LA Fitness closer to my house was this clean and well maintained. Only complaint would be that front desk attendant was a bit distracted and the music was meh - otherwise no issues!

I was paying more than $200 per month when my personal training package and other membership amenities were included. Unfortunately, I experienced repeated issues with the overall gym environment, including interactions with staff members that I felt were disrespectful and included offensive remarks as I passed by. I brought my concerns to management more than once, but eventually reached the point where I no longer felt comfortable continuing to pay that amount of money in an environment where I could not simply focus on my workout in peace. I ultimately spoke with management and a regional manager about ending my agreement. They did work with me somewhat on the cancellation cost and reduced the amount by approximately $200, but I still paid more than $300 to get out of the contract. I want to be fair and say that the personal training itself was very good. My reason for leaving was not the quality of the training. It was the overall environment and my feeling that, for what I was paying, I should have been able to expect a consistently professional and respectful experience. For me, the biggest lesson from this experience is that I will no longer enter into long-term gym contracts. I now prefer month-to-month memberships so that if the environment or service does not meet my expectations, I have the ability to leave without paying hundreds of dollars to get out of an agreement. When someone is investing this much money in their health and fitness, they should be able to come into the gym, work out, and leave without unnecessary problems. That was ultimately what I was looking for, and unfortunately I did not feel I was receiving it here.
